For the second companion you can make it so one of the quests to get a free upgrade on the submarine is about killing all life in a nearby cave with valuable resources for the people BUT there is a "war" between mirelurk and lakelurk, the "war" once you arrived is over or you see the last few crabby thing being killed by the lakelurk, then you you kill all lakelurk and find a mirelurk egg, which the original dude ask you to destroy... You can choose to not do it and it could hatch and you get a baby mirelurk companion that grows into a full mirelurk after 2 weeks in game, need to feed him raw meet twice a day.
So cool man i wish Xbox or Bethesda studios would be as creative as the Fall out community thats so amazing to finally explore the waters of Fallout all the unique Radioactive creatures and Cryptids in the Fallout radiated waters would be amazing. Keep it up, man. I hope it releases.

That and it's right on the edge of the Bermuda Triangle, which had all sorts of weird things going on in the 50's and 60's.

But if you take egg to hatch you don't get the upgrade from that dude at all and have to get it somewhere else
