Wow, this is really inspiring. I graduated from from this school formerly known as Christopher Columbus HS back in 2005 before it was broken up into 4 smaller schools due to the abysmal graduation rate of like 40% and a very high incidence of crime. Back then every student had to go through metal detectors before entering the building. NYPD school safety units patrolled the building especially at the end of the day as if they were. Hallway brawls and stairway sexing were common place. Nonetheless, there were a few studious students who wouldn't let all the nuisance distract them. This school made me who i'm and I will always be grateful for the free education I received here. Congrats to Ricardo and every student who aspire for greatness. This video should serve as a reminder to all minority students in inner city public schools that, with determination and hard work you can succeed.
Congrats to Ricardo and his entire family. To be the first in his family to attend college is no small accomplishment and I cannot imagine how proud they must all be of him. I wish you great success.
