I've been hand drawing my illustrations and manual pattern cutting for the past 18 years. We studied Adobe at Uni, but I never realised how much I needed it until now. It's going to open up a lot more work opportunities for me. Better late than never. Thank you for your tutorials.
@@PatternLabLondon Hello, I had a question regarding this video. How can I choose the croquis when I want to choose the model it just puts all the background and models and I can not choose them like you in this video or select them iteselfe.
Thank you so much for sharing these tutorials. I've graduated with my bachelor in fashion management but we never got super into detail on how to use Illustrator, so I'm getting my knowledge up by using your videos!
Hi there! Thanks so much for your comment and we hope you're keeping safe and busy. We were wondering if you might be happy to provide a testimonial for us we could use on our platforms. If so, we'd love to hear from you at francesca@patternlab.london. Thanks again.
Whaaaat? Is that an early Christmas present ? I mean you are like a magic from heaven just slowly floating like a feathers. Sorry, back to the ground. That is amazing.
Hi there , So grateful for these tutorials as I'm new to illustrator and to drawing on this programme. I am having problem when it comes to the step when you hold shift key, object , clipping mask , my templates both disappear! Can you help? Many thanks, Amber
Hi Amber, This is possibly because you have multiple items grouped together? It's tricky to give you an answer as this could be due to a few problems. I would recommend rewatching the tutorial and following the steps as carefully as possible.
These templates are both group and bound by a clipping mask. The best solution is to select everything, right click and ungroup, then select just the outer boundary and right click release clipping mask. Or, very carefully, use the direct selection tool to select the model. It's tricky but means you don't need to mess around with releasing the clipping masks etc. I hope that helps!
Hi Emmanuel. We used Pret-a-template for this tutorial. They stock free to download model templates that you can use as much as you like. Check them out: pretatemplate.com/download-fashion-figure-templates/
Yes absolutely! Check out our other series of digital fashion illustration tutorials. You can find the playlist here: th-cam.com/play/PLgOpHffgkLSdq5Ao3f5u6iew3fMSxO0V3.html
Hi Bee, Once you have downloaded the Model template PDF from Pret-a-template, simply open the file in Adobe Illustrator. This will allow you to edit the model template and use it to start creating your illustrations.
@@PatternLabLondon I was looking to get a MacBook air do you feel that Apple computers are best for artist? Or do you have any other suggestions on computers
Serwandy Bonsu -Good question. Pret-a-template fashion templates are fully editable PDF’s that open with Adobe illustrator. Simply download their template, open it in Adobe Illustrator and follow the tutorial.
