  • In this video Im going to show you how I made $5k a month using the Design Joy model. A skeptic at first I soon found that using the Design Joy Model was actually the system I had been looking for all along.
    The lack of meetings, freedom and automation really helped me create amazing websites and tools for my clients. I hope this video helps you avoid some of the pitfalls that I encountered along the way.

    You are the first person I've found so far testing out Brett's model. I'm trying to find simple automation methods to the onboarding and workflow. I really believe this model is future proof for the next 5/10 years minimum and have been testing it with a few clients of mind before actually marketing it. Thanks for the insight!!!!

    Hey Harry! Great content, I love the transparency and that you're taking us along your journey. I recently watched a video from Chris Do interviewing the founder of DesignJoy. It is a great agency model. Wish you the best that it works out!

    What is the typical scope of these "unlimited requests"? Do you get requests for full Webflow websites that you can deliver in 72 hours?

    • @HarryRoperMckay
      @HarryRoperMckay  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      No - you usually help the client break down a request into something smaller. For example a wireframed homepage would take me 48 hours to deliver. It's about communicating up front to set expectations, whilst always making sure you are delivering at a constant pace.

    • @HarryRoperMckay
      @HarryRoperMckay  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes quite a common issue. Upfront communication with the client + a good relationship can help when you have an emergency... but I'm definitely for building this out beyond just yourself and having a team that you can lean on if you get stuck.
      Final way to cover your bases is to have something in your contract and make sure your clients are aware that you're the only designer and things might pause one week due to sickness.
      You can communicate that nicely in your onboarding !

    Hey Harry! I truly value your transparency. I'm setting up an agency where I create and manage websites for professionals like therapists. While I handle everything, including hosting, I'm having a tough time marketing it and attracting new clients. Could you share any advice or tips? Your guidance would be hugely appreciated.

    • @HarryRoperMckay
      @HarryRoperMckay  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey! Great question. I've got a video coming out next to cover this topic.
      I would dial down on that niche of yours "Therapists". Where do they hang out online? LinkedIn? Facebook groups?
      Then you need to focus on their problems. Therapists probably want to book more clients.
      So you could just start posting about how therapists can get more clients using a website and marketing. Dont make it too technical. Just make it detailed enough that they either follow you, reach out or keep you top of mind when they're ready to take action.
      One example "How adding a book link to your site will increase conversions".
      Remember marketing isnt a one message sprayed to thousands anymore. Its about turning up everyday, spreading your message, helping and always being top of mind for people.
      We consume so much content these days its hard to remember that one post we made about tips!
      Much easier to remember me as the guy to go to for websites instead.

      Stripe with a subscription / payment link setup. Handles a lot of things like follow ups etc.
      Also their card details are saved on file so you can easily upsell and charge extra services in the future.

      @@A8277. Depends on your setup but I use Coda which needs a paid plan to function fully with automations.
      Its $12/m which isn't too big of a cost considering all of the cool things you can do with it!
      In regards to your other question. I'm going to be niching down into landing pages as that seems to be my strong point.
      I would suggest trying to keep things simple and get really good and know for just one service to start with. You can slowly branch out as you get better !
