Chihuly Garden and Glass

“Chihuly Garden and Glass,” a long-term exhibition of the artist’s work, opened at Seattle Center in 2012, featuring gallery spaces, a sculpture garden, and a glasshouse designed by Chihuly. The exhibition provides insight into Chihuly’s inspiration and influences, and brings together many of the elements of his work including glass, drawings, large architectural installations, and his personal collections.

Is there ever a time when this museum can be toured at night? In seeing one of the final scenes of the video with the lights I realize that it must be a totally new experience in darkness. I have been there twice now and immediately want to go again.

How do the outside pieces withstand the weather?

The under structure is likley stainless steel. If the under structure is aluminuim, it is likley marine grade aluminum considering proximity to saltwater. Carbon steel is ruled out if the art is installed for posterity
