Thank you for making this awesome video of my grandfather! He's a fantastic person and truly talented. I hope to be as blessed as him in his love of life and his love of music.
At 0:48 i spy with my little eye a pioneer sx-424 mini stereo reciever on the top shelf to the right, ahh yes, back when things were made to last. Not only was he a great musician, but knew good hifi gear as well.
He turned 100 this year April 2, 2020.

sidereus7 He's your grandfather? You can really be proud of him. I hope I'll learn how to play a banjo like him one day too.
What is the MSU connection? I live near East Lansing and teach there. Thanks you for the video.

Loved this! - Thank you. Very inspiring to this aging musician and artist. I might have to find some banjo
resonators to paint up!

Really enjoyed hearing you play. Fantastic. Do you play much five string banjo? I see a Vega Whyte Laydie five string leaning against the wall.
Kind of like Jed Clampett groving to Django!
I'm sad to state that he passed in February of 2021. You can find his obituary on Google.
Albama jubilee?
This guy is now 100. I think?
Django on the banjo
Django Reinhardt was his favorite!! He would've been very flattered to hear that comparison.
Weird that he marked his 9th. Wonder if he marks his 10th on guitar to keep them consistent.
They don’t make things like that for the common man in America anymore
Bass player looks like Bernie Sanders.
