Nice video, I would just like to add for any DIY people watching
I’ve done heaps of these using a similar method, I would make a cut with an angle grinder (4”) all the way round the waste to isolate the waste from the bath thus minimising any possible damage to existing drainage, in addition I would always at least wear a long thick sleeved top and extra protection round my legs and feet, better eye protection as well, can get a bit cumbersome but having done quiet a few of these you learn.

It's easier to just remove the trap than get the angle grinder out, but the pipework on this ran uphill so was being replaced.
Definitely long sleeve, I started out with one but this is hot work so it didn't last long. 😓

@@50plusdad-uk If access allows yes best to remove the trap, but often times access wont allow it. thumbs up for the video, greetings from down under.

@maccjw Thanks 🙂 this was so tight for access, the floor boards had been cut out to allow a shallow trap to fit no idea wtf they were thinking when they put this in. The whole house is like this worse thing I've found so far is cardboard columns between ceiling and floor to support the cement used to replace a missing part of the floor board.
