I think the rain worked in India's favour. The bowling today looked out of sorts, except for few deliveries from Akahsdeep. A new day tomorrow and the bowlers can resume fresh and motivated.

Choosing to bat first with cloud cover at Bengaluru and getting all out for 43.. that influenced this decision. RoSha was severely criticized for that decision. It doesn’t matter whether they ll get wickets, he ll never choose to bat first under overcast conditions !!

He is finding international test cricket is different than captaining in ipl. He has been a defensive captain- that’s works ok in ipl, not in test cricket. Kohli is the right person to lead in test cricket

350+ loading for Aus. India will fold for under 200. Aus to give a target of 450 to chase and we will get bowled out for another sub 200 score.

Another excellent podcast ! India would be disappointed to not get a wicket yet but they seemed to be getting back in rhythm last few overs

Bowling first was the right decision. They get at least 3 cracks at the openers before Australia score 30.
Not Rohit's fault the bowling was non threatening.

If India had batted first, I guarantee they'd have been 3/20, and almost everyone would have criticized Rohit for batting. Having said that, I wouldn't have been one of them. I believe you win the toss and bat every time, and if you're not good enough it's because your batting is not up to test standard. This is a defensive mood borne out by the fact that the top 6 have not made big 1st innings scores in years now.

Enjoyed the discussion on the toss. This series has been very interesting since both teams have issues in their batting . India may have a slight edge on paper but this is negated by immense experience and skillset in Oz bowling. It would have been more fun for me personally if Bumrah was captain as I think the bowling performance is dominating this series. He did well in Perth as skipper

Yes, wonder if the captaincy would lift him that tiny bit more?

India missed a chance of getting a few wickets. Both McSweeney and Usman weathered the conditions well. Having said that, Aakashdeep looked good and could snare a few.
If Australia were bowling first, India would have easily been 3 wickets down by now.

It makes sense that different cities would have different rain insurance premiums. Sydney's must be through the roof!

Akashdeep should have played in Adelaide!!! Still on the fence about the Rohit's decision - 10:36 agree with Geoff. 11:00 Yes, you are right Siraj was low on energy,I discussed the same with a friend(who is in Australia). 17:26 - I think Richard Kettleborough is the only umpire to have Parody accounts, usually it is the players who have parody pages😂, so you guys do lurk around if you are aware of the ridiculous conspiracies!! 18:00 - those selfies are making it to meme pages!! 18:38 - if it is a process problem how did they come to "conclusive evidence or lack of it in one case", genuine question guys, because from an audience perspective - Mitch Marsh and KL Rahul had a similar situation, how does it work differently (anyone care to explain!)

Many Insurance companies pay out more than they take in premiums (at least that was the case in the insurance sector I worked in 12 years ago - could be different now, or in different sectors). What they can do though is make money from the premiums they hold through investments etc.

Interesting! They’re basically a giant escrow account but can leverage the funds?

It’s not about the length bowled by the Indian bowlers, it was a combination of the conditions and the lack of support for Bumrah from the other end with Siraj leaking runs bowling inconsistently and Akash Deep possibly sharing the new ball instead. The Indians will correct that and come hard at the Aussies when play resumes!

Bro when india defeated australia here and removed the word gabbatoir from the dictionary then they did it by batting second. And if you see the trend in last 4 years then 3 times teams that have won were batting second and the once they didn't was against west Indies this year which was also quite winnable with 100 runs required and 8 wickets in hand. So no matter how much you criticise rohit inside you're in pressure as this pitch gets better to bat as match goes on

Rohit was worried about his own batting form I think.

People take sides and would go to ridiculous lengths to defend what they believe. Had Australia won the Toss and bowled every commentator would have gone ga ga over what a wonderful decision it is - bounce on pitch Overcast conditions!! If Indians scored 28 out of 13.2 overs- they would have gone ga ga over how Josh & Pat were all over Indian batsmen. If KL scored 4 out of 33 balls , they would have said - KL somehow survived the torrid time he was given by Aussie pacers!!
    Now reverse the situation!!
Fast bouncy pitch , overcast conditions, history favors the decision, one of all time best fast bowlers in the team - of course it’s an automatic choice to bowl first !!
Come on guys - 28 out of 13.2 overs in a Bazball times where the norm was 5 and above , Aussies scored at snails pace of 2 per over !
Mcsweeney scored 4 out of 33 balls !!
Of course India bowled well . And they will bowl well tomorrow given that there is more rain ( overcast conditions) on forecast !!
Plz give some credit whenever it’s due !!

I mean I would agree Geoff on so called timid move if the forecast for whole day is good but if it's Stop-start scenario batters have got nothing to gain really and also gabba tends to get better with haydos saying overprepared to maintain gabba track for 5 days so it's a good toss to win and bowl and yeah execution could've better but less swing than expected so still ball is new and hard for tomorrow to make inroads.also when a team has best test bowler why wouldn't they give him best possible scenario of 0-0 and back their batters when the pitch is flat to score more runs to make up for 4 th innings we just recently saw in Perth.thoughts guys?
