Note about the DLC armors, they’re actually based off of a real style of medieval parade armor called All’antica, it was basically the medieval/renaissance depictions of classical greece and rome
I dont mind at all buying skins for unique looks. As long as they're well designed though. Prices are no big deal considering i buy league of legends skins like milk, same as the average player. Also im really excited about the modding tools. Some talented people gave life to chivalry back in the days by creating dank maps/modes, skeletons vs ppl and dungeon maps extending the game's lifespan by years. Really looking forward
Great update for horde, but that's it. For invasion it's 1 map and 1 weapon, and a few skins. A surprisingly bad update. They removed the ability to change teams on Invasion, which is the worst idea I've seen implemented yet. No one wanted it, no one needed it, no one likes it, it doesn't solve any problems, it creates new problems, and the problem it fails to solve hardly existed in the first place.
Definitely not the biggest patch, for sure too late to make a difference in the community. Also, devs going back on their pledge and adding cosmetic DLC. Glad I dropped this game after seeing how shit its gotten.
A surprisingly great update, especially the horde revamp. Actually considering playing a good amount of horde now as I had a lot of fun with it yesterday.
With the addition of 2x Golds / Experiences boost for this update, playing with a decent team then even a low level player can get a huge amount of ... golds & XP. Last night i played alot of Horde game in a 20 people server, and gained around 14.000 golds that when straight into new Armored setups. This is indeed a very positive change for the game-mode, i always play as much horde game as other mode. Although i may miss the older horde game but im happily welcome this update.

Now after some days playing ... quite alot of Horde game to be honest, and thinking about what you said i think there's alot to talk about. I want to reminding that i am highly agreed with your opinion above. On one hand I would like to defend the new Horde mode: This change fixed & add more mechanic to play with while you have to defending a tough AI Noble (although not smart enough to stay away from fighting & can be easily overrun in mid - late game). The "skill point" for unique perk & ultimate skill earned from each wave made the game mode alot more interesting, split into 4 main roles although its up to you to used those "skill point" as you wished. Each wave now spawn AI in smaller groups but still increase difficulty later on (accept we still have Farmer all the way to wave 21) Some AI has couple more model & only the Ogre is the unit that changed the most, a small different with Juggenate & Seymour, no Robin Hood & normal Knights (i don't know why, tbh) but overall all AI are the same as it used to be. Now you will by armored from level 1 & upgrade it to 2 - 3 overtime, i think that's alright. And for any weapons, tool, throwable we no longer used we can sell it to a Goblin and take back (roughly) 85% Golds of said stuff we bought. You can sell medicine too but why would you do that rather than ... used it anyway? We also can be revived back to battle after death for amount of time, if not will return at spawn after some 10 more seconds. But since i too im a veteran who play Mordhau for years & old Horde mode alot, i too can see this change does take away the original game mode identity: The Horde mode is no longer about survival against 21 wave of AI enemy & it made you have to forcus on keeping said AI Noble above or you lost the whole game. You can still travel the whole map & fight but it will pull you far away form the Noble, so you will have to fight near him & in a certain area most of the time in case things when badly. Your fallen does make the game harder for the team but you will return no matter what so it does make your death somewhat less impactful ... I have some other things to talk about too, but in case you want to respond & add more i will rather wait to read it, and before going to conclusion. Edit: Originally i want to say is you can still play the updated Horde game just like before, by using no skill point at all and if your team can handle themself you can still solo 1 vs AI around the map. Another think is i wonder if there're still anyway to play the original Horde game, kinda like you can still play in the old Castello map in "local" or maybe a modded server that resemble the old version ??
I haven't been able to hop on yet because of holidays but this update looks great! Horde mode changes are something i'm really glad to see since these kinds of changes always seemed obvious to me but now they've actually done it! Excited to see how the perks and everything work.
It's honestly much harder now. But they still didn't fix the AI getting stuck in some places. This causes a huge overlooked issue, if all allies die, and the AI are stuck, the AI can't kill the Noble. So everyone is stuck spectating and can't get their reward lol.
I love the changes on horde, but depending the team, I would argue it's easier than before. B/c with the skills, lots of players get OP and have over 300 K easy... I hope they add a couple of waves and more bots per wave.
It's a good update. Just one year too late to be meaningful for many. They should look at a mordhau 2 or something in my opinion. The problem with the cosmetic dlc's is that it was a huge complain about chivalry and the thousands of skins it had. And it was something that was specifically addresed by triternon saying it wouldn't happen. But i can't blame them for trying to get money off their game to continue working on it. At least they're not using in game currency to hide skin's price like so many. So they've got my thumbs up here.
I think if they could release it a year earlier then they would. I didn't play chiv, but I can't see any complains about it. Those are just cosmetic DLCs and they still made free ones for the patch. Paying optional 6€ for 20€ game in which you put 600 hours in isn't bad I to be honest expected them to be able to buy gold with real money
idk why you're comparing chivalry's thousands of paid cosmetics to mordhau's two? It also has a dlc from day 1 yet nobody said shit back then but somehow its a problem now.
At the end of the day, the DLC is just 2 nice looking set of armored which you can buy ... if you want to, it wont effect anything about the gameplay other than intimidating some other players. I will say for the price of each Weapons / Armored set & how details those gears was (not to mention you can mix them with the rest of Mordhau in-game cosmetic), it is more or less a fair deal. Since the game release day & only a DLC starter pack, every in-game cosmetic are all "free to unlock", you just need to reach an amount of Level & enough Golds (although very expensive if we look a top tier stuff) to get them. And you can get more as you wanted. Tthe only question that matter (in my opinion) is how many will they have in the future, and how good are they ? For now, 2 set of DLC armored & weapons aren't no big deal

After I put about 666 hours into mordhau, I tried Chivalry 2. However they don't make dung covered peasants like mordhau does so I kept coming back to mordhau. Cheers all
Other than "exploit", it can also be an Admin of the server (and there friends). I see some Admin do this sometimes when they only there to moniter the server if not playing as well, kinda normal to me.
auto assign just seems to be based on how quickly you load into a game. a friend of mine with a great PC, he is on defence team 100% of the time, 10 games in a row. he often loads into the game first. this feature is also a real problem when multiple members of one team quit, leaving teams unbalanced, while nobody is able to manually switch to balance it out.
noria looks really nice but it's too much walking. a 20 min match on noria is grueling because you'll spend 15 minutes walking from the spawn to where the action is.
I waited so long for this and now I just don't care anymore. They didn't revert chambers to costing 0 stamina, so if I trained to play with parry unbinded to use more skillful chambers, I got to the point where I could chamber morphs and drags, but I was still fucked because devs think that mashing RMB is better. I play Chivalry now. The only things I miss is playing with no armor and customizable loadouts and strike directions changing by camera movement.

I absolutely adore new russian styled armour, i was struggling to create a russian character since patch 19, and now i finally have sone russian themed cosmetics to use, and also the voice sounds like a merged arabic and russian accent. Very cool

Look how Galencourt turned out but that was breaking the game but I am on same boat just like Giru said: "If you roll something out which wasnt tested and straight into live servers you fuck the game." And he knew about the combat overhaul since castello update. I wait for part 2 and how population will turn out since when I played last time the game was in pretty bad spot only fighting those sweaty nerds how carpet drag me to hell and enjoy my time in Chiv 2 which is even with its shortcomings much better game overall...Healthier population better chance in dueling with more options and maps have certain feel and balanced to accompany game modes.

combat overhaul will be nail in the coffin that will spell near certain death for the game... i have played the reworked combat on the lite test level and it is appaulling. id rather play chiv 2. none of the animations are an upgrade but infact a major downgrade and they removed all swing manipulation to balance the combat around feints, morphs and stamina... swing manip is bread and butter and heart and soul of melee slasher. i pray it never goes live

Im a fencer of many years, and so I know an awful lot more about fighting than you likely do. And you know what, games like Chiv 2 which are about feints, kicks, etc are far more enjoyable in my experience. Often times, realism is better.

That is not an exploit nor a bug, it is made that way, so there is more room for dueling and it is accessible with commands.
