Splendid. Woke up to F61 and your reset suggest allows me to run for some time until the Pros get here.

Nice and helpfull video, I replaced the 4 electrolytic capacitors on the board and solved f.61 with 7€. Thanks.

      Hi
      What capacitors have you replaced?

Thank you. The F61 wasn't in the manual so your video helped. Unable to reset so contacted valliant. Good thing I have a repair plan

Prefer to repair malfunctioned items instead of buying a new one until it is economical. In the case of f61: push the top let button to continue the operation. Watch the temperature readings for five max 10 minutes. If the temperature will suddenly change more than two - three celsius degree up or down and back than this is the sign of old electrolit capaitors on the pcb. There are different versions of PCBs but the electrolit capacitors easy to be found. Read the values of uF and voltage and source the capacitors from a local electronic shops. Make sure you select low ESR capacitors, suitable for switching power supply applications. In my case there were two 47uF 35V, two 10uF 100V, one 100uF 400V electrolit capacitor. The total cost of these components is about 4 EUR. If you have the parts than depending your electronic skill level replace these capacitors or look for an electrical techniciant to do the job for you. Do not forget the safety! Close the gas valve and disconnect the power cord BEFORE any repair!. I measured the replaced capacitors. 4 were in order but replaced them because of the age and the small cost. One 47uF was an interesting one: the capacitor uF value was OK, but the ESR was way beyond the acceptable level: 150ohm, instead of smaller than 1 ohm. This solution is more cheaper than buy a new boiler/PCB and the repaired pcb will be fine for an another 10 years. Good luck!

Do you have any diagram that would help identify the components in subject

    • @mihalym.6876

@@lovejahandlive8912 For the job mentioned above there is no need for a schematic diagram. In my case I did not have one. Just access the board and replace the electrolit capacitors. This job requires some electronic background, like recognizing capacitors and soldering. Capacitance measurement requires a suitable meter. Meter is cheap comparing to the replacement cost. Always take photos before doing anything, it will help in the reassembly. Note the polarity - positioning of the capacitors, you should install the new ones in the same polarity - positions.

We have a recurring F61 error with some leaking. Our engineer reckons it is a faulty valve and has ordered a new one. Will update when it is fitted.

Often only the two capacitors on the board are broken.
Oft sind nur die beiden Kondensatoren auf der Steuerungsplatine defekt.
Nach einem Wechsel geht die Heizung wieder.

I left a message with my engineer to say the problem may be with the pcb, as the displayed temperature keeps jumping up an down. He agreed and will be calling next week with a new valve and pcb. He will then test both.
Just wondering, could a stuck valve cause the pcb to malfunction?
Update 6/12/21. Engineer replaced valve, pcb and a leaking hose. So far so good, till the next time something else goes wrong, then time to get a new boiler. This one is about 11 years old.

hello i have the same problem as u for my boiler vaillant the fault is f 61 i know my exp pcb or gas valve my new pcb is going hot i don't know why is going hoter please can you help me please

    • @MarkBallardLTDHeatingEngineer
      @MarkBallardLTDHeatingEngineer  7 ปีที่แล้ว

Sorry I can not give you any advice with that. Only that all engineers hate pcb faults as you can never tell why the pcb went in the first place. You may have another faulty part on your boiler which damaged your pcb.
You can call an engineer but if there is no obvious fault there is little they can do.
      Good luck

@@MarkBallardLTDHeatingEngineer so if the other fault is still not resolved (ntcs most likely) it could blow the new board you install again ? Thanks

  • @PM_A

Quick question. I had f61 fault on an ecotec 2012 model today. The boiler guy came out reset it and repressurised it as sitting on two bars. It went up, has dropped back down to two bars again anyway now once heating turned off, so that made no difference anyway. My understanding f61 is due to PCB, electric wiring fault or gas valve problem, the guy just blew it off as electricity surge? He was a bit blown away as said has never seen this on the 2012 models and said if happens again to call again. I'm a bit skeptical and worried the right action wasn't taken and could be dangerous. It's a rented property so unfortunately out of my hands who is sent out.
