That's a loaded question. Rods are the one piece of equipment that is very personal. That is to say physical strength, height/reach, and casting style will dictate which model is optimal for you. As for brands, probably it's a toss-up between Century and Zziplex as to which rod ranges are most preferred by competitive casters. For actual fishing, factors like target species will likely bring many other brands into the picture that are better suited to that fishery.
Hmmm if the guys let the rod fall slowly so the line runs straight out of the rod it gives less friksjon and longer casts, just mentioning it ofc. no need to actually DO it....
Yes but if you want to be really good at something the small details count and it's just a mather of practice so it all boils down to do you want the last 20 yards or not:)@@carolinasurfcastersassociation
I doubt if it would be 20 yards , probably inches but your right, its friction. I once asked Danny Moeskops that question. His reply was typical of the big man………”why do i need more inches ?…i will worry about that if the time comes” Fair play to him sure cant argue with his pedigree.
Awsome video, slow mo really works well
What brand rods are best?

That is a good point, but difficult if you’re also trying to carefully back off the magnets on the reel at the same time.
