A Lebanese-French composer, Gabriel Yared wrote the fantastic film score for the masterful film “English Patient,” which brought him an Academy Award for the best original score.
“We die containing a richness of lovers and tribes, tastes we have swallowed, bodies we have plunged into and swum up as if rivers of wisdom, characters we have climbed into as if trees, fears we have hidden in as if caves. I wish for all this to be marked on by body when I am dead. クラシック、中東など、さまざまな要素を取り入れ、壮大で印象深い音楽を書いたレバノン出身-フランス在住の作曲家ガブリエル・ヤレドはこの作品でアカデミー音楽賞を受賞。
バッハの音楽を彷彿とさせるRead me to Sleep ラストの回想の場面で使用されています。
