While "Teonna Rainwater" is a fictional character on television, her story is absolutely historical in the lives of thousands Indigenous people who suffered and died at the hands of white invaders in the US and Canada over four hundred years.
The vast majority died from diseases. As the world has grown to its current state they were never going to be allowed to keep an entire continent to themselves to live like it’s 10,000 BC and rape and pillage each other over and over. Get over it
It's truly sickening the things indigenous people endured. How anyone participated in the cruelty and heinous acts upon them is a horrific and heartbreaking thought.
We in NZ can relate - loss of land , near loss of language- getting punished for speaking Te Reo Maori - lost in the system , rape - killing our women , children and men - imprisonment- and so much more and yes we have people of today telling us that we wiped out a whole race by eating them etc - such utter bull… I felt for the many Native American Indians watching this 😢
I cannot wait to see the continuation of this storyline. How sad that stories like this actually happened. I'm hoping Teonna has a happy ending. She deserves it. Can't wait!!
I don’t believe she will have a happy ending. Isn’t Thomas Rainwater her grandson in the Yellowstone show. He was not brought up by his people, but adopted by a Mexican family. I think it is finally Thomas, Beth, & Kayce who have returned peace & dignity to Teonna’s people as how Yellowstone ended.

I was so saddened at the way Native American people were treated. I was also happy that it showed the brutality in the way they were treated. My father was Native American. His great grandparents along with a few other families escaped being forced onto a reservation, hid out in the Blue Ridge Mountains. My grandparents were living in fear whenever any government officials were in the mountains, they would hide along with their children so they wouldn't be subjected to the brutality. Teonna was just one character among thousands of children. Many were treated so badly they didn't survive the "school". My grandmother told me a few times about what her parents did to ensure the safety of their children. I'm deeply grateful.

I read about these infamous boarding schools many years ago, thanks to an Italian association who was engaged in defending indigenous people rights. I had the chance to read the book Bury my heart at Wounded Knee as well, and it was very instructive to me. The most shameful thing was that so-called men and women of God showed absolutely no love and compassion for their pupils. If this is the way to favour integration between races, they have betrayed their mission and their faith. Lord will surely have these unfortunate children in His house, and will reject their unworthy teachers. I only hope that knowing this sad story will teach today's men to pursue peace and brotherhood and to not repeat these horrible sins. This message is for all men, no matter what race or nation they belong to. I pray for peace in this world, beginning inside our families. I leave this in the name of Your Son Jesus Christ. Amen
Idk. Maybe Alex dies and Spenser ends up saving Teonna from the Catholics. Then, they fall in love and have a baby, which is John II. However, there has never been a mention of a native relative in the Dutton family (except those currently living). Also, Rainwater would know his family's heritage. He's never mentioned being related to the Duttons (except for the current family thru Monica). Therefore, there's no mystery. There is no connection.
True. The Duttons have always been decent to the native peoples, and vice versa. Elsa married one. They tried to nurse Elsa back to health. James told their Chief in 7 generations they could have it back. 1923, Jacob gave Rainwater (Teonnas father) all the sheep, and who knows how else they'll help each other in 2nd half of 1923. The Yellowstone season 5 finale was perfect! Everyone kept their promises and still have alot of respect between Duttons & Natives.
I hated the way white settlers treated the native americans, especially the hypocritical religious people..I'm sure well never know all of it, but I believe we are reliving some of the nightmares the children suffered through the episodes we are viewing.
She actually killed two nuns. The episode I saw only showed her killing the one but when they were discovered the next day she killed two. I think it was the one who beat her and the one who molested her. She strangled & burned the one with a ruler heated up and put a knife in the other. Just started watching this part of the series.
Tiona's story is one that needs to be, and should have been, told in schools. It's still not mentioned. Education is one way to teach us who we are today. Stop rewriting history.
I hated the boring history classes learning about war & their dated . Then there was the Mayans. Why I don't know. So much we could have learned like slavery!
Really looking like forward to 1923 Teonna is the most riveting story. i would like to see how she will fit in with the Duttons. Maybe just maybe will make the ranch going back to the tribe has a bigger story. we have not found out yet. and will explain even more.Maybe Sam from 1883 could bring Teonna to the Duttons HMMMMMM
Love Teona in this. She is strong enough to run away back to her own role. What the government did to the native people of this country will forever be a dark bloody stain in this country’s history.
Yes looking for this very talented young women actress! Too a story is so important because the brutal behavior was so telling of truth! Can not wait to see this story line!
I just realized that her last name is Rain Water. She must be an ancestor of Thomas Rain Water. Tough gal. That whole story of what they did to those Native Americans at those schools is so sickening I can hardly watch it. Catholicism is responsible for more violence and abuse than probably any force in history.
Jack's wife will die in childbirth, and Jack will end up romantically linked to Teona. Spencer and Alexandra will be revealed as the parents of John II.
Tionnas character its good to show what abuse they took from American. They were here first and we just shoved them aside like they were nothing. All of that is so shameful. I hope she rises up above it all she sure is a fighter.
Amazing actor and plays the character very well! It shows the real suffering of the Indigenous peoples in North America. I appreciate them shedding light on this time that was swept under the carpet. The missionaries in Hawaii pretty much much did the same thing. Made them slaves I believe
No romance.. But a common foe will bring the Dutton ranch and Teonna relatives together. I predict a tragedy, otherwise the modern Dutton - native relationship would be more visible. Chief Rainwater was adopted and did not know he was a native American until he was 18. Teonna dies, I think.
Tionas story is brutal but most riveting story in 1923 . I feel she will bring a big part as to why or how the tribe will get the Land back .Can't wait to see what happens to her.And how that plays out in the Duttons world.
Nope. Her story is completely unrelated. It was a decision by Jamie and Beth to give the land to the N ativ Americans in order to keep it intact and pure. To let it go back to wilderness.
Season 1 is televised Sundays on Paramount Plus channel 241 on Dish. This coming Sunday 12/22 will show episodes 1 thru 4. Season 2 premiers February 23rd.
This didn't say much except for speculation and the narrator's own feelings - meh. But I agree - Tiona Rain Water's storyline has been under represented in part 1 of 1923 and I hope the 2nd season brings more of it to the forefront.
Season 2 starts February 23, Teonna Rainwater. How does a female with the last name Rainwater carry on the name. The child's name usually comes from the father.
I am sorry this stuff needs To be shown and yelled in our faces. It makes people ask questions and learn the true history. The US government and Catholic church should have to pay for what has been done in our history. Let's start with promised land
Tiona's actress was incredible, truly wonderful. But also, our 'beloved' Thomas? I couldn't stand his character for the vast majority of what I saw of it. I sure didn't love him.
IN MY MIND AND REASONING... BY FAR...""1923"" is much better than the series BEFORE and the series AFTER... the reason it's not.. IS THE MONEY AND THE EGOs of the bigger stars/starlets. Writer/OwnerTAYLOR SHERIDAN made a huge mistake falling for this fallacy (to his detriment.) and our losing out with only 2 seasons of SPENCER DUTTON..!!!!!
Why should I care about this, when we now know Yellowstone is destined to fail. I think Taylor Sheridan made a huge mistake. No matter what they do in1923 to save the ranch,it’s useless, b3cause the Yellowstone Ranch fails. The bid ‘Y’ falls to the ground. This show is so anticlimactic.
She portrayed the role so perfectly. I was glued to every performance.

Jack's wife will die in childbirth, and Jack will end up romantically linked to Teona. Spencer and Alexandra will be revealed as the parents of John II.
I don’t think anyone knew she was Rainwaters relative until now
These events in history are true I've read about them, they suffered many painful years
Tionnas character its good to show what abuse they took from American. They were here first and we just shoved them aside like they were nothing. All of that is so shameful. I hope she rises up above it all she sure is a fighter.
When is this scheduled to air?
Mid February
Sad but true😢
Our elders have told us stories of these school, places where they had "assimilation" beaten into them. These are deadly true historical facts.
Amazing actor and plays the character very well! It shows the real suffering of the Indigenous peoples in North America. I appreciate them shedding light on this time that was swept under the carpet. The missionaries in Hawaii pretty much much did the same thing. Made them slaves I believe
We’re is the trailer?
All of what she did should tell the world
There is a connection - James promises to return the ranch to the Tribe in the 7th Generation
No romance.. But a common foe will bring the Dutton ranch and Teonna relatives together. I predict a tragedy, otherwise the modern Dutton - native relationship would be more visible. Chief Rainwater was adopted and did not know he was a native American until he was 18. Teonna dies, I think.
That was my family. Very difficult to watch. Grandmother told how ugly it was
Tionas story is brutal but most riveting story in 1923 . I feel she will bring a big part as to why or how the tribe will get the Land back .Can't wait to see what happens to her.And how that plays out in the Duttons world.
No she has nothing to do with how the indians get the land back.
Nope. Her story is completely unrelated. It was a decision by Jamie and Beth to give the land to the N ativ Americans in order to keep it intact and pure. To let it go back to wilderness.
How can she possibly do that when she's living 100 years before the current Yellowstone story? 'Splain that one to me, Lucy!
How do you find season one?
Season 1 is televised Sundays on Paramount Plus channel 241 on Dish. This coming Sunday 12/22 will show episodes 1 thru 4. Season 2 premiers February 23rd.
So sad without Coco 😢
Amina really looks Good in Red. Ok speaking of her acting ability, well the most poignant portrayal I ever seen.
Lov Tiana.
Sheridan makes these shows disgusting! Not even necessary to tell a good story
This didn't say much except for speculation and the narrator's own feelings - meh. But I agree - Tiona Rain Water's storyline has been under represented in part 1 of 1923 and I hope the 2nd season brings more of it to the forefront.
Teonna needs to hook up with the Dutton family, return to the boarding school, and free the other girls.
Season 2 starts February 23, Teonna Rainwater. How does a female with the last name Rainwater carry on the name. The child's name usually comes from the father.
Not if the parents are not married
Is Jaime Dutton Teonna's son?
Too bad ill get completely banned from yt if i comment
I am sorry this stuff needs To be shown and yelled in our faces. It makes people ask questions and learn the true history. The US government and Catholic church should have to pay for what has been done in our history. Let's start with promised land
The narrator is horrible in this reel. I don’t think we need her downer attitude.
Not a trailer at all!!
Teonna has to be related somehow to Rainwater in Yellowstone right?
Ive read ALL those kind of schools (Prod $ Cath) treated children the same.....True or not?
She is my favorite so far and I can bet she will be romantically involved with John Dutton so Rain waters and Dutton are family
Maybe Tate?
Te Anna and Rip and Beth’s adopted son?
She killed TWO nuns in her escape. Which one are you not counting...the rapist?
She killed 2 nuns.
Good start
They had it coming
Interviews with the actress make her to be as insufferable as Rachel Zegler doing p.r. for Snow White.
THANKS FOR SPOILING SEASON 5.2 END!!!
