    • @TimTheMusicMan
      @TimTheMusicMan ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigrobsydney my stand is the players are playing at that level because of the technology , maybe 75% of them are there because if the technology. 100% are benefiting from it. But I’m sports it has to come from within. You cannot have assistance. It’s a handicap. The racket manufacturers and strings makers along with the tennis federation ruined real tennis. The romance and charisma has left tennis. It’s now a power behind the baseline game using two handed backhands. 90% of the shot making is gone.

    • @bigrobsydney
      @bigrobsydney ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TimTheMusicMan If you're so against it, then sod off and watch some other sport that uses zero equipment, but presumably you'll complain about that one as well due to drugs use.
      If you cant or wont appreciate what people are doing, then you're just a sad sack. No one will miss your miserable attitude.

    • @markoshun
      @markoshun ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TimTheMusicManAs the technology advances so do ‘all’ the players, so it evens out. You seem to agree, “100% are benefitting”. A normal player still doesn’t stand a chance against an exceptional player, just like before technology advances.
      I get you don’t like the modern game, but that’s a different question. My favorite match-ups were the Sampras, Henman, Rafter serve volleyers against the passing shot base-liners. That’s pretty much phased out now.
      Even at Wimbledon they slowed down the grass which took away the serve/volleyers advantage. People complained the points were too short and boring. 🤷‍♂️ So, instead of the difference to the style that would win there compared to the French, it was evened out. Watch Fed for example, his 1st Wimbledon win he was at the net 10x more than his last win there.

      gender neutral

    • @jz6008
      @jz6008 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I dont get how it can be gender neutral when they never play each other. For example, i’m sure gugu’s 12 utr is calculated only from playing mostly females right?

    • @seanliu4537
      @seanliu4537 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jz6008yeah but the UTR also has the dynamic rating system, which means if one of female players Gugu plays with plays another guy, their rating and result will impact Gugu’s rating

    • @Monsterenergy791
      @Monsterenergy791 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jz6008 You can look at her matches on UTR, she's about a 10.4 in singles and 12 in dubs. She's like a 5.5 men's singles level (she's obviously better at dubs), but shows you just how good the mens/ATP pros are. A low pro is 14, while top 100 guys are 15 UTRs - 16

    • @davidedwards4720
      @davidedwards4720 ปีที่แล้ว

      Women’s UTR’s tend to be inflated, at the above 10 level especially. They simply lack the speed, strength, and reach to compete with men of similar UTR. At lower numbers they’re roughly comparable.

  • @ashutoshsharma4954
    @ashutoshsharma4954 ปีที่แล้ว

    I don't know why but I always obeerve that females always prefer to play aggressive flat groundstrokes tennis. I have also observed that wta tennis players play much braver and courageous than their atp counterparts. Males always prefer to hit heavy topspin but females always prefer to hit heavy flat groundstrokes. Wta players play much riskier and lower percentage tennis than atp players who heavily rely on defence and heavy topspin.

    • @cotacachi12
      @cotacachi12 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      It's because women cannot generate very powerful topspin shots like men can. So to hit winners and play strong they hit flat. Men however have a big edge because men can hit powerful topspin and that's the best way to play. That's why we don't compete against each other. The physical differences

    • @ashutoshsharma4954
      @ashutoshsharma4954 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@cotacachi12don't you think hitting flat shots is way riskier and low percentage than hitting topspin? I think we should give credit to wta players for playing a more ballsy and braver game than atp players.

    • @cotacachi12
      @cotacachi12 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @ashutoshsharma4954 flat shots are only way riskier at a certain power. For woman hitting with topspin would only set their opponent up for hitting flat winners against them so hitting with topsin would be worse. For men it's way riskier because at the speed they want to hit it, it might not fall in. So men do very powerful and deep topspin shots. A shot that is not really accessible to women.
      It's a different meta because of that. So for women a powerful flat shot is less risky than a weaker topspin shot than it is for men. Like sure it'll land in more but the opponent will punish you severely

    • @ifeanyiikpegbu6465
      @ifeanyiikpegbu6465 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      If you play tennis you realize that a heavy topspin landing near the baseline is the most devastating shot to handle.
      It also has a safe margin over the net and the topspin brings it into the court. If it lands deep, its the most devastating to the opposition.
      The men can flatten shots, but only when the ball is short and high over the net.
      So the women essentially don't have this armamentorium in their shots, so they play low percentage flat shots resulting in more errors. They don't have the strength to hit heavy topspin which has well enough pace, so they take the shortcut of hitting flat shots most of the time

    • @ifeanyiikpegbu6465
      @ifeanyiikpegbu6465 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ashutoshsharma4954 They aren't more ballsy, not even close. The flat shots is a result of their lack of power to generate heavy topspin with enough pace
