Worked here for 11yrs.... brings back some good memories, sad to see the old girl in a bad way in the video, well everything in the video has gone, it's just a shell now. RIP Uskmouth B, maybe we will see you in the future as a battery park. 😢😢

That looks like it was filmed a while ago. I was there last year doing some final disconnections from the grid feed. The explosion was caused by an OCB (oil circuit breaker) gassing. A guy from the drawing office got back to his desk and could smell something. He left the office to check with control. As he left the OCB blew taking out the walls between the switchroom, the toilet and his drawing office. He was lucky to have timed it just right.
BTW, Uskmouth has been used on a couple of occasions as a film site for Dr. Who.

Must have missed that. Thought it was a while ago as all the building damage from the explosion has been fixed. Be unlucky to see any workmen there now. When I was there last there was just 1 guy on site. I'm glad there was as we managed to get our cherry picker stuck in the gravel in the switchyard. Got towed out by the sites forktruck

You did great to get in there when you did. All the turbines, generating sets, boilers, coal mills have been cut up, taken out and scrapped. Apparently, cracks have been found in the concrete supports and floors of the main hall. It's also rumoured to be chock-full of asbestos which means removal would cost millions before any demolition of the main structure could take place. I've been on site a few times for my old job but sadly I couldn't sneak off and get photos.

Hi Alistar how are you doing mate? Great video as always well edited with perfect background music added to the eary scenes its a real shame that this old power station in Wales has closed down and is no longer in use, this place is huge with most of the machinary still inside intact speccially the control room plus the turbines too some of this stuff could be moved and setup in a museum speccially the bits in the control room as they would look awsome inside there, amazing that the control room still had power running with the computers still booted up the stuff could be reused if it was usable in todays standard to be used sad that the WIFI didnt work thats due to the Windows thats on the computer is out of date plus wouldnt load on the computer properly if it did end of the day they didnt care to switch off the power compltely and just kept it running anyways i hope your having a good afternoon so far Alistar and keep up the great content on your channel as its so enjoyable and entertaining to watch 👍

Demolition has now started on the flue gas treatment units, they've now exposed the old windowed back wall of the station where the six flues exited the building. There has been a lot removed from the turbine hall too, and dumped around the back of the station where its been cut up and shipped out. I don't know if they'll ever generate again, I think not, but there is likely to be a battery storage site there in the coming years.
