    I love Quin. Rose, such an intense blue undertone, I love how it can go hot or cold in different mixtures. great primary red!

    Hi Vicki, Your videos are great. I find them really useful with many wonderful suggestions for unusual colour combos. In this video, are you using Lead Tin Yellow Light or Lead Tin Yellow Lemon?

    Hi Vicki. Your videos are great. Would you consider showing us which pigments you would select for a split primary palette? So, a warm and cool for each primary and which white would be best. Thanks so much 😊

    Beautiful color, I agree. I paint with acrylics. What color would be a good substitute for this in acrylic paints? I’m working on on rose painting now and my next one will be a peony so this would be beautiful.

      kim jacquay the pigment name is quinacridone rose, it should be available in other media too, sometimes it's called 'opera rose' 'permanent rose' or 'quinacridone pink' instead. It's a fab colour for flowers!

      'Magenta' or 'primary red' are also suitable.

      @@mariskanl6873 magenta is very very bad one .If you are new on this field you will have to suffer a lot.

      @@abhijitbhattacharyya6478 The color I mentioned, Magenta (pigment name: PR122) is very suitable to paint deep pink peony flowers (or roses etc) with. It is a very vivid and and permanent color. But it is not primary red if you mean that. Quinacridone is PV19 and comes more close to primary red than Magenta(PR122)

      @@mariskanl6873 actually p r 122 is a true primary red, why do you think they use it in CMYK printing?

    There is no red, orange, Crimson or yellow as warm as your voice sound.
    You know a lot about colours... but your warm voice supports every interest in keep on listening.

    Would you use Quinacridone Rose for peonies? If so mixed with what or possibly diluted as a glaze? Thanks

    • @VickiNorman
      @VickiNorman  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely, it's great on it's own for hot pink flowers. Add cadmium yellow for a more orangey red, or use it with ultramarine or amethyst to produce something more purple. Any of the above will work as a glaze.Titanium white will bring up the blue notes, lead white or warm white will stay more red as it gets lighter.

    So Should i get the Quinacridone rose or magenta?

    • @fidrewe99
      @fidrewe99 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you want more intense orange, go for quinacridone rose, if you want more intense violets, go for quinacridone magenta. Since intense orange can already be mixed well with bright red and muted orange tones are often very useful, I would recommend the magenta. I also prefer its color right out of the tube, as it's a little more distinct from red.
