Rockwood x Cryovault Sperm Collection Operation

Our Hemmersbach RHINO FORCE CRYOVAULT team recently partnered with Rockwood Conservation (rockwoodconservation.com/) for a huge sperm collection operation. Rockwoods breeding facilities and population of over 250 healthy Southern White Rhinos gave our reproduction specialists the opportunity to collect and freeze semen of several rhino bulls, thereby adding new genetic material to our biobank. In addition, the joint scientific research and sharing of gained knowledge enables all of us to do a better job in progressive conservation!
About the CRYOVAULT project: Our goal is to facilitate future assisted reproduction applications in rhinos by implementing semen or ova collected and cryopreserved now. This approach represents an additional strategy to conserve the genetic diversity of rhinos for future generations.
