Fantastic forestry! The Kobelco SK130LC-11 operating in Latvia

Latvia is among the top ten largest exporters of softwood sawn timber, birch plywood, OSB and pellets in the world. The country is covered in over 3.25 million hectares of trees, the management of which is handled by just a handful of contractors.
One of these specialist contractors is Limbazi based Sia Meža Pūces. Formed in 2011 by Ugis and Didzis Peresevics, the family-owned company specialise in forestry work and operate across a wider area around Limbazi. Currently employing ten people, the company, like many contractors of their type, has seen the mechanisation of their operations result in an increase in both productivity and safety.
Through fleet mechanisation, the company has added four excavators from 14 to 18 tonnes operating weight. The latest machine to join the fleet as a second SK130LC machine. Purchased from Baltic Agro, the local Kobelco dealer the SK130 has recently joined the first machine following on from its impressive service.
