    400 dollars would turn into more over time with those 1st edition Pokemon cards. Definitely worth the pick up for a long term investor/collector. You know if you had the money to invest with.

    Fales are super easy to spot even if the Charizards had some damage people are paying allot I know for sure you'd male your money back with the charizards alone. As someone that collects and knows allot there were allot of value there even if some were fake shine a light under them double check I would have gave him 400 in a second. If he still has it you should go back

    • @Vandicoup
      @Vandicoup ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah exactly. I would've still paid for it and went for a deep dive into it when I got back home. There's 110% some gold there. Just the 2 Charrys alone were gold enough to break even on the $400 deal, at the very least. Goddamn what a missed opportunity! But I get it at the same time lol

  • @chicagokyle5126
    @chicagokyle5126 2 ปีที่แล้ว +32

    $400 is really a great deal considering the 2 base set charizards would go for $85-$140 each in played condition. Just say you sold both of them for $250, the rest of those cards are $150??? You could easily make $600-$700 off the rest of the cards in those 2 binders maybe even more if you find some near mint/mint cards scattered in there to. Definitely would have offered him $350 and seen if he took it as even that's a steal.

    • @mattmillen1636
      @mattmillen1636 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the only problem with that is the each card has to be individually listed. thats alot of time and its takes alot of time on some of those cards to sell and alot of the stuff in those binders wasn't much to write home about as far as collectable demand. just wasnt worth the risk of making a $700 profit that only goes down the more you have to relist. this could take a year or more to get rid of.

    • @iLawyer
      @iLawyer 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mattmillen1636 He could've negotiated price. I probably would've asked 200 and tried meeting him the middle for $300 or less. Those 2 charizards alone are worth $300+ as long as they aren't too bent up. Also, a lot of those old individual holos are basically 20+ dollar bills. I just would've been skeptical about it since he did notice a fake charizard at the beginning.

    • @chicagokyle5126
      @chicagokyle5126 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mattmillen1636 To each their own I could post all of that up on ebay in a week and do auctions which 100% end so no need to wait for things to sell. Post it all and have it all prepacked so when the auctions end you just slap the labels on and you're done. So many ex cards which easily go for $25-$100 depending on condition obviously, but even heavy played ex cards go for $25 all day, people love old ex cards and they are hard to find, that vintage binder had quite a few. Just the holo's would be $700 profit, the rest of the bulk that isn't first edition can make a full lot of it's own and fetch a few hundred or more on top of that, easssssyyyy moneeeyyyy in those binders.

      No . There was a base set zard and a base set 2 zard . Just the base set 2 on ebay is sold for $250 not graded . . A base set zard can run you $350 on ebay raw

    • @chicagokyle5126
      @chicagokyle5126 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Deiios Those prices are pretty insane, $350 for a raw base set zard and $250 for a base set 2 is near impossible unless they are like psa 7-8 condition or better, I doubt these were. As my comment says " maybe even more if you find some near mint/mint cards scattered in there to " but yeah base set zards in played condition go for maximum $150 in todays market, my lcs has 2 of them right now for $150 each, if I could resell them for $350 don't you think I would?? lmao, Trust me.. Those elastic binders might look fancy but they won’t protect your collection very well. Dust and other particles will surely get in there from every angle. Best to use a genuine zip side-loading binder like card guardian or vault x.

    • @Vandicoup
      @Vandicoup ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends on where you store it. My binder is as exposed as it gets (no zipper, no elastic band, just the classic ones that open and close that's it) and yet I have zero dust or anything else on my cards or card holding sleeves whatsoever. I store mine in it's own drawer inside a whole dresser that's always closed and rarely opened so there's never any dust coming in at all for me haha. I also keep some stuff inside my closet which again I don't open too often and even that is basically dust and other particles-free too.

Just a few quick internet searches at the right places, including eBay and/or Amazin and bam! But regardless, that's usually how it is with most sellers anyways. • @Vandicoup
      @Vandicoup ปีที่แล้ว

      For the entire set. There were some other gems in there like a few OG EX cards and such. The Charizards alone can fetch up to 400 easily. I've seen the low quality ones go for $150-200 a piece.

    • @Vandicoup
      @Vandicoup ปีที่แล้ว

      I totally get the condition and legitimacy issues, but at the same time, look at it like this: You could've easily made your money back regardless though. Even the really used, low PSA-graded ones have gone for $150-200 a piece. Those two Charizards would've at least helped you to break even on your entire purchase and you can still keep the rest of the cards, essentially...for free! :D Also, a lot of those old individual holos are basically 20+ dollar bills. And soo many ex cards which easily go for $25-$100 depending on condition obviously, but even heavy played ex cards go for $25 all day, people love old ex cards and they are hard to find, that vintage binder had quite a few. Just the holo's would be $700 profit, the rest of the bulk that isn't first edition can make a full lot of it's own and fetch a few hundred or more on top of that, easssssyyyy moneeeyyyy in those binders. Saw a Pokemon lot just yesterday go for $10K on eBay after like 60+ bids on it!!! Absolutely wild.
