1:14 I would personally switch one of the 4 HMG modules for some cannons, and with the saved weight, add drop tanks for more range. 552km is really limiting, especially on the eastern front
@ESG1 Been doing good. On the IRL grind, but I’ve noticed the new DLC like a few days ago and it seemed interesting, so I got it and been playing around with that for the past few days
Hey there 1:39 Self-sealing fuel tanks don’t impact range. PS: Range affects mission efficiency-have you seen better results with a shorter-legged but beefier fighter? In tank design, what’s your take on howitzers vs. cannons? Also, why avoid flame tanks? Lastly, I’ve heard 30-width has an edge over 35-width in forests due to lower penalties. Thanks for the insights, and I’m glad I joined this channel!
Thanks for the help. With AI games range doesn't matter for Germany. The enemy flys over you and you just shoot them down 10 to 1. Howitzer would be better and there is a glitch where you get the tank howitzer from, I think, the super heavy howitzer research. I don't do the tank howitzer because the MP community gets upset. I don't reaserch flame tanks to save on research and the armored signal company is way easier to get to. The 30 widths in forest tiles do not perform well. I would say yes, go for the 35 width. Thank you for your membership!
@@ESG1 I don't know what you are talking about with 30 widths in forest, 30 widths are literally designed for them! 30 width is PERFECT for forests! Don't make worse tanks in singleplayer just to please MP players, this is a single player guide. If you were playing MP, you would have tank destroyers, so don't even bother trying to "please" them when that's not what this guide is for. You have plenty of research as Germany for flame tanks, especially because you start with one breakthrough, and signal companies are really shit, even the armored one, they just give you initiative which is a hidden stat that doesn't really do much for you. Also, flame tanks make attacking in forests a lot easier, so maybe that's why you're 30 widths tanks are struggling there...Also light armored recon is trash, use logistics instead. Less supply and fuel use is huge! The helicopter transports are even better.
Ok, I'll check them out. Without flame tanks, armored signal companies are better than logi. Logi with helicopters may be better but you will suffer with research in other areas. The main problem is I need to commit to using Hess instead of Borman. I hate making 35 widths and get stuck using them situationaly so your idea may be better. 35 widths on plains with signal companies are on rails flying around the map like Mary Poppins.
yes, they are great, but Germany cant afford the rubber unless they take out the allies and steal their colonies, unless you want to waste 40% of your industry building synthetics.
@@pillbox2079 yeah but only in rubber.. he probably has loads, if he didn't, putting a small turret would hav eimproved his plane as well... even though , based on reality, it shouldn't.
The rubber isn't a big problem. Just make two models, one without the self-sealing fuel tanks and one with them. Produce the one without the ssft and upgrade them with ssft afterwards. The line which does the upgrade will put out so much more planes that you can safe most of the rubber by doing that.
Air and tank Designer makes the Game sooo much easier... The start of the Game the AI was Harder to Beat. Operation Barbarossa without inteligence and Designer was so much harder
Dude, I feel this before I start any single player game in HOI4. I'm always like, "yea, I want to play that country but I need to study youtube videos for a good hour before I start."
"German theater 1qq" I f*cking knew I wasn't the only one that pressed TAB when I meant to open the politcal menu. Goddamn they should have a way to disable that input in the game so that it doesn't default to renaming the theater.
I put three mils on CAS before war and click the auto-upgrade button. Then upgrade to the new model you get with advance airframe. I admit, I am not a big CAS guy but 2 or 3 wings microed over your tanks works well.
At this point I'm not using Hess so I don't get as much MIO bonus. I'm working on a new Germany guide where I will use Hess and cheese the game. Production to me doesn't matter as much since I don't take many tank losses.
hard attack is basically useless against the AI cause they still don't know how to make good tank divisions, medium howitzer is way better than the cannon. The speed and breakthrough on your tanks leaves much to be desired as well.
You don't need medium tanks VS Ai, you can just crank +10 armor on light tanks up to 50+ armor and that is enough to obliterate the AI AI doesn't build tanks at all, I switched to see what templates USSR does and by 1942 it had only 4(!!!) tank divisions with 1936 light tanks lol.
If you are going to micro tanks as Germany, I use the 18 width that Germany starts with at the beginning of the game and add a support AA. For tank micro infantry is a blocking force.

Yeah, the build is for AI games. The USSR air is destroyed in the first few months with this fighter. How have you been?
@ESG1 Been doing good. On the IRL grind, but I’ve noticed the new DLC like a few days ago and it seemed interesting, so I got it and been playing around with that for the past few days
I think it’s fun, hope u like it too.
Thank God for someone actually taking their time to explain thei tank/fighters builds.

You can add self sealing fuel tanks to that fighter to give it even more air defence and still have enough thrust.

Expensive. He probably didn't put it cause it would slow his production/construction down.

I bought this game to have fun and play it. It turns out i need a Masters Degree for it.
Welcome to HOi4

3 armor plate with FW designer is new meta
Extra Fuel Tanks are still essential for Barbarossa due to the massive size of the airzones
Drop tanks needs to replace one of those armor slots, and then yes
Good intro, ESG. Simple and fast. I like it.
Sounds good.

7:03 why in the world would you not take the production stuff first? Hard attack and piercing literally doesn’t matter

You will get no argument from me. The tank gun shown in the guide is so the MP players don’t get upset.
The worst thing is armor which is really low
@@ESG1why, this isn’t a MP guide. Nothing else here makes sense for MP so why just half ass it?
The medium cannon works well for AI games. For every comment I get like yours I will get 10 stating the opposite. Can't please everyone.

True
Template for infantry?

oh great just another video of "i beat russia" without showing how you beat russia
There is not much to show since vanilla AI is a joke.
Literally everything works in SP.
@@pillbox2079 It takes most players hundreds of hours before they can beat Russia as Germany. The learning curve in the game is no joke.
You want a Barbarossa guide? If so just the micro or the whole pre-war phase?
@@ESG1
Haven't you shown that already tens of times or more at this point?
Just post links to your videos.
He probably wants a specific guide
