    A quick loot at the uu80b QRP CW transceiver designed by ‪@G3XBM‬ ( 450mW ). A simple transceiver circuit with only two transistors, designed for the 80 meter band.
    Note: In the video I messed up the callsign, sorry about that. Is G3XBM not G3XMB.

    I just posted a reel on Instagram with the RX demo... for the latest modified version of the TRX... on the 40m band.

    I have had the circuit for the uu80b in my stack of papers for a few years but never had wired it and tried it out. I have used a Pixie a few times with about the same power out so this circuit you are using should work fine. I have plenty of 40m crystals so will try that band first. Now seems a good time. As for learning Morse Code, I first just learned the letters and numbers in order back in 1973 and after about a week I started to convert code in my head as I would drive past road signs on the highway. I reached the required 5 wpm for my Novice in just a few weeks of practice in 1974 so just relax and try my method without stress ;-) 73 de wa4jat

      I have to start learning as well. Maybe find a little time every day. The code is what got me into the hobby in the first place... and now that I have a license I don't know the code haha. The transceiver is nice indeed. There was no propagation today on 80m but I want to hear it on RX as well. 73, YO6DXE

      @@dxexplorer I've found the one minute code group exercises on LCWO net to be very good. I set them to run for a minute and I might only do one at a time.
      Just wondering... this circuit has been attributed to G3XMB.... I'm wondering if that is a typo and it should be G3XBM. Thanks for uploading this video. 73.

      @@dxexplorer Looking forward to hear about future contacts on your little rig and the code. Getting on summer here so 80m has way too much QRN until About November so I tend to stay on 40 and 20 cw and always QRP🙂

      @marknesselhaus4376 QRP for life 💪❤😄. Ohhh I will sure learn the code soon. Is way too much fun not to get on air on CW. Meanwhile I will build a few more "toys" like this one and have fun with them later. 73, YO6DXE ( same here with the propagation on 80m )

      @@dxexplorer "Toys", I never have thought of them that way. Each build is such a wonderful learning experience and discovering how much you can do with so little. My little "Michigan Mighty Mite" single transistor transmitter works the entire eastern states from North Carolina. Simple receivers are the real challenge in keeping them basic yet stable. I am only up at 3am as I could not sleep, so got up for coffee and see if 40m is open. Nope, just a few weak stations on there now ;-)

      I can't wait to build the final one in an enclosure. Making something really tiny to fit in my pocket 😁. Is a really fun transceiver to build and the power consumption is minimal. 73, YO6DXE

    Really nice stable X tone on this Ciprian... once you have a filter to trap harmonics you should be good to go more or less...

    • @dxexplorer
      @dxexplorer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I want to play with it a little before adding a filter and see if I can improve the sensitivity and the audio output... is a little poor on both. Also lots of AM broadcast band interferences so I want to see if I can get rid of those too )). For now testing the 80m and 40m bands. I couldn't get it to work properly on 20m yet. 73, YO6DXE

      @@dxexplorer i'm waiting for a new video of updating about this wonderful project, also for the tests in 40 meters band

    • @dxexplorer
      @dxexplorer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @ScratchyCode if you go on my channel on the community tab... have a look at the schematic I use at the moment. It works both for the 80 and the 40m band just as it is. Probably I will make little adjustments in time... but for now that is what I use and I like it. The audio output is still a bit low... or maybe just the propagation is bad and I can't hear much ))).

    Great video! I see a very nice landscape behind you. Nice transceiver and i believe if ypu build it on a pcb you will have more or less 1W at the output. 73

      @dxexplorer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I may adjust the schematic just a little and see if I can get better sensitivity on RX... I am more than happy with the TX side. Even though I have a feeling that replacing one tranzistor may give me even more power. Love it though even as it is. P.S. I also love the new landscape... I wake up with it every morning 😁. 73, YO6DXE

    • @dxexplorer
      @dxexplorer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I will do that in the next video on this trx. I wanted in this video but there was no propagation. I will post a reel on Instagram these days as well. Is not that sensitive though ... but you can copy stronger stations with no problems at all. And also is not very loud... so I am thinking on adding one more transistor on the AF side. I still like it as it is because is so simple 😁. 73, YO6DXE

    I see you, as many other TH-camrs, are sponsored by PCBWays and competitors. However, aren't customs fees high when importing/shipping from China? For me it is a no-go.

    • @dxexplorer
      @dxexplorer  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It depends... Having them on my side supporting me helped me a lot. On the customs expenses, it depends on each person and how much they are willing to pay for something. Because of the quality I get on the PCB boards... those customs expenses are acceptable for me. I am more than happy to pay for that than spending a lot of time making homemade PCB boards that turn out far from those made by them. Now is the other thing too where people kind of got used to pay very little for everything... but at the same time wish for quality... and we all know that is not possible. So personally I don't mind paying those fees as is not much anyway. Others may think differently and is their right to do so. 73, YO6DXE
      P.S. We have PCB manufacturing companies here in Romania as well. Wanna know the costs ? Is nearly double the price of what I would pay PCBWay + shipping + customs taxes. So no wonder I don't order from here )))
