Very enjoyable, and so much great information. I love that you put a soundtrack to your beautiful garden! Here in Brooklyn, I have a huge maple tree that dominates my small garden so I had to do a lot of research on plants that TRULY are shade plants, such as woodland plants. I get very little dappled sun that rotates around the yard throughout the day. I found some plants that actually lose their variegation in too much sun, so I look for interesting leaf shapes and variegation. I do also love fragrance--so I have a few Daphnes and edgeworthias, and I also found fragrant hostas with beautiful variegation. I love ferns too. I found that many Japanese plants have to be in shade. It's such a challenge, but my baby garden (started during COVID like many people) is finally looking like something this year. ☺

Wow! Your garden sounds like a plant paradise. It's always an exciting challenge to replicate the natural conditions for the plants you bring into your space. Thanks for the compliment. Enjoy your garden!

Hi😊, New subscriber here. I enjoyed your video and garden. I live in central Florida and I see we grow almost the same plants here. I mainly grow orchids and I am looking forward to your visit to the friends that also grow orchids. You are correct about flowering plants. My orchids are not much to look at unless they are in bloom.

You can mount your orchid on the palm tree, they are epiphytes.

Do you get your plants locally, especially the aroids

Yes, I buy my plants locally, but some of the sellers would have imported them.

Thanks for your response. I'm green with envy because in Zimbabwe the options are very limited. Happy tropical gardening

Thanks for that. I noticed too that the pot was absorbing extra moisture, so I've put it on a stand.
