@@someoneinasia her vape dmg doesn't increase noticeably ,but the overload damage does. now, overload damage is not most of her damage ,but still a significant part, so lvl80->90 is more of matter of when only if you play raiden national a lot. personally I don't but still I wanted to maximize her dmg cause nothing else to do.
Started playing Genshin a few weeks ago. All of your videos are super informative and are helping me avoid making detrimental mistakes that will cost me time and resources in the future. Thanks!
I definitely wish I watched videos like these when I first started years ago 😂 biggest mistakes for sure have been not keeping the dark iron sword and trying to farm artifacts too early
NGL, every single one of my level 89 characters are the direct result of me repeatedly hitting a wall in Abyss 5 seconds short and angrily muttering to myself, "Okay, okay, I see how it is... let me just pump some of these books in and BLA-DOW!!! How you like them apples now?!!"
One thing to consider when talking about level 90 characters is that eventually is more resin efficient than farming artifacts, it obviously depends on the team and characters but it is a guaranteed increase in damage versus a possible increase in damage on farming artifacts, so eventually you should level everyone that does a high amount of damage to 90.
leveling main dps to 90 is better than expected. the defense scaling difference between lv80-90 character on lv 100 enemies is a 2.8% damage increase, combined with extra base attack can be around a 4.3% increase.
The concept of understanding meta and using that knowledge to make non-meta characters viable is really useful. I love how Kaveh plays, so I've been working on a Kaveh bloom team and even though it is nowhere near finished, I've been really happy with the performance because he has good units backing him up.
Hey Jello, been watching your youtube rise. Thanks for making videos for new players to understand actual mechanics to the game. So many of the youtubers just assume everyone understands more complex in game topics like damage multipliers, reactions, etc. I wish you were making these videos a year and a half ago when I started playing and really needed them, but I'm glad you're doing it for the newer players regardless!
Sucrose National IS NOT a low investment team. You'll need way more resin refresh to gear everyone/get cons on all characters than you'd need time saving up primos for a 5stars teams.
in the funneling section this is why i value Zhongli so much. He's not a must have, but he allows you to play shit you want to play, and the fact he's geo and doesnt mess with what you're trying to do makes him so damn good. Zhongli: shields, shreds, again is geo so he doesnt mess with reactions, just slap him in any team and you're gravy, the tenacity buff from artifacts, you can play lazy because you only need his short cd E which last forever, minings great (stopped mining years ago), the VA is a 10/10, makes geo reso easy to achieve in teams you want to try. You just got Zhongli but trust me the longer you play Zhongli just keeps on giving. I have Nahida is a must have rank 1, shes just does for dendro what no others do, Kazuha 2nd if you dont have a c6 Sucrose, Then i have Zhongli 3rd and while Yelan is just so damn good and amazing. She just adds damage. What Zhongli brings to the table i value over Yelan, then Raiden at rank 5 because of how good shes in hyperbloom/energy fixer upper for teams.
One consideration about CR is abyss benediction card, it gives 8% CR (and 15 CD but there is no cap on CD). And for new player it can be worth fishing for that card, I usually able to get 2 of them staked by chamber 3 which often is the hardest chamber. So for me going above 85CR is questionably. But ofc if you can 36 star easily there is no need to pay attention to such details.
IMO, it's better to level up your characters to 90 now. Example is I have leveled my Lisa to 90 even before Dendro was released. And when Aggravate and Spread was synergistic with Dendro and Electro, I have 1 less character to worry about. It's like an investment. Crowning really depends on you. But for me, if I love the character, they deserve crowns. A have a triple crowned Amber because I love her. Meta for me is the synergies and reactions, not the characters. A freeze team with Kazuha and Shenhe can also be achieved with Rosaria, Layla and Sucrose and maybe even better. Having fun should always be top priority over meta.
Thanks for answering my question. I have a bad habit of hording 5-star artifacts "just in case" and often find myself maxing out my count. Even now, I have 1724 5-stars in my inventory.
One small correction, Raiden does around 45% of the team dmg at most on Raiden Hyper and reaches close to 60-70% only at C2, This is because Sara and Kazuha contribute a lot as well, where Sara gets all of her atk buff, Raiden Burst bonus, Bennett atk and Kazuha's buffs and her Burst has good scalings, whereas Kazuha triggers not only Swirls but also alot of Overloads in this team
That is wrong from most calcs and simulations I saw. Raiden Hyper still does roughly 60% of the teams damage, and although both Sara(20% +/- damage) and Kazuha(15% +/- damage) she still scales a lot with 90 level and better artifacts. Your 45% number is nowhere near the reality even for c0 raiden. Another thing to consider is that most people don't have their Sara very invested so their Sara deal a lot less damage than most calcs.
@ZhongliBabyShieldAlthough Sara before C6 is clunky, as a C6 unit she is better than fischl in AoE scenarios, and that becomes more true the more you invest in Raiden, be it resin or primogems.
Kind of sad that the video is less detailed that the several comments that explained. -Spread is an additive reaction, it bennefits but not as much as transformative reactions. -Kokomi WHEN she is the trigger and that's on two teams, Nilou and Taser, not always will she be the one triggering since well unless you're using her on field the jellyfish is pretty slow. About the crowns, use them on characters you like, some characters you use a lot might be worth it but the increase isn't really that good compared to the cost, it's a "gift for your favorite" thing. All the stats give a lower payoff the more you have of them, crit is a special case, don't overcap, try to get over 50% and everything in between is good, the 1:2 ratio is ideal but the second thing to consider is that one crit rate stat is worth double of one crit damage, meaning that a piece with 25% crit rate has the same value as one with 50% crit damage. Without going into mats is hard to pinpoint a stop but when you guys are looking at EM characters over 600 up to 1000 is good, as long as you reach the needed ER, same for traditional characters, reach the ER requirement first then look for 50/100 crit rate and improve from there, 60/120 70/140 and if the characters has a chance of overcapping (Ayaka, users of the new set, Rosaria, ETC), then adjust to stay under 100 considering any possible crit rate bonus, crit damage doesn't overcap, there's just a point where you're losing on other stats but that's REALLY hard. Weapons second stats are a thing to consider, Hu Tao as told here would be able to go for a HP sand if she uses a EM weapon, it's a value thing, attack sources are more common than other stats, a crit/ER/EM weapons help reaching goals with the set, let's say I have a Kuki on iron sting and I have 1165 EM I could consider another weapon since I got what I needed from the set. Defense is calculated when you take damage, it's useless to look for this stat unless the character uses it (Itto, Yun Jin) BUT the defense is taken into consideration for the shields as well, if you have a 200 defense traveler and a 3000 defense Zhongli you use the shield and swap the hits are calculated with the traveler defense and it will break faster than if you stayed with Zhongli. No comment on abyss teams, depends on the account, you could start you game with a Lyney and a Tighnari today and be pretty much set with the free characters you can get right now but next patch who knows? On the meta I give up and I'll use it for the same definition everyone in genshin is using it, YES you can clear the game without using meta characters, but you have to invest more, you can clear with Monogeo, geo isn't meta but Itto can smash any abyss with a decent build and the right team, would it be easier with units that are "meta" yes but everyone can 36* as long as they're at the investment level and have the mechanical skills and even then, I know I could probably clear a side with just Kazuha and Bennett but why would I subject myself to that? My "meta" pulls are to make abyss more enjoyable not easier, I can bruteforce abyss with Eula, I did for some months, but at the moment why would I? Nahida and Raiden just breeze pass it with half the investment and with a lower skill requirement, if I fuck up with Eula it may even kill the attempt, if I fuck up in hyperbloom I can still save it that's the difference, they are able to clear, the meta teams just ain't as punishing when you make mistakes.
TBF, I got into watching Jello 2-3 months ago when Zajef started to complain and whine about everything and anything a bit too much for my liking. Still respect the man for his great work as far as TC stuff goes.
@@harfi212 omfg tectone 😔 I used to love watching him up until he started to get into insane amounts of drama for no reason and then his "content" devolved into him just crying
I kinda disagree on crit rate stat not having diminishing returns until 100%. There is a high possibilty that one of the spiral abyss cards will have crit buff on them so if you are close to 100%, your crit rate buff from the abyss card will be wasted. So, I think it is a good idea to not get too close to 100% crit rate when building characters for the abyss.
I prefer to go more vertical than horizontal in my character inventory. The ones who i use a lot i try to max out in most regards including cons. In the end i do need less books and mats but the characters i use burn through the content. I saved about 7 months for wanderer c6 but there is nothing in this game a hyperxarry c6 can not melt solo. Tldr: the more characters you collect the weaker and more expensive your account gets to maintain.
As someone who's played for 3 years this is so true. I buy the BP now to keep up with the demand from my characters. When I complete my BP though I just drop everyone except one character.
Who to actually lvl up to 90? Any of your main abyss unit that: 1. that triggers bloom (kuki, thoma, etc) 2. Vv swirler built on EM (sucrose, venti, etc) . that's all. Everything else is upto who's your favourite characters you want to needlessly waste resources on. . If youre not doing abyss then dont waste your stuff. keep all your units at lvl 70+.
@11:37 4 star only teams with no cons: Salad team: Sucrose, Fischl, Yaoyao, Xingqiu Oven team: Barbara, Dendro MC (use collei instead if you don't consider him a 4 star lol), Kaeya, Thoma Bring fav on everybody on oven team to battery thoma. Since he's C0 you'll need 3 favs and them to be triggered multiple times. Full EM on Thoma and Sucrose, the rest of the characters don't really need much investment. You can bring exile set for additional energy if needed. Disclaimer: Those teams will not full clear every abyss, but it can 36 star some of the easier ones
8:51 EM isn't a TOTALLY dead stat on Wanderer since you can be swirling a good amount depending on team comp. It's just not his focus and it's like on par with flat atk (I haven't done the math between the two, but it's not great but not completely dead). A better example where EM is useless would have been EM on Ayaka in a freeze team.
Level 85 and level 87 are also good targets for some characters and even weapons. The last 3-5 levels in some cases provide little in the way of stats but are the most expensive. In some cases you can take an otherwise 90 character and stop at 87 or even 85 and there will be less than a 1% difference in performance, and times when taking an otherwise level 80 support up to 85 or 87 will have a noticeable increase and not be too expensive to do. The majority of cost from 80 to 90 is in the last 3-5 levels. Those levels are so expensive that doing this for a handful of characters will save enough XP books to pay for another character leveling up to 80. The same is true for weapons. Many of my support weapons are 85-87 because the stats you gain from the last few levels are so small but you save enough from 5 weapons' to have a 6th levels as well. The amount of Mora saved is also huge, in fact, it's mora savings that has the biggest returns by stopping at 87 even for your support weapons alone that will save millions.
omg, this is THE most helpful video! Thank you for making it. Never knew how particle generation worked with ER. I have a follow-up question on an earlier section-- One thing that I'm still unsure of is how to balance EM compare to Crit rate if a character is doing reactions like Xiangling? Is it something that should be balanced? Does EM not matter until critrate is up?
em matters. esp for xl as she can vape all her nado hits. u shld up both ideally, as em is basically another multiplier for xl vapes, think of it as reaction crit dmg. though em has true diminishing returns so u dont need to stack too high at the expense of ur other stats, 100+ would do for xl.
Nice! I have neglected my Althaitham, so today I thought I go grind him a gilded set, then started to check and I already had a set for him! And rolled pretty nice stats, leveled to level 90, now rising talents and now he steamrolls everything with his signature weapon, went clearly ahead my ayaka and such.
When considering the EM in the entire DPS calculation, consider the Internal Cooldown mechanics, especially when trading the Crits, ATK bonus, and Damage Bonus for the extra Reaction bonus
Thoma is an hp scaling character, for his shield. So it can be worth upping him to 90 if you are using him often enough for his shields, as they aren't so weak to be a "why bother?" nor so strong that it doesn't matter. The main reason not to take him to 90? Most people barely use him. Hu Tao is worth crowning, since she's usually part of a vape build, and her normal/charged attack is part of that entire multiplier chain. She's also typically used as a hypercarry. Her elemental skill, like with Yoimiya, that's a lower return on investment. Those two characters are a prime example of, if power is your goal, you do need to know where your character's power comes from. Also, crowning Benny won't boost your team damage by 3%. Not only is it not that much of an attack increase, it doesn't have 100% uptime nor will effect all your skills either. It is worth doing if you use him, since he, and that skill, is powerful. That said, I think when it comes to crowning, what you should crown are the characters you like to use the most. As far as crit rate goes, one reason to start shifting more to crit damage as you get closer to 100% crit rate is because there are crit rate buffs. Hu Tao, Rosaria, GMC, cryo resonance, food, and the Abyss crit rate card... It also leaves a bit of flex room in case you get a better overall stat-wise artifact. Also worth noting that, when you're talking 70% CR, 140% DR, at that point, being off balance doesn't make a big difference in overall DPS. And since most people just can't get perfect artifact balance, they tend to skew a bit toward higher CD value, because bigger numbers are more fun. Elemental Mastery has actual DR, unlike most other stats, which just have increased opportunity cost. Every point of EM benefits you less than the one before it. So while you do want some EM early on, when the benefit per point is at its highest, you won't want to do something like the 1:2 CR to DR thing when it comes to EM. Mind you, the drop off isn't crazy insane (early on, anyway... it gets more impactful the higher your EM is), but it is something to be aware of. Going from 100 to 200 EM benefits you more, flat number-wise, than going from 500 to 600. For defense, one other important thing: unlike in many games, the damage reduction is factored in before damage is applied to the likes of shields. So a 10k hp shield on Albedo will last longer than the same shield on a low defense Yoimiya. Not a reason to gear characters that don't scale off defense with defense, but just something to be aware of. As to META, it depends on how you define META. For most people, it just means the most effective tactics available, period. So if hyperbloom is very effective against an Abyss, and Nahida, Xingqiu, Raiden, and X is the most effective hyperbloom, then that's META, and everything else is not the best, and therefore bad. This type of META can easily leave a bad taste in people's mouths, with people trashing what other people choose to do in a game (which is something we do for fun for those of us who aren't content creators) and other such silliness. But the thing is, META exists for all sorts of things. If you want to play Eula, there's a META for Eula. And so hyperbloom with Eula can be the META Eula team, even though it isn't the META hyperbloom team. And in that way, yes, META can be fun. Knowing what things work well together lets you play all sorts of teams. But, conversely, just throwing together whatever you think is fun, and not sweating if that fun thing can't clear floor 12 of the Abyss, that's also fine. Fun is subjective, so there is no concrete answer to the question of "Is META fun?"
Meta is important for the account until you don’t feel it anymore, I agree that certain players should be very careful about resources management especially Mora, I’m low spender yet I always feel the weight of leveling characters or weapons 80-90 or arts 16-20 hence I focus on my favorite characters like Sucrose or most used DPS like my Yanfei.
I may have somewhat of an *unpopular/controversial opinion,* but I don't actually believe any characters *"need"* to be lvl 90. I put *"need"* in quotation marks because I do want to add some precisions/caveats to my statement. I think it will depend on your teams, and the level of investment that went into each character's build. If your artifacts aren't very strong, then you can 100% benefit a lot from ascending characters past lvl 80 (and potentially level them to 90 when it "matters"). On the other hand if you're someone who likes to grind artifacts and have very strong builds, you can get away with lower level characters. For example, I've kept My main hypercarries like *Ayaka, and Raiden* at lvl 60 (they are lvl 62-63 now simply from leveling on their own lol) while leveling some supports like Bennett and Shenhe past lvl 80. The rest of my characters are either lvl 60 or 70. (Even my Kazuha is still lvl 62). And my weapons are capped at lvl 80/80. This is how I personally look at it: What's the most "difficult" challenge that we have in the game? *The Spiral Abyss.* And if you can already beat the Abyss, is there really a point to further increase your Character's levels? Not really. And since I can already clear the Abyss 12 with the characters that I have, I don't feel like I *"need"* to level them further. Granted I have farmed artifacts since I've started playing the game, and all of my characters have excellent builds. In this specific Abyss cycle, I was able to clear Floor12 with these teams: *First Half Ayaka Freeze:* Ayaka(63) / Kazuha(62) / Shenhe(80) / Kokomi(62) *Second Half Rational:* Raiden(62) / Bennett(80) / Xiangling(70) / Xingqiu(70) (My Ayaka now has a *Mistsplitter R1,* but she was using Amenoma R3 in the past, and Raiden is on *TheCatch R5* for those interested) Finally, keep in mind that although I could clear the Abyss with these characters, I don't want to make it seem like it was a walk in the park either. It wasn't super easy, and I've had to start over a few times in order to get 3* stars per chamber. I will say that the Ayaka Freeze team with Shenhe was my Strongest team. Adding Shenhe to my roster *Skyrocketted* my damage through the roof! My Ayaka team would clear the first Chamber very quickly (even with a lvl 63 Ayaka because her supports are broken), and then my RationaL team would fight hard in the second half to finish within seconds over the 7min mark. As for overworld stuff, well, you don't need levels lol. *Please understand that I am a special case, and I may be a bit crazy for playing like this hahahaha.* For general purpose advice to the every day casual player, I would agree that ascending your characters past lvl 80 can be very beneficial (especially your main Damage dealers, your Reaction based characters, and you broken supports like Bennett / Shenhe / etc.). And as for leveling to 90, well, it can also have value, but I guess you already know my position on this lolll.
the only ones who got promoted to lv 90 are Kazuha and Lyney. The next one i’m working on is Yelan. Man.. i’m exhausted. The artifact farming for Lyney’s rough.
Nilou being a low investment unit is an understatement of the year. I spent MONTHS grinding TotM for Zhongli, Layla, and Kokomi so I have some stray unused pieces here and there. I just slapped two on Nilou and went to town on the last Sumeru domain for the remainder of 3.8 in an effort to gather one or two good enough ND sets in case Fontaine characters want them. I'm happy to say that I got a 64 HP (with Hydro resonance) Nilou by the end of it.
Sayu team for extreme F2P players with basically no gacha characters Sayu, Lisa, Collei, DMC Sayu is going to be your VV shredder + healer, possibly also on-field DPS. Either run an EM or HP weapon on her, such as Rainslasher or The Bell Lisa is either going to be your DPS or your TTDS character, but she could be the healer with prototype amber if Sayu isn't healing enough Collei is your Deepwood character, possibly also running Sac or Favonius to battery others DMC will be your off-field Dendro DPS, running Gilded Dreams and an EM weapon such as Iron Sting or the event weapon Toukabou Shigure if you somehow have access to that.
Thank you sooo much for the guide!!! You answered a lot of questions I had, especially that one about leveling characters which I was always wondering about 🤩🌟⭐💫✨🎉💐🌸🌈🤗
In a nilou team, its worth it to upgrade both hydro and dendro units to lvl 90. Depending on the variation of the nilou comp ur running(so either 3 hydro 1 dendro or 2 hydro 2 dendro) the main trigger changes. For 3h 1d comp, dendro unit is the main trigger and for 2d 2h comp,it depends on the units as both dendro and hydro units trigger blooms. Tldr : level everyone to 90 in a nilou comp.
"You can use Raiden, Yelan, Nahida, and Zhongli, and that's _really_ really braindead." I have been _specifically_ called out, down to the party order! (I mean, Main on Up, Defense on Down, it's obvious!). Had been Xingqiu, but swapped him out to level Yelan's Friendship, which was also maxed recently, so maybe I should swap my C6 XQ back in...but then, the skill-dashing and bow utility is very nice~
For the characters you keep 70 is characters you might eventually want to bring up to 80 or 90 for the dps increase, but with their 4 assention passive and level 6 (or 9 with cons) talents are good enough. For me this is always supports. Current roster of level 70 characters are diona, kirara, yaoyao and for 60/70 I also have Barbra and qiqi. Now eventually for nilou bloom variations, I might want level 90 Barbra and kirara, and if I ever get a frost unit I may want to level diona more, but for the most part, if I am good enough I sort of hold off on leveling them. For the longest time I was 60/70 on xingqui because I only needed him for hydro application against shields, but I never needed more damage. Then one abyss you had to use raiden national in order to clear it and you needed a lot of dps, so I ended up getting xingqui to 80/80 and was able to clear it. Now if I ever run into a dps wall, I can get him 80/90 and upgrade talents further, but for now he’s fine and I got more options.
If you're not spending money on resin like most streamers that talk about having huge amounts of crit and crit damage, don't beat yourself up trying to have 70% crit/200% damage. The odds of getting a set of artifacts like that are tiny. If you are just using free resin, you'll maybe see a good artifact once every few weeks. As someone who doesn't buy resin, it took me about three months of constant farming to get a Wanderer set with 60/140. Just so you don't get your expectations raised on what "investment" means. "Investment" = money. And I full stared the abyss with a Yoimiya team and a Raiden national team with total individual CVs in the twenties. It wasn't easy or anything, but it's mostly about having the right team for the job.
Level to 90 your hypercarries and EM scaling reaction based characters. Mostly anemo, dendro, electro, hydro characters. Some are worth to levelu up as well that scale well like Zhongli. But consider the cost of the materials cause going from 80 to 90 gives not much and mostly is not worth and is good for endgame players.
10:05 Also worth mentioning for Defense that the same shield on a high defense character will last longer than on a low defense character. Also, my most fun AND most braindead team for me is Thundering Furry Razor. Just drop dendro -> Hydro -> Pyro -> let Razor go unga-bunga. Also also, I see at the end there's a "what's the strongest all-male team" and I'm going to place my vote for the Aether-traveler variant of Thundering Furry Razor. Dendro Aether, Xingqiu, Bennett, Razor. As you can tell, I'm a huge fan of the team. :)
For artifacts, I found out HP main stat would usually go well with crits and/or EM/ER. On the contrary, HP does not usually match with DEF or ATK so I avoid keeping these pieces. Even so, I still got around 1300 pieces locked. I really need to do something about this habit of keeping too many artifacts "just in case".
For the last question : meta is fun to make your favourite character works the way you want. Like understanding their kit. For example I started learning it to main Zhongli even tho he is not a good dps. But thanks to the meta he is one of my strongest ! :) meta allows you to play anyone dps but also search fun gameplay, like burst support ganyu to melt your amber ? « Xiao » Venti ? Only normal attack Yanfei ?
The strongest all-male team is probably mono-geo: Itto, Gorou, Albedo and Zhongli Though I think a Cyno hyperbloom team, namely Cyno, Xingqiu, Baizhu and Dendro-MC would also be really good (but is only an all-male team if you picked Aether instead of Lumine)
I actually want a vid where you explain when to do what in a rotation like who makes first hit then next and next and so on. I get so confused what to do that I’m just mashing buttons till enemies die lol
I have a probably unpopular opinion: for those who are starting go meta until you can afford to have fun with the characters you want (but still go for who you want and all that, dont PULL for meta, PLAY meta)
Meta (in this context) is, by definition, the most efficient tactic available. Although this is primarily used to talk about the entire character roster, it can (and frankly should) be discussed in regard to individual characters- particularly those that are considered underperforming. Comparisons of damage relative to other units is frankly pointless to a good number of players; if somebody just wants to play a certain unit regardless of meta value, then they should be told that units meta if they’re okay with being unoptimal. If you have a particular character in mind, I highly recommend looking at KeqingMains (KQM) guides online for that character as well as a wide variety of other sources to see what the general consensus in regard to best teams and use cases. Amber, for instance, can be used in Melt, Burgeon, and Hu Tao Teams (the last as a elegy-pyro applying unit for VV). As such, people who want to play Amber and get good damage relatively quickly should be told about these teams. If you want, you can also consider getting into theorycrafting yourself; learn more about the games and units’ mechanics and synergies to draft up your own teams. It’ll be hard if you’re early game to test but it is a worthwhile project late game if you’re satisfied with your gear and abyss progress. Never forget that this is just a game, though, so don’t feel pressured to super optimally for any unit ever. Play as well or bad as you’d like, using resources to guide you as needed!
Does the level of a dendro applicator matter to Aggravate? Like my Kirara applies dendro, then Fischl and Yae trigger aggravate - does Kirara's level impact the aggravate damage at all, or just any Spread damage she triggers? Despite maining Aggravate for a while, I still don't fully understand how it's calculated
Without reactions only your base line stats matter. As example Kirara will trigger quechen if you start your rotation with Fischl but after thet she doesn't trigger any reaction. Better example would be Nahida in her case because she countinuisly apple dendro she will trigger considerable amount spread so in her case leveling her to 90 is more important, though in case of Kirara, yAOYao and Baizho you can leveled them to 90 because there defensive utilitise scale with HP so the level is can help with thet.
I think the Dendro character’s level doesn’t matter. They’re just an applicator. Once you add Electro that puts the enemy in the Quickened state. Any additional Electro attacks will now have their damage increased due to the Aggravate reaction. Your Electro characters are well built I’m sure so you should be fine. As long as your Electro characters have good Crit ratios and attack they will get a nice increase from the Aggravate bonus. Dendro is just the application element it’s damage is irrelevant. You only need to apply it from time to time but in Aggravate it’s all about Electro. I think you’re all set
In your case Kirara puts a dendro status and Fischl completes the reaction, so only Fischl's level will matter. If there is an electro status and Kirara completes the reaction then her level matters. But Kirara doesn't have a lot of damage, so it doesn't matter to her anyway
“abyss without non meta characters” Basically mono geo. (Itto, Gorou, Zhongli, Albedo) though this team is super investment and won’t work in every situation (ie shields, bosses with certain mechanics)
Dendro has a lot of HP scaling actually. There’s Yao Yao, Baizhu and somewhat for Kirara. Also I think it’s here’s a case for prioritizing resources to the most valuable returns but I really judge people for not leveling their characters to 90. They’re always the ones that die in coop domains. 🙄
who to 90? I would add characters you use all the time in spiral abyss and are already heavily invested, such as bennett (not a burgeon trigger) and ayaka (conditions being stuff like mistsplitter/shenhe/crownedburst). This would also likely be a Priority 3 as you would still want to put earlier XP into the other conditions.
Tbh, I don't have anybody but MC at 90 and don't plan on changing that. I hate artifact farming and I don't care about Abyss 12 anyway, so I have no need for lvl 90 characters. I'd much rather put those resources towards building more characters up to a playable niveau anyways. If my teams can 9-star Floor 11 and beat weekly bosses, that's good enough for me.
@ZhongliBabyShield yea I know, unfortunately if I swap around weapons n such my crit rate takes a huge nosedive for not much extra damage that doesn't even crit half the time 🤣
I missed the community post but whats the best way to optimize your resin once you’ve reached the point where you can get good artifacts? I saved basically all of my fragile resin but now im scared to use it
I never use fragile resin on leveling characters, I save it for artifacts, unless I am one boss run or domain run from getting them leveled. The relics you farm depend on your characters, there are some domains that are more efficient then others due to having either 1 or 2 universal sets and some that are only good for one character but if you have that one character you might want to farm it. There is also artifact strongbox where you can throw in bad artifacts in hopes to get better ones, but hat is only for when you are in a place where you are at the max limit because the strongbox needs 3 artifacts for 1 in return but after a while it is a nice change to save resin, but I only use it at max capacity.
I'd say keep the fragile resin unless you really wanna use it but definitely spend all resin that you get every day. What artifacts you get is completely up to who you want to play, so I'd recommend looking up a guide for your favorite characters (very good if some of them are supports/off-field dps since it's not optimal to run a team of 4 main dps), and then farm those domains. Good luck!
When it comes to fragile resin, the general advice is: Mostly save it until you are AR 45. That's when the highest level artifact domains open up, and you'll want to farm them a bunch. Mind you, that will probably make doing those initial artifact domain runs a bit painful to try solo, but you can avoid that issue by going co-op until you get passable five star artifacts on your main characters. So that's your "good artifacts" point. Once past that point, the main reason you save is in case something new opens up and you want to be able to pour a bunch of resin into it. For example, we just had Fontaine launch. That means new artifact domains, new talent domains, new weapon related domains, and new ascension bosses. All things you can't pre-farm. So if you wanted to get Lyney up to 90 with 9/9/9 talents and passable artifacts from the new set, within the first 3 days, you'd need fragile resins to burn. How much, if any, you want to save for that is purely up to you. But once the initial launch is out, then you're mostly looking at just new bosses, since you'll be able to pre-farm talent books. But it can still be worth saving up a bunch just in case you feel like trying to farm a given artifact set.
You use it to save your most valuable resource: Time If you just got a new character you want to build but you don't have time to spread it out over a week of resin or you have time right now to play but you're going to be busy later, that's when you use your fragile resin. In the grind to ar45 the big lesson was that drops especially of artifact domains were kinda bad for the resin so spend your regen resin on bosses and weapon mats and leylines which help set you up for endgame but everything else you can get by with living off the land and doing the story. At late game all uses for resin that would improve your characters are equal so use your fragile to just make best use of your time when that matters.
What is the optimal Attack to Crit ratio? (for example: 2000ATK + 250%CritValue vs. 2500ATK + 150%CV --assuming these represent a similar number of artifact substats and ratio CR:CD=1:2)
You're aiming for around +120% ATK, i.e. the green number (from gear) in your stats ATK line should be slightly higher than the white number (base attack). If it's skewed too heavy towards the green number, you're losing value from the damage formula due to each additional percentage point of ATK being worth less overall. I wouldn't worry too much about hunting for ATK stats specifically, as just ATK sands will get you most of the way, and there are also lots of external buffs like Bennett, Noblesse, etc. Outside of very niche situations (e.g. whale with crit signature weapon), crit will always be more valuable than ATK.
9:39 You are completely wrong about this one. Nahida needs more EM to buff active characters with her EM. It's not just good for her personal dmg but also for buffing your active character. I'm also not saying it you should have a god tier 1000 EM either
I think nahida only needs very high EM if there's no other high EM character in your team since her buff comes from the highest EM character in the team, like I have 1000 EM kuki in my team so you can get away with that buff part but there's also that crit rate buff for her e from EM so it doesn't change much if we have high EM or not if there's another high EM character in your team.
No you are completely wrong. Nahida shares em based on the highest em user on the team so if another character has the highest em you can drop some em stats for crit or dendro damage bonus
i just keep playing dps faruzan A week before fontaine came out. it just feels so good to use a anemo c6 mini Ganyu on top of having a cc. tho she is using r2 aqua and a zhongli and still hitting very hard and can some what able to compete with f2p meta team
really love your content jello, I've been playing this game for 3 years and you're one of the only people who explains things so clearly. keep up the good work!
Good video, I level characters based on how much I like and use them. I also level talents based on usage too since I feel it's worth it. My nilou is 6/9/9 since I was using her in vape and had her c1 lol.
I only level 90 characters I love currently the only characters that are 90 is Hutao ganyu bennet and when wanderer comes back he’s next everyone else stays in the 70-80 range My brain dead teams are Zhongli Xingqiu Hutao Bennet Zhongli Shenhe Bennet Ganyu
14:20 Nilou is fun AND braindead??!! i was already convinced i wanted her, but now i'm DEFINITELY getting her.❤😂 19:55 what about yaoyao and kirara? i would consider that piece for either my Yao or Kirara simply bc it's a good value for my resin atm.
How to build a "non-meta" team with 2 simple steps: 1. Try to atleast make a synergetic duo or trio with your favorites (e.g: Kokomi + Collei + Lisa). This will likely decide the team's dmg type. 2. Fill the empty spots with "meta" if you struggle, or find other viable options (e.g Sayu instead of Kazuha). Off-meta options might require more investment. Example: One of my favorite teams are Raiden + Miko + Kazuha + Jean (replaced Bennett). Jean has no function here except healing, but since I hate playing bennett, I chose to play one of my favorites instead.
I get the idea behind 90 now but what this is telling me is they all need 90 as I use them in many teams for different purposes, granted I don't have loads of characters so probably would be best I have like seven 5 stars lol
21:41 YEP IN CO-OP my friend w kazuha made me look at my yoimiya in disbelief 😮 i was shook to see ez 20k’s??? BRUH cant wait for kazuha to dodge me for the 3rd time 🤭💅🏽💀
If the character uses attack then pretty much always If the substat is important at least 80 Almost all weapons should be maxed but sometimes to save resources I leave them at 80 A couple like thrilling tales can be left at 1 xD
xiangling in raiden national team deals a significant amount of overload damage so lvl90 should be considered I think
TRUE! Mine deals like 11k-15k overload
Great point
mine deal 25k damage with Xiangling burst and guess what? you can up more the damage, because i saw a player do 60K damage with Xiangling burst
how much different xiangling dmg from lvl80 (80/90 ascension) to lvl 90?
@@DefinitelyNotAFerretit's only valuable for completionists
NGL, every single one of my level 89 characters are the direct result of me repeatedly hitting a wall in Abyss 5 seconds short and angrily muttering to myself,
"Okay, okay, I see how it is... let me just pump some of these books in and BLA-DOW!!!
Personally I’d rather do everything else before even starting artifacts.
Weapons-level-talent then artifacts
Hey there, how,s things?
leveling main dps to 90 is better than expected. the defense scaling difference between lv80-90 character on lv 100 enemies is a 2.8% damage increase, combined with extra base attack can be around a 4.3% increase.
Even as a Genshin veteran, I've been watching and loving your videos! They're always super well-made and interesting. Keep up the great work man!
I appreciate it~~
The concept of understanding meta and using that knowledge to make non-meta characters viable is really useful.
I love how Kaveh plays, so I've been working on a Kaveh bloom team and even though it is nowhere near finished, I've been really happy with the performance because he has good units backing him up.
Also enemy defence scales (partly) of the difference of lvl between your character lvl and the enemy lvl
Prove it
One small correction, Raiden does around 45% of the team dmg at most on Raiden Hyper and reaches close to 60-70% only at C2, This is because Sara and Kazuha contribute a lot as well, where Sara gets all of her atk buff, Raiden Burst bonus, Bennett atk and Kazuha's buffs and her Burst has good scalings, whereas Kazuha triggers not only Swirls but also alot of Overloads in this team
Nooo
Your vids have legit saved me from making mistakes that woulda taken weeks of resin to rectify
Jello entering his Zajef era
literally 😭😭❤️
Like ive seen him comment on alot of zajef's videos, hes a big fan lmao
TBF, I got into watching Jello 2-3 months ago when Zajef started to complain and whine about everything and anything a bit too much for my liking. Still respect the man for his great work as far as TC stuff goes.
@@radcat4317and zajed entering his tectone era. Yeah, he's whining too much now.

I used to love watching him up until he started to get into insane amounts of drama for no reason and then his "content" devolved into him just crying
@ZhongliBabyShieldI disagree.
This was probably my favorite video of yours. Great job.
Any of your main abyss unit that:
1. that triggers bloom (kuki, thoma, etc)
2. Vv swirler built on EM (sucrose, venti, etc)
.
that's all.
Everything else is upto who's your favourite characters you want to needlessly waste resources on.
.
If youre not doing abyss then dont waste your stuff. keep all your units at lvl 70+.
@11:37 4 star only teams with no cons:
Salad team: Sucrose, Fischl, Yaoyao, Xingqiu
Oven team: Barbara, Dendro MC (use collei instead if you don't consider him a 4 star lol), Kaeya, Thoma
Bring fav on everybody on oven team to battery thoma.
Duuude, sweet crit balance on your hutao its satisfying :)
Awesome video!
omg, this is THE most helpful video!
This was very helpful! Thank you so much for answering my question ☺️🤗
Found this super helpful! I missed the community post but ill keep my eyes open for the next batch 👀
In terms of meta? Depends on what you’re wanting to achieve.
Overall? No meta doesn’t matter.
*The Spiral Abyss.*
And if you can already beat the Abyss, is there really a point to further increase your Character's levels? Not really.
And since I can already clear the Abyss 12 with the characters that I have, I don't feel like I *"need"* to level them further.
Granted I have farmed artifacts since I've started playing the game, and all of my characters have excellent builds.
In this specific Abyss cycle, I was able to clear Floor12 with these teams:
*First Half Ayaka Freeze:* Ayaka(63) / Kazuha(62) / Shenhe(80) / Kokomi(62)
*Second Half Rational:* Raiden(62) / Bennett(80) / Xiangling(70) / Xingqiu(70)
(My Ayaka now has a *Mistsplitter R1,* but she was using Amenoma R3 in the past, and Raiden is on *TheCatch R5* for those interested)
Finally, keep in mind that although I could clear the Abyss with these characters, I don't want to make it seem like it was a walk in the park either.
*Please understand that I am a special case, and I may be a bit crazy for playing like this hahahaha.*
For general purpose advice to the every day casual player, I would agree that ascending your characters past lvl 80 can be very beneficial (especially your main Damage dealers, your Reaction based characters, and you broken supports like Bennett / Shenhe / etc.).
14:20
"Nilou for the most fun and braindead team." I agree too much with this
Sayu team for extreme F2P players with basically no gacha characters
Sayu, Lisa, Collei, DMC
Sayu is going to be your VV shredder + healer, possibly also on-field DPS. Either run an EM or HP weapon on her, such as Rainslasher or The Bell
Lisa is either going to be your DPS or your TTDS character, but she could be the healer with prototype amber if Sayu isn't healing enough
Collei is your Deepwood character, possibly also running Sac or Favonius to battery others
DMC will be your off-field Dendro DPS, running Gilded Dreams and an EM weapon such as Iron Sting or the event weapon Toukabou Shigure if you somehow have access to that.
"You can use Raiden, Yelan, Nahida, and Zhongli, and that's _really_ really braindead."
I have been _specifically_ called out, down to the party order!
Bro does not stop to take a breath at all my brain hurts trying to follow this without natural pauses to process.
Whats your team comb with zhongly? and artifacts build?
22:57 "whats the strongest all male team" if the anwser wasn't mono geo i'm gonna be sososo surprised 😭😭
There’s one more that could be close
I like this channel.
Its like the new Mtashed but without the negativity.
Great video! ty for the fantastic info
great vids! i always look for your vids everyday bcs it s fun to look at while playing genshin
All of them, you eventually don't know where to waste your resin anyway. Might as well lvl90 everyone.
Thanks again for another superb video! Could you please make one on elemental shields? There's no a single informative video on enemy shields so far❤
12:25 finally someone knows that f2p can have signature weapons and constellations too
The strongest all-male team is probably mono-geo: Itto, Gorou, Albedo and Zhongli
Though I think a Cyno hyperbloom team, namely Cyno, Xingqiu, Baizhu and Dendro-MC would also be really good (but is only an all-male team if you picked Aether instead of Lumine)
Off topic but if you like racing marbles have you seen Jelle’s Marble Runs? Highly recommend
Bro my xiangling did like 13k each hit with throwaway artifacts it was crazy
Jello: crit rate is important, 2:1 ratio, 100% is the target.
Also Jello: builds all characters heavily into crit damage, 4:1 with change
They’re messed up builds from testing 😭
I actually want a vid where you explain when to do what in a rotation like who makes first hit then next and next and so on. I get so confused what to do that I’m just mashing buttons till enemies die lol
I have a probably unpopular opinion: for those who are starting go meta until you can afford to have fun with the characters you want (but still go for who you want and all that, dont PULL for meta, PLAY meta)
Please make a video on the topic of how to use non meta characters in the Abyss.
If you have a lot of 5 star weapon, you can use non meta. No playing around at abyss floor 12, just bring the meta.
Just know ehat theyre good at and build and use them properly. It's that easy
@@lawfulgoodnun1646 But there should be a certain level of synergy between the party members tho?
Check the cheat sheet ~ but no
Just the spread damage she triggers!
In your case Kirara puts a dendro status and Fischl completes the reaction, so only Fischl's level will matter. If there is an electro status and Kirara completes the reaction then her level matters. But Kirara doesn't have a lot of damage, so it doesn't matter to her anyway
“abyss without non meta characters”
Basically mono geo. (Itto, Gorou, Zhongli, Albedo) though this team is super investment and won’t work in every situation (ie shields, bosses with certain mechanics)
@ZhongliBabyShield yeah mono geo is definitely horrible in floor 12. I did use mono geo floor 12 chamber 3 second half , cause they’re comfy and fun
10:26 Hyperbloom missing is unbelievable
Dendro has a lot of HP scaling actually. There’s Yao Yao, Baizhu and somewhat for Kirara.
Also I think it’s here’s a case for prioritizing resources to the most valuable returns but I really judge people for not leveling their characters to 90. They’re always the ones that die in coop domains. 🙄
Thanks!
Thank you too~~~
Early, thanks for the useful video!
8:16 this is why i keep my alhaitham at 92/190 because im basically guaranteed good spread damage 👍
@ZhongliBabyShield yea I know, unfortunately if I swap around weapons n such my crit rate takes a huge nosedive for not much extra damage that doesn't even crit half the time 🤣
Love the cheat sheets!
Good luck!
When it comes to fragile resin, the general advice is:
Mostly save it until you are AR 45.
You use it to save your most valuable resource: Time
If you just got a new character you want to build but you don't have time to spread it out over a week of resin or you have time right now to play but you're going to be busy later, that's when you use your fragile resin.
@@phoenixlau Brilliant. Thank you
Oh it's everyone that needs lvl 90
Would love to see a video for non-meta unit teams
I just got Deyha to level 90 yesterday. Stuff gets really expensive beyond level 8 talents! Lol. Trying to figure out who to do next.
Unlike other characters like Sucrose or Kazuha for example, Nahida's buff is based on the character with the highest EM in the party.
No you are completely wrong. Nahida shares em based on the highest em user on the team so if another character has the highest em you can drop some em stats for crit or dendro damage bonus
@@sreeragsathyan7349 You're right. The way he said it is kinda misleading because of how A1 passive works
i just keep playing dps faruzan A week before fontaine came out. it just feels so good to use a anemo c6 mini Ganyu on top of having a cc. tho she is using r2 aqua and a zhongli and still hitting very hard and can some what able to compete with f2p meta team
Same, DPS Faruzan is quite good. I use Bennett + Fischl + Layla and it’s great.
Don't know if it has been asked before, but are able to Snapshot Crit Buffs (like Rosaria's Crit Rate buff)?
Just a suggestion my guy, but maybe add timestamps for people who want to rewatch specific segments, especially for guides videos like these
Thanks bro.. Very informative 😊
really love your content jello, I've been playing this game for 3 years and you're one of the only people who explains things so clearly. keep up the good work!
Good video, I level characters based on how much I like and use them. I also level talents based on usage too since I feel it's worth it. My nilou is 6/9/9 since I was using her in vape and had her c1 lol.
Is there any resources for helping me with tuning my playstyle? Id like to know more about tech, cycles, movement, etc.
Watching abyss clears of your team is a good way. I wonder how I can make that type of content paletable
I level 90 whatever character I like, that includes Layla, so yes. I know it's a lot of resources but what the heck.
Non-meta spyral abyss builds LETS GOOOOOOO (36 star challenge 🤔)
I only level 90 characters I love currently the only characters that are 90 is Hutao ganyu bennet and when wanderer comes back he’s next everyone else stays in the 70-80 range
My brain dead teams are
Zhongli
Xingqiu
Hutao
Bennet
Zhongli
Shenhe
Bennet
Ganyu
Furina Nahida Yao Yao and my Queen Lisa. I can barely rotate my team because they just obliterate everything so quickly
14:20 Nilou is fun AND braindead??!! i was already convinced i wanted her, but now i'm DEFINITELY getting her.❤😂
19:55 what about yaoyao and kirara?
i would consider that piece for either my Yao or Kirara simply bc it's a good value for my resin atm.
True true I generally use instructors for kirara and yao yao since deepwood you don’t need with aggravate and nahida holds it in Nilou teams ~
Great video. Thanks
How to build a "non-meta" team with 2 simple steps:
Example:
One of my favorite teams are Raiden + Miko + Kazuha + Jean (replaced Bennett). Jean has no function here except healing, but since I hate playing bennett, I chose to play one of my favorites instead.
People say the '90% crit rate' thing because of the extremely common abyss card that gives crit ratee
Did you forget that there is a dendro healer that skills with HP?
I get the idea behind 90 now but what this is telling me is they all need 90 as I use them in many teams for different purposes, granted I don't have loads of characters so probably would be best I have like seven 5 stars lol
21:41 YEP IN CO-OP my friend w kazuha made me look at my yoimiya in disbelief 😮 i was shook to see ez 20k’s??? BRUH cant wait for kazuha to dodge me for the 3rd time 🤭💅🏽💀
I got this video after lvling up my faruzan and layla to lvl 90 lol. I think it's fine becuase i use them all the time with wanderer.
How do you know if you should max level a weapon???
If the character uses attack then pretty much always
If the substat is important at least 80
Almost all weapons should be maxed but sometimes to save resources I leave them at 80
A couple like thrilling tales can be left at 1 xD
@@JelloImpact noted, what about refinement vs weapon copies??
Great video :D
