- Ashanti got one mother of a surprise ahead of welcoming her and Nelly's first child together! The pregnant singer, 43, was adorably shocked upon realizing her hip-hop star beau, 49, had reportedly arranged a baby shower for her at Dolce & Gabbana's baby boutique in New York City on June 30. Photos and video of the event have circulated on social media from the couple's friends, including rapper Fat Joe, and one clip shows Ashanti admitting to party guests that she had no idea what was in store when she and Nelly arrived to the venue! The songstress bared her growing belly in a breezy white-and-yellow two-piece ensemble for the event, and she and Nelly beamed while he recalled the now-viral moment he hugged her to "break the ice" during a 2021 Verzuz battle. Fans were thrilled to see the pair rekindle their romance two years later, more than a decade after they first parted ways. The music stars confirmed their engagement and Ashanti's pregnancy in April and it seems they also have another major milestone to celebrate! Records obtained by multiple outlets in recent weeks indicate that Ashanti and Nelly privately married in Missouri in December 2023, though they have yet to publicly confirm the news. For now, they couldn't seem happier ahead of new parenthood!
