The beach restaurants are busy on weekends when locals come from Phnom Penh. You are right that the buildings are new, city built those to prevent fires and raw sewage to be released in sea. But some old bars/restaurants are still ther,e, just in new building now. Like Khin's Shack that has been on that beach for closer 20 years. And yes the beaches are much cleaner than before. As is water too, because no raw sewage released from the huts and bungalows anymore.
@pp-bf2ec G'day, the restaurants that i seen were not busy , this was Sunday night that I seen and Monday morning, so just an observation on the day I understand, when we walked further along towards otres beach plenty of khmer people enjoying the restaurant n beach , glad to see them enjoying there , yep we stopped n had a meal there too 😀, thanks for watchin, Catchya...

@@heymaddo Yes, Saturday and Friday evening. Sunday afternoon they already drive back to Phnom Penh.
