I wonder how it is possible, after such an intense and powerful scene, to invest in a fourth season written in such a dull and insignificant way. It’s a mistery.
It’s so excruciating to end a show that has been perfectly crafted with so much care and insight into every little scene but instead get a slap in the face for a final season. Honestly someone should arrest laura neal
This is gut-wrenching. "I didn't mind that you took me there" "I did cry" God damn Villanelle has such a deep past and she's such a layered character. My favourite character in any media, any television or any film. Jodie Comer portrayed the emotional torment in this scene perfectly.
Oh what a scene!!! Jodie is great as always, but the actress who plays her mother deserves congrats also! Maybe the best thing in the scene is their chemistry... 👏
“You were bad from the beginning” my mother said the same thing to me at age 8 or 9 or maybe younger. She’s so my own mother, my mom used to threaten to take me to an orphanage too when I was a little kid, she just never dropped me off permanently. Jesus. I’m glad I am not a Villianelle type but I have a lot of empathy for her in this scene
Exactly. I wont be a mother too. Because I am pretty sure I will lend this generational trauma. I am done with her but I still have to be with her because I cant live on my own now. She is just 2 personality nerve sick person uses being a mom for excuse for bad things she do.
@@penelopetheraw Get out as soon as you are able to support yourself. I wish smw would have told me that earlier. That my mother is a toxic monster that thrives on the misery of her children . It would have saved years of heartache and pain she caused .
This was one of the best episodes of the series. Huge pivot in Villanelles character development. She’s clearly not a psychopath, imo anyway. Just a lot of emotional childhood trauma and lack of healthy coping mechanisms, even if they are on the extreme side.
Yes and it was built up to brilliantly. There are a lot of scenes in the episodes leading up to this where she's asking people things like "do you think i'm inherently like this?" "do you think I can change?" etc. Then this scene was like her going back to point where she thought she lost her humanity and she's trying to reconnect even though she clearly isn't pleased with everything. Psychologically her asking her mom to treat her like a child and clean her face, right after her mom insults her makes so much sense. And then here it's like she's asking the person who knew her before she was an assassin to validate her as human but she basically just says "No, you're inherently evil, you can't get better." Soooo fucked up. Makes me well up every time. And then showing her clearly upset on the train shows she has an emotional response to it. And sparing the two family members who were kind to her or she felt were treated like black sheep like her shows she has empathy. It's just a fraction of a season that manages to show that the murderer is being psychologically abused and was even as a child, and while it might be hard for them to change they are capable of it, and want to. Really well done.
@@myvictory8294her mum gave her away because she was jealous that she attracted attention from her husband (the father). A lot of mothers are usually jealous of their daughters. Yes Villianelle might have been an evil child, but during these scenes it was never told whether the mother tried to help her at all. It just seemed like she gave her up. Also, during this episode we can see how bad of a mother she is to the other kids. So it’s not all in Villianelle’s delusion. She is a horrible person too.
This is part of why V is so closed-off from empathy. The moment she truly examined the feelings of another - she would begin considering her own. And THAT would be devastating. So she must avoid empathy, altogether. Without it, she can keep those memories away, by never allowing them to associate with any feelings of internal sorrow over her heartbreaking relationship with her mother. Tears and sorrow displayed publicly are silly to V because they make no difference to the outcome of events. She chooses this rationale over one that examines the relationship between her actions and the emotional effect it takes on those involved, which may result in altering her means of disposal in a way that minimizes emotional damage. This would, no doubt, make anyone a more civilized assassin- except V. If she could suddenly emphasize with others, she would also suddenly have to deal with the fact that her own mother did not love her enough to be together. This, alone, has the power to crush the strongest heart. The rage would be too much and likely overwhelm her into another complete rejection of feelings. The rejection of a child by their own mother is a scar on the heart that spreads when left unattended. V simply could not afford to feel. Her survival depended on that.
The character of Villanelle and the interpretation and acting of Jody Comer are the heart and backbone of the series Killing Eve, so bad that whoever wrote the 4 series didn't understand the importance of the Villanelle character and almost relegated her to a secondary character🤦, It's really a shame when you have gold and diamonds in your hands and you don't know how to do with it.
Killing Eve was so good at the beginning. I still love it but the way it ended was just a piss take. It kept on going down hill from the second season. All that electrifying scenes for what ?? Just for villanelle to die in the end ????
I know that feeling one person love me was my father and mother my stepfather judge me all this years the tribe let us be torturing all children of children been tribe I know the truth I blame my people let us to die they should protect us they didn’t it
I don’t want to be mean at all, but I feel like that’s not what makes people gay😅😅. Her mom was terrible, though, and Villanelle definitely suffered and went through so much because of it.
Coming from Villanelle who once claimed that she didn’t feel anything, the pain she expresses in this intense! What did you think of this scene?
very emotional
Love ❤make people sensitive
...I almost died 😵💫🪐❤️

Breaks my heart how it ended. I hope one day they’ll come back to these characters and give them and us what we deserve!

Exactly!!she's my favorite too i wish they have a spin off of her past especially her dad since she loved him
@@niraxlevi9930I would love a spinoff of her glory days as an assassin, pre-Eve. Could be a fabulous black comedy / action series if done right.
Nature versus nurture, what sets off the the psychosis! Trump's parents neglected him, housekeepers, took care of the Trump kid's!
It's the way her mother looks at her at the very end as if that's how she always thought this is how she would go.
She knew her child the best. She sent her away because she always knew Villanelle was capable of that.
I didn't mind that you took me there. I didn't mind that you never came back for me... some of her finest acting.
100% The layers of complexity JC adds to villanelles character goes way beyond the scope of the series, imho. Jodie comer is insanely talented

I'm so sorry.
Similar stuff was said to me as a child. It's required a lot of therapy ...
Their acting is so good. The chemistry is on top
I think this was the most substanial scene of the entire series. It boggles my mind the episode or Jodie wasn't recognized by the Emmy's for it.
My mother says all those things to me and worse, she is the reason why i never became a mother . Because i didn't know how to be a good mother

Even if she isn't psychopath, her childhood experiences made her into a sociopath. Psychopaths are born, sociopaths are made
She obviously WAS psycho, that's why her mom gave her away.
