Enough names to be a bit confusing but that's due to a long history. Diolch yn fawr iawn for spending your time to do these videos for us.

Hey man, good video, the structure you identify as an old gun turret around the ten minute mark is a part of the old quarry, it's the top tower of an incline which would have winched cart loads of rock down the hill you walked up, which is itself a man made incline purpose built for this. The quary closed in the 20s or '30s and were converted to a gunnery school for the war. The old gun positions were situated on the lower terrace, most have which have been lost to the sea, you can still see part of the old quarry port on the cliff below. The guns would have most likely been 25 pounder (or similar) artillery positions firing shells, not missiles. The cave you mentioned with the old printing press is apparently still accessible but you have to abseil in. I intend to do this at some point myself. There is allegedly a tunnel that connects it with Penrhyn Old Hall, an old manor house (now a pub) which William Davies apparently frequented during this time.

Thank you so much , I realised pretty quickly I'd misidentified the quarry equipment 🙈 good luck with the abseil - fascinating stuff

@@wales-whatsinaname No worries mate when I get round to it I'll film it and put it up on here. Just need some time off work so I can go and have a proper explore. I have a couple of potetial spots where it might be so fingers crossed, eh?

With regards to Printing Press Cave, you dont need to abseil to it, it's accessible via steep decline which overlooks the NW facing cliffs where the seabirds nest, I've been down into it with my dog. It's in the viscinity of W3W "///shares.powder.port". There is no such tunnel connecting it to Penrhyn Old Hall.

@@michaelbent22 Sweet, cheers for the heads up. About the tunnel, it must lead elsewhere then, they apparently had to blast it shut when they built the dual carriageway connecting Llandudno, unless it was old mine workings they stumbled upon?
