- The cast of Netflix's Heartstopper compare notes on who had the weirdest on-set habits, who fluffed up their lines most, what they all nicked from wardrobe - and why Joe Locke's coffee habit resulted in some awkward kissing scene rehearsals.
Joe Locke, Kit Connor, Yasmin Finney, and Will Gao chat to Attitude about bringing the show to life and providing good LGBTQ representation.

Yeah wel i think they had to have certain qualities in looks per role for auditions
everyone is perfect for their roles but nick and tori are the best cast, they both look IDENTICAL to their characters
@@rylout1786 EXACTLY!!! They’re all perfect and they play their parts extremely well and true to the comic, but Tori and Nick are just one step beyond everyone else. It’s like they stepped out of the comic!

This is the best cast I’ve ever seen for an adaptation. All the actors are so incredibly talented and portray the characters so well (and that’s just from the trailers!)
And they look exactly alike too, almost like they were pulled out straight out of the comics

I have never seen such a perfect, on-point AF cast for an adaptation! As someone who was deeply in love with the comics, this is heaven. And props to Kit for making Nick even more adorable, which I didn't know was possible LOL. I'm at that after-watching a series phase and am already nostalgic so watch me rewatch this 100 times more~~

yasmin (elle) really gives off the energy of a confident, caring and supportive friend that everyone needs in their lives in this clip. when kit (nick nelson) had finished talking about his most embarrassing moment on set, she immediately encouraged him with 'but you tried, though', 'you tried'. and then when they were talking about actors fluffing up their lines she said 'that's the beauty of it. everyone makes mistakes.' in the last question, william (tao) pointed out that joe (charlie) had drunk a lot of coffee on set and all 4 of them agreed, yasmin also said 'that worried me a bit'. these details really make a good impression on me about yasmin's personality tbh.

They’re all so lovable, but the most shocking thing to me is Will and how different he is from Tau. Everyone else seems pretty similar to their characters, but Will and Tau seem like totally different people. They’re all great and the show was excellent.
Yeah I was shocked how quiet and calm he was, totally different from the character
And really much more handsome to be honest.
I think will is quiet and introspective but also really funny and can liven up the mood

The way that Kit and Joe handle talking about kissing scenes is so effortless. They joke about it which doesn’t make it awkward at all.

The more of these interviews I watch of Kit and Joe, I fall more and more in love with Joe. He seems such a sweet, lovely, decent, kind, warm young man. His voice is so sweet.

I really really liked season 1 and i hope to be a season 2 soon. I strongly recommend this series to younger kids because its a healthy love story of two people and a good example to the next generation of kids. In contrast with other gay series on Netflix this is honest, pure love story.
Netflix has just confirmed they have renewed Heartstopper for TWO more seasons!!

I walked away loving this series so much, I knew nothing of the book/web toon material and simply gave it a try off the strength of it just being on Netflix but after doing more research the cast literally embodied everything about the characters so much so that it’s hard to see them outside of their character. The casting is so on point it’s scary Im hoping for great things from the show and cast moving forward it was such a good watch.

I loved this
story to an embarrassing level. I have never seen a movie or show, (and I am a huge~! Book,
Theater, TV and Movie fan, I believe that the thing that separates humans from
animals is our story telling), where every single actor, every single seen and
every single cinema graphic was freakin PERFECT. This offering was cathartic for me. I have been out for 44 years, but this fulfilled something in me that has
been missing all along. I have seen several other gay love stories, but this is the
most innocent, sweet and wholesome love story I have ever seen. When I say that I loved it to an embarrassing level, (Dear God~!) I mean,
I binge watched it 8 times in a week and a half. (and I have only ever binge
watched one other show, ever, and that was only once through.) What sets this master piece aside from all other gay stories is both that
it is one of the first none tragic love stories and it has not one single seen
for the prurient of heart. Just awesome... Many tears of joy...
I absolutely adore every member of this cast! 🥰 They are all so endearing and they embody their characters so well. This is such a special series and I’m so grateful they brought it to life so genuinely and beautifully.
