It's never one size fits all. My OTTB hasn't worn a blanket since his track days and I'm in Colorado at 8200' alt. I bought a former halter/show horse who didn't know how to be a horse. He hasn't been blanketed for 5 years and doesn't like blankets.. Also, I dose them daily with electrolyte syringes when it is cold and below freezing. They do great. This can change if one of them gets fragile. The neighbors blanket their horses when it gets in the 30s. I don't think that does the horse any favors.
