There are a lot of ships in SC that are in desperate need of an upgrade. The Reliant series, Caterpillar, and Starfarier just to name a few. Not to mention the Carrack need functioning cargo hold. Thats not even including the engineering gameplay. Those need a basic upgrade for the current functions that should have been done years ago.
As you say, a lot of ships desperately need fixing up! But Chris Robberts needs more money than you need better ships! But not to worry, Duke Nuk'em is on the way to England in a C1 Spirit.
CIG needs a mic drop moment this CitCon. Something like 4.0 at the close of day 2 would be the kind of thing the community would be ding backflips over
I'm ok with new ships coming out, but CIG needs to work down the backlog of ships they already took money for years ago. Really CIG should release 2 backlogged ships for each new straight to flyable or new concept ship sales. Its bad optics to ignore ships they took money for 10 years ago but yet release a new ship for new money right away.
If you have a ship that you paid for 10 years ago and still dont have that ship - i wont ask the question of why you bought a concept ship because its too late to change that decision .. but Why have you not meleted the ship?.. The amount of store credit you will have available in your account wont be the 10 years ago - price..it will be the Current price, so you will have way more $ than you paid - Or you have the option of just selling the ship off on the gray market for real world $ and cash out, entirely - Let me guess...principal? A promise was made to you? ..,.. if you paid for a ship 10 years ago and that ship is Still not being actively worked on by the teams that get assigned to produce the ships - why do you still have it?
@@lights4bre890The account of store credit you will have will only ever equal however much money you put in. You can't melt a ship and get more store credit out of it then the new money and/or store credit you put in. Let's say you got the Cutlass Black when it was $100. Now it's $110 but if you melt it you get $100.
Tonnes of new ships, so they can nerf all the existing player base ships into irrelevance and try to force them to ‘upgrade’ or pledge even more, just so they can get a meta ship again. Sad behaviour by CIG, what the hell they think they’re doing ruining the Corsair and Redeemer like this just ahead of CitizenCon, I have no idea. The 400i is also now useless, so I’ve lost many of my favourite ships in practical terms. Makes me therefore think I shoudln’t have pledged for the Ironclad Assault, and that I certainly won’t pledge anything else.
The 4.0 code is just scaffolding and config files without all the assets for upcoming builds and to support the MFDs and client only things they are bringing in early or do live demos at CC with. A few spoilers potentially....... There are more Arena Commander files added some mentioning TheatresOfWar and all new AC general UIs and new FPS plasma ammo type. Salvage stations added crafting ship fuses and life support filter cans to the crafting menu and recipe files. Hacking UI assets and a Legionaire docking door control panel asset added but not the rest of the ship assets. The Carrack added fuse panels and fire extinguishers to its entity file inventory. Three size classes of Valakkar (the sandworms) with combat animations as well as a few boids creatures including the space whale, space cow with harvestable eggs, and a Caplan Koi fish among others added. The Kopion gets a wearable collar attachment point and trophy horn prop update so pets or NPCs using them as attack animals I would guess. A new folder tree called Base Building with files defining a small, medium, and large materials storage chest. I assume it's the equivalent to the workbench in Fallout 4's base building system where you need your building materials in a special container to build structures. There are also a couple dozen crafting recipes for parts that sound like sci-fi tech babble words mashed with reactor, fuse, capacitor, modulator, exchanger, cell, coil, panel etc.. My favorite part... The Build files added a SQ42 folder tree with files for a UEE mobi glass UI with mission manager app and mission progress log app with 1 mission definition file manifest without assets called CH01_LetterHome. The Odin star system file tree was added with 2 planet config files without the assets. There are also new melee combat animations and weapon animations defined for a lance that stabs and shoots for an NPC class noted as a temp name "V" which I assume is the Vanduul. There is an event script to force kill/reset the player if they fail a particular tutorial task in chapter 1 per its comment field. It seems maybe a SQ42 vertical slice demo playable at CC or the calling home drama scene/mission we saw last CC will be plugged into the game but use our character in the scene. Based on the vertical slice play though, teasers/leaks we saw so far, and CRs writing style here is how it goes I assume which could be the play demo the monthly reports mentioned a year ago. You make your character, into movie rolls with your write home scene and talk with the captain. She gets called to the bridge to hear the Admirals speech we saw on comms as the fleet takes up defense around Vega. The aliens show up and decimate the place and your ship gets boarded. You help protect the Captain while she sets the auto pilot on a collision course with the alien flagship to save the Admirals carrier then everyone escape pods to Vega's wrecked surface. The aliens freak out over the suicide attack nuking their flagship and retreat with Andy Serkis becoming the new leader bent on revenge and wiping the humans out. You get sent to flight school/tutorial as Bishop gives his senate speech and gets the support to rebuild the fleet and counterattack the aliens. Time jump to you flying to meet your new ship in the Odin system and arrive as pirates are attacking Archon station. You help repel them and land on your ship that is captained by Liam Cunningham (epic captain). You do your ship crew character intros and get sent to find the missing Starfarer lost in the attack and rescue that fiery red head Agent Trejo along the way like in the vertical slice. You go back to your ship and write a letter home reflecting on your new post pondering the future....end of intro chapter and demo,
As far as ships coming out into the game, I’m only interested in backlog ships. Backers have waited for years for their pledge ships. It’s far past time for CIG to deliver.
With the Zeus mk2s coming in 3.24.2 and all the growing rumours, the Crusader Intrepid, the MISC Fortune, the MISC Starlancer, the Mirai Guardian, the Greycat CTV, the Argo CAV. I'm really trying to avoid expanding the _quantity_ of my fleet. I've already got my Rambler to Zeus mk2 MR CCU chain, but that's it. So... as primarily an Origin and Crusader lover... the Crusader Intrepid will have to replace... something. The MISC Fortune means my Vulture is in danger. The Starlancer? Not sure. The Guardian will probably replace my Heartseeker, I don't need two Hornets and I just love the lines of the mk2. Between now and Luminalia, it's looking like my fleet could change radically.
Sadly I have never been less interrested in new ships than now. The past couple of citizencons I spent more money than was reasonable, but I loved the game back then... now... they have done one moronic change after another and right now I don't feel like I will ever buy another ship, regardless of what they are.... whatever I buy today will be nerfed through the floor at a later date to promote some other new ship anyway.
I'm sick and tired of new ships. What good are they when the game is borderline unplayable? For two weeks I'v had no inventory, making it impossible to do anything. No armor, no weapons and no way to equip them. I don't want new ships. I want a working game. I think I'm done with SC. We've been scammed.
My wallet is and will remain closed until such time that they completely remove that nasty green skybox and fix master mode. If I wanted no man's sky I would have purchased No Man's sky.
So, they're ignoring the old ships that people have pledged for that are still not in the game, and are releasing new ships that will probably be awesome at release (gotta make sure people want to buy them), which then get nerfed "with their intended specs" a certain number of months later. Got it. 🥱

*cough*MerchantMan*cough*
They already have people's money from those, so they're on the back burner while they sell us new stuff. Unfortunately....
As you say, a lot of ships desperately need fixing up!

People will be excited like last year. They will think again and again that the stuff shown will be in the game and in the game soon on top of that.
It's shaping-up that this year the focus will be SQ42 and that it will steal the show.
4.0 is not happening at the end of day 2. I wish it was, but it's not.

The backlog is unsustainable.
CIG needs to smarten up and follow that earlier advice of releasing 2 old ships for every new ship to clear up the backlog.

Yes i still have a bmm from 2014…..an actual decade ago
I'm so sorry for your loss, Erad. My heart goes out to you and your family.

Squadron 42, major bugs or not on release, place your bets
"Misc-Fortune"???! Ok, that is the kind of sound mistake only made by non-native English speakers.
we dont need tons of new ships! We need fixed and reworked ships :D
CIG needs money, ship production increased.
To misquote: You will hear of ships and rumours of ships, but do not be troubled...

Banu Merchant man 😂
CIG CREATED SC AND TURNED SC INTO A COMPLETE HUMOUR LESS JOKE
Star Citizen is becoming Star Desperate. New ship can come out in future expansions.
My wallet is and will remain closed until such time that they completely remove that nasty green skybox and fix master mode. If I wanted no man's sky I would have purchased No Man's sky.
Idris When!
Your music on your videos is the last thing I wanted to hear at 3:30am when I am putting my contacts in and cant hit pause. I disdain anything metal
He squeaked in a high pitch voice.

Nobody cares. 😆
