  • We recently caught wind od a Basement Digout failure here in Denver and wanted to swing by to record. We were amazed at what we found and found it import to document and share this with you all the importance of contracting the right qualified people for such jobs. These jobs looks easy, and for the most part they are. but that's no reason to cut corners or go in blind. Safety is Number 1, always.

That's heart breaking honestly. I'm not gonna blame the home owners because you never know how things were presented to them by the other company. They could have been reputable for all we know. Now they are homeless and in deep trouble. Sad really.

This is why you should hire a specialty contractor for this kind of work. Not just someone who knows how to dig and or pour concrete.

I met you bro at a house job next door to me where he was running the new mini pump I think, I told him I like your videos. I run a residential design biz.

Yes it doesn’t seem as though the contractor assessed the risk correctly, and therefore didn’t support the existing structure adequately.

I was under the impression that basement digouts were for rich people. For a house like this I don't even understand why you'd do a digout instead of just tearing the old house down and rebuilding

They're not terribly complicated if done correctly. I did mine under my cabin by myself. I calculated the amount of shoring I thought I would need and then tripled it.
