    Had one in the early 70's. Trail 90 before the handlebar flippy thing. Paid for with my paper route. Lots of fun. Once they had the flippy bars, every RV had one strapped to the back.

    Best selling bike in Oz 15 years+ running. Used by all postal deliverers in all metropolitan areas.. one was highly modified and raced on the salt. It was timed at an alleged 200kph although even the rider doesn't believe this speed to be accurate

    Great bike, always starts, I left mine standard 7.5hp, put trials tires on it, and goes where I point it.

    My grandfather has one with low mileage in his trailer. I believe it hasn’t been started in almost 40 years. It’s still there and now I want to restore it.

    Great little bike, I have the ex Aussie Post version, it's 1985 & virtually identical to yours but it doesn't have the hi/lo g/box. My only gripe with my bike has been the 6 volt electrics, overcharging & blowing bulbs etc. Pardue Bros are the gurus for 6volt Honda electrics.

    Mines a 1980 (imported to the U.K. from the USA). The 1980 was first year of the CT110 and I believe the only year they didn’t fit the high/low ratio gearbox. If you think these bikes are expensive in the USA, checkout what they are fetching in England!

      You know they have gone through the roof here too, I scored this for 1500 two years ago, it's probly 3000 as it sits right now, Honda brought out the new CT125 but the dealers can't get any of them, anything is decent shape that ruins and has a title is 2500. I sold four of them to D&K about 4 months ago, two of them were real dogs but I bet they go for a couple of grand in the UK

    My uncle used to have one of these back in 80s... Good memories.

    Yes, even with the rebirth of the 125. These still are selling here in Canada for $2-2500k. As the CT125 isn't available in Canada. I guess the market is too small. But I think rural areas and eat coast areas they are perfect for.

      The new CT125 would sell like hot cakes in Colorado but Honda can't supply the new ones. Greg at the Honda Shop got six of them last year, reckoned he could have sold a hundred if he could get them in stock.

    I know this is an older video but l just gotta say, as far as these little bikes go, for $1500 you got a nice bike there. I paid $100 for a '74 CT90 about 18 mths back and now have about $350 in it. Runs good but looks like poo, which is ok with me for now because l live in the very dusty Big Bend area of Texas. Anyway, nice littli bike and enjoyed the vid.

    They are very rare to have the high/low gearbox, i have a ct110 ex postie here in Australia, the original motor blew up sadly yrs ago, has been sitting in the shed 3 yrs now, finally put a Lifan 125cc in it, i really wanted to keep it original but eh, least its going again! so thats good

    My word of advice is that you should never buy one of these if there is any kind of electrical issue. The previous owner of mine, in his infinite and unbounded wisdom, decided to take a hacksaw to all 4 blinkers, re-register it as an OHV, and make some nice (irreversible) mods to the wire harness. It took over a year, and more money than I would care to admit to give it a working set of electrics again, and the DMV is still dragging their feet and letting me have a plate for it.

    • @lr882027
      @lr882027  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hmmm, one would think the electrics on these are as simple as they come.

    • @jamestouchesgrass3410
      @jamestouchesgrass3410 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lr882027 it's simple alright, but it's also 6 volt, which makes correctly fitting parts much more rare than the 12 volt models.

    1980 is the year w/o the hi/lo
    I would love to find High Performance parts for carb or exhaust without changing the stock look before I get one. I've dreamed about this bike since I first saw it in Jr. Hi.

    • @lr882027
      @lr882027  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Would be nice if you could get a big bore kit but there isn't one. All the research I have done has revealed few performance parts and the effect of those that are around is marginal. Get the jetting right on the stock carb is a good start, I'm now running a 65 main jet and it's perfect.

      Funny you should say that, I just re-jetted for altitude and power improved noticeably. Went for a 70 main jet (it was 78), needle one clip from top (it's an aftermarket carb, stock Honda needles are non adjustable) and 1.75 turns of the pilot. It's sweet.

      Just made it up to Trail Ridge road (12,000 ft) tonight, starting to run out of go at 10,000 or so but popped into low ratio and all was good.
