It's easy to figure out how to use the test strips BUT which chemicals do you add to increase/decrease levels?

Your water is perfectly balanced. What if it is off and isn't where it should be on the test strip? Will one chemical affect the other? What order to bring things to balance? Etc?

That's a great question, balancing water chemistry can be very difficult especially if multiple things are out of balance at the same time, In general it's recommended to balance alkalinity prior to balancing pH other than that I would simply wait at least 30 minutes before retesting and balancing other chemicals.
You are also correct at pointing out that some chemicals will affect others, the most important to note is many dry chlorine (dichlor) products will lower pH, and liquid chlorine will raise pH.

If below 1500 on the Salt Test Strip I add salt? Or do I drain the spa to remove the extra salt?

Hi Andrew, if you are using the Freshwater salt system or the Ace salt system then salt levels should be between 1500 - 2000ppm, with 1750ppm being ideal.
If you are getting a result of 1500ppm from your test strip then I would recommend adding a cup of salt and then retesting with a test strip to confirm you are closer to 1750ppm .
