- Welcome to Toy Polloi Two. The Transformers Generation one TV theme has always sounded wrong. There is one part where the music just jumps and it has never felt right to my ear. So I thought I would see if it could be fixed.

There's something about the jank in the first one that I love, but that's purely nostalgia. Your one-note fix definitely helps!
As a lifelong fan who regularly watches G1 , I've never noticed anything🤷♂️.
I suspect that a rather brutal tape edit was an at the time "that'll do" fix to get the title sequence music to the right timing length for the animation without truncating the final fanfare, which would have been even more noticeable, literally ending on a Bum note.
This is right up my street. I love that you took a bit of 80s audio and treated it in much the same way you fix the vintage toys.

I grew up watching and loving the original Transformers cartoon and love the original theme tune I don’t feel this is an issue need fixing!!!
The first one doesn't sound wrong to me, it's just a rhythmic decision by the original creator. Having said that, your version is easier to listen to. But I don't mind the OG one at all.
Didn't need no fixin. I like it best the original way.

Never realized there was an issue with the intro before 😂
I always expected they removed a larger piece of music. If I had to guess, its because the theme was originally intended to be longer, and at a later point in production they decided it was too long and wanted a shorter title sequence. Then either they did not want to spend the budget to let it be remade, or they just didn't have the time. But your version does sound a lot nicer, maybe that was enough to put it back to its original form. It would be nice if someone could eventually clarify what actually happened.
And for anyone who needs a demonstration of my other comment, when listening to the original version, simply tap your foot twice as fast as you normally would, and you should see everything fits fine and was in time all along.
I so far have only read the title and all I can say is: The intro is perfect so don't you dare mess with it!

Definitely getting the impression the theme was crudely edited shorter to fit the TV runtime at the time. Although not gonna lie, it was a bit tricky for my amateur ears to notice the difference at first. Probably because I’m no music expert.
Right, I applaud this attempt to do something cool, and different, but speaking as a musician, multi-instrumentalist, and a fan of the cartoon, and having spent years studying polyrhythms, I can tell ye that there was nothing wrong with it at all, was just a bar of 3 instead of 4, in perfect time. Having said that though, I do recall something being wrong with it for years, was the ending credits music a different edit? Was that maybe where the timing could have been off and is that possibly where you might be getting mixed up? I haven’t been and checked, but I do vaguely remember there being a rough edit like you mention someplace in the opening or ending, but that bit there wasn’t it, but still a fun and interesting video!
I've always prefered the second and third season themes over the first season.

I'm gonna have to listen to this a few times. There does seem to be something about the edited version that's more pleasing to the ear. I just can't put my finger on it. The horns seem to sound better. Not sure if that's the part you edited or not.
Either way I like it. Definitely one of my favorite theme songs from my childhood.
