    We must have been on the same wave length Sunday. I made split pea soup in the slow cooker too. Mine is a little different than your recipe. I add some barley and bacon flavored tempeh to mine and I cook it a bit longer to let the split peas complete break down. This some this my mother did and it always stuck with me. I really like split pea soup. It is very hearty. Thanks for sharing the recipe.

    Hi. You said the liquid smoke may not be necessary because you were using paprika. Does that mean you were using smoked paprika and not regular? Also, what chopper are you using with your mini chopper?

      You can use smoked or regular paprika. I like smoked paprika. Or, I use the hickory-flavored liquid smoke. I use a chopper from Full Star brand. Here is the link amzn.to/48Q8EIc

      Thank you! We can’t get Liquid Smoke here in Ecuador. I was wondering if you only used LS when you use regular paprika. Your recipe looks great!
