Liverpool fan here and I 100% agree with the comments re Dom's history. He was a victim of Chelsea's internal politics whan he was a teenager; then he was at Liverpool when they had Mane, Firmino and Salah at their peak (who in the world would have got through them into that side ?), then he had to rebuild at Bournemouth in a side that was collapsing and sliding into the Championship. So, out of that he had to rebuild his confidence and his game, and as per the commentator here, 90% of players would have disappeared, so it says a lot for Solanke that he came back and became the player he is. I take my hat off to him.
    👏👏👏

Very interesting podcast. I personally would like more variety from Ange in defensive formations. Play 3 at the back against counter attacking top teams like Liverpool. I still feel we will concede too many goals to challenge the top two. Locatelli was mentioned today - yes please......

Referring to the Chelsea match as something to learn from means you don't understand Ange or what happened in that game. Spurs should've lost without VDV and Madders and Cuti and Udogie. Down to 9 men. And they DID lose. But instead of hunkering and hoping against hope, they tried to WIN, which is the opposite of Conte ball and it was glorious. And it almost came off... Interesting answer from Jack/Seb on needing another CM, that doesn’t feel like a priority unless we get players out (Skipp and maybe Bissouma). Versatile front 4 player like Eze feels like what we most need as Seb mentions. Not sure why there isn’t more talk about the need for a LB more in the mould of Udogie, Davies is a fantastic servant for the club but feels like he might be better suited to CB in this new Ange system.

Just a couple of things on the title.
    1. You don't replace Harry Kane. He is one of a kind.
I understand the meaning, but you do have to take into consideration that he is irreplaceable.
    2. What do you mean "finally"?
It's only been one year. If we had his replacement already, that's amazing going for Daniel Levy.
How many years has it been since not replacing Dembele? That would be a "finally".
And we only just got a replacement (nowhere near as good) for Eriksen last season. We didn't have a creative mid for a number of years.
One year would be a flash to replace Kane.

Spurs did not utilise Kane properly as we now see from his outstanding performances and goalscoring with Bayern. If Spurs can learn and adapt to properly utilise Solanke then they will surely be very successful.
Solanke is more than just a goalscorer and centre forward. He is an excellent team player even significantly helping in defence, particularly at corners. He scares defences and is unselfish.
Let’s hope Spurs adapt to use him properly, to his strengths for their benefit and for Solanke’s benefit.
Very sorry to see him go, he was very valuable to Bournemouth but wish him every, indeed outstanding success … except against Bournemouth!

Davis ,Lo Celso, Forster , Solomon ,Regulion need moving out , with Ollie Skipp who deserves the chance to also be moved on stuck because of Euro rules ,just to get another player, in 3 positions LCB , LB and a top level attack player like Eze , currently show in Europe why not having club trained players yet able to fill in ,some club balancing act still a couple of seasons away from integration of very talented Golden Generation of youth . Solanke is a perfect fit if he can continue his solid season at Bournemouth and compete with the top four clubs for honours.

The fee is crazy, I don't think any amount of mental gymnastics about home grown fee can justify it personally. I like Solanke, I think he's going to do well at Spurs, but he's had one season of top performances and has a patchy injury record, the fee is crazy.
I can see him doing well in his first season, but not ripping up any trees (something like 12-16 PL goals, that sort of range) and being labelled a flop by the media/online fans, again because the fee is so high and the expectations are going to be sky high - just look at the title of this pod, people are demanding immediate top level performances.

Spuds would think so! Lol! Delusion as usual!
65 mill!!!! Last season he did ok! Injury prone and 5th in the England choice !

19 PL goals is much more than “decent”. 20-22 PL used to be golden boot numbers before Haaland (and I’m an Arsenal fan btw). It’sa decent signing but with his age it doesn’t make much sense imo. Why buy a 27 year old for that much when you’re squad is ready to challenge

Injury prone? Get your facts straight mate.
5th choice for England because Southgate didn't have any clue who to take lol
Toney has very poor season, solanke scores 19 PL goals and chooses toney? Bowen was a waste of a spot. Doesn't take grealish either, Southgate clueless, has best squad in euros and still fails haha

No, they haven't. Solanke will only get 15 goals this season.

Amateurish analysis, suggesting this is a very sensible low risk signing! This is a big gamble for Spurs. They have paid £65mill for a soon to be 27 year old who has 1 stella season in the prem and about 2 and a half previously which would suggest he is a £5mill player at best. He was outstanding last year and IF he replicates that could justify most of the fee. But if he reverts to his previous premier league levels they have a hugely expensive asset that has minimal sell-on value.

I agree theyve overpaid but worth 5 mill? What a stupid comment...

@@dontbewoke As I said. Until last season he had 10 prem goals in 5438 minutes. = 1 in 6. 5mill player maximum.

@@papertrex3673All transfers have a certain amount of jeopardy. Spending £65mill on a soon to be 27year old who before last season scored has actual goals in the prem at 0.16 per 90 minutes over 5400 minutes is very, very risky.
