I wanted to make this for a couple of weeks, we got it done ahead of another video so I'm dropping that video next. The title needs more love, it's one of the best designs, It was under alot of icons and it's unfortunate that the title lost it's value as time went on. What did you think of the Big Gold Belt?
I still think it's the best design for a belt
Well one thing is that it is my favorite design for a world championship belt. Certainly one outside of the WWF/WWE. There is the winged eagle belt so competition there.

There's no downfall. It's about making money. New belts make money. Besides that, it did very well. Everyone cherishes that belt more than any other belt
World Heavyweight Championship looked so nice on HHH, Batista, Randy Orton, CM Punk, Undertaker, Edge etc. Take me back to those days 💯

The Triple H vs Batista trilogy was the peak of the big gold's prestige IMO.
It made batista into a main event franchise player and also had the most compeling storyline at that time
Only cause you probably didn't grow up watching Ric Flair and Dusty Rhodes in the 80s.
Idk that edge vs taker feud in 08 was amazing

HHH held the World Title like he was Ric Flair and it worked. Batista proved that he was a main event talent when he held it. Edge almost became synonymous with it but nobody wore it better than Undertaker.
Undertaker never had a memorable world title run let alone a world heavyweight championship run

I disagree, Batista is whose synonymous with that belt and who it looked best on. He was also always champion or facing the champ so always around the title.
I miss that original design. The new version just looks like it came from the black market. Also i noticed the belt looked smaller and the strap looked red in the back around 2011. Batista Triple H Edge Undertaker and Kurt Angle were some who looked better with this belt than the WWE title

The World Heavyweight Championship to this day still remains as my all time favorite championship in ALL of wrestling. All the classics we got for this belt, all the wonderful and legendary champions who held it, such as Edge, Undertaker, Batista, HHH, Jeff Hardy, Chris Jericho, and many others, and just overall, it is the pure definition of a championship. I’m glad it’s back, and here’s hoping it is given justice, with Seth, AJ, and many potential new champs.🤞🙏

I mean to be fair the WWE title also has been disrespected a couple of times. Especially when it came to the Universal Title.
Yeah the wwe title was clearly the B title from at least 2017-22 as the universal title was held by brock and roman for a majority of the run and it rarely main evented any ppv let alone wrestlemania in that span.

I remember that day I saw Jack Swagger holding the title, I was so pissed off. That moment the title felt like the upper mid card championship
I’ve thought about this over the past year or so and I feel like without a doubt, what sent the big gold belt down was when Swagger won it bc the year before that punk and Hardy main evented summerslam with that belt but once Swagger won it, everything and everyone that followed was underwhelming or looked at as a B champion or as a “thank you” run for guys like Kane Big Show & Mark Henry, 2010 is when it lost its luster for good
Vince never respect it because it wasn't his creation.
Atleast it headlined many ppvs including wrestlemanias and SummerSlams..but it was never gonna matter more than wwe title to Vince
Ok so i agree to an extent. When the WHC was on raw with guys like hhh, Benoit, hbk, Batista etc it was looked at as THE title. Cus at that same time the WWE title was on smack down with cena and JBL and Eddie. It wasn’t looked at as THE title. It all depends on who’s holding it. It wasn’t ALWAYS looked at as the secondary title. Depends on what show it falls on and who’s booked to hold it.
Wonder why nobody ever mentions how the belt literally got smaller as time went on. By the time Cena had it in 2013, it wasn’t even “big” anymore. The plates were as small as any other belt 10:42

I loved the old big gold belt. The new one looks really nice, but the old one is better. It fits perfectly with Batista.

The World Championship was absolutely special, problem came after Wrestlemania 27 (where it was in the FIRST match) when the Brand Extension was effectively over and it became a less-prioritized Championship than the WWE title barely more relevant than the Intercontinental and US titles. A few did their best throughout 2011 to keep it feeling special like Christian, Randy Orton, and Mark Henry... but sadly by the holidays it got to a lackluster point it would take a couple years to recover from (basically Cena winning it helped but was too little too late)
Putting the WCW title on David Arquette definitely was the worst decision in WCW, even Arquette thought it was a bad idea.
I'll be honest putting the TV title on him would've been the better option

Edge really made the title what it is imo
The Big Gold is the most iconic title in wrestling. The prestige it brought between 2002 and 2012 from Triple H to Chris Benoit to Edge to Batista to Undertaker to Jericho to Michaels. 2013 onwards it was the demise of the Big Gold and the title completely disappeared after Brock Lesnar destroyed John Cena in SummerSlam 2014. How will WWE book the Big Gold this time? We'll just have to wait when Night of Champions happens.
Randy Savage won the WCW World title 4 times. Which sounds impressive. Except all of his reigns didn't surpass a month. One lasted for only 24 hours because he got injured the night he won it.

I feel like Swagger's reign was the downturn for the big gold belt I never bought him being a main eventer at that time and taking away what made him special and making him a serious diet Kurt Angle did not work out. And as well making the big gold open most of the ppvs and Manias was not a good idea too

No way that new belt will follow the same lineage as the original Big Gold Belt. The fans won't allow it. The only reason why they created the belt in the first place was for damage control- as they have Roman holding the real belt hostage. Once Roman relinquishes the real belt, the new one will get treated like the 24/7 title over time, or get merged again.

Late 2008-Early 2010 was the best time for the World Heavyweight Championship, given that it was the title defended in most main events of PPVs. I always think of Jeff Hardy vs. CM Punk and Chris Jericho vs. Shawn Michaels when those years in WWE come into mind.
Most RR winners chose the world title to go after. I think all besides Cena in 08 and Orton in 09 (he was about to go for the WHC in storyline though).

Jeff Hardy vs John Morrison was one of my favorite WHC matches
Orton and Edge deserve alot of credit for carrying the shows they were on.
Of course Raw had Cena but I remember Orton being the best part and alot of fans starting to change their opinion on him (IWC hated Orton in 2005/2006)

Edge, Batista, Undertaker, Chris Jericho, King Booker, Sheamus were all great champions. The title had great title win moments which the best WHC win in my opinion was Rey Mysterio at WM22. Now that the Big Gold is back, it's time to bring the honor back to World Title feuds.

The WHC was more of a continuation of the wcw and NWA titles that also used the big gold in its lineage. Kind of like a son when it's dad was WCW title and grandpa was the NWA title. Wwe recognizes it's lineage from the nwa title up until it became the wcw title then the wcw title then the WHC is it's own belt but shares their history.
except for the belt that was brought in during the wcw/ecw invasion isnt even the og belt it was one of the cast belts as scott steiner swapped it out and now sits in flairs son-in-laws house

The Downfall. is when WWE was making it a secondary championship back in 2010 onwards. from 2004 to 2007 that belt was the top of the mountain.

Undertaker as World Champion actually got to look stronger than WWE champ John Cena after a tag match
Undertaker vs Kane feud featured the final time the World Title would main event a PPV... no I don't count the title unification with the WWE championship
Daniel Bryan's reign as World Champion actually featured the final time the World Title would go above the WWE Title in a pay per view in the Elimination Chamber where the World Chamber went after the WWE Chamber but it still didn't main event as that went to Cena.
Some subjective stuff: I can remember during the triple threat package of John Show and Edge John saying "I am on the outside looking in on the once prestigious World Heavyweight Championship". I think there were pockets of times where the World Champion was better than the WWE Champion but the WWE Champ had better competition thus the higher spot on the card. Biggest example was when Mark Henry was World Champ and Alberto Del Rio was WWE Champ.
Also last I remember one segment where John could go after the WWE Champion which was The Rock or World Champ which I think was the recently turned face Alberto Del Rio who ended up facing Jack Swagger at Wrestlemania where John asked the crowd something along the lines if he should go after the World Championship which he "can easily win" or the WWE Championship which "He has little chance of winning".
EDIT! Also to what you said at the end. To show how secondary the new World Title is during a recent match Michael Cole refereed to it as the "biggest prize in Monday Night Raw". Not the biggest prize in WWE. Also Randy Orton chose to go after the Bloodline instead of a guaranteed World Title Match... The Bloodline means more than that title.
ANOTHER EDIT! Also One more infamous moment I wish you mentioned. When WWE Champ John Cena was in the ring and the common rabble outside the ring where John was trying to decide on a challenger (the one where Daniel Bryan was chosen) who was among the crowd of jabronis? Why on the World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio... he was only holding the "top prize" at the time...

When Vince McMahon decided to have the World heavyweight championship reactivated and just handed to Triple H. Then the title was made to look like a mid card title when Hunter wasn't involved in the picture. In my opinion it was all a big F U from Vince McMahon to wcw

I also like the new gold belt. Looks way better than the generic and boring WWE-championship designs.
To give the belt prestige, let Gunther or someone on his level run with it for awhile, then the prestige builds, the only reason the WWE belt has so much honors, because theres mfs that have held it for 4 or more years, per run. I think the longest is close to a decade, if Im not mistaking, but for the new WHC belt to matter, it has to create on lane, its late to make it equal, but it strap to someone who has a rocket on their back, repeated and give the best matches consistently, I dont see why it wouldnt gain merit, tbh Seth has had it too long, surprised they didnt make Seth, Drew, LA Knight and Sami for the belt. The WHC would probably do better on Smackdown anyway, which I think they will do since Cody's a Raw guy, even it would be nice to see him fight other ppl, still thinking he wins at WM just for Priest to strike and get his first. Surprised the tag teams arent up for a match WM? Judgment Day has had them for awhile now. Honestly they should split the belts up and give them a new design and add some prestige back to them because they pretty much been decoration, outside of a few instances.

I mean there was some great moments and wrestlers who in WWF/E who held this belt but I felt it kinda died when David Arquette won it.
If the belt was so " special" then the company using it was just as "special" and the company would have won the Monday night wars. But wcw lost because the title meant nothing to the people or to the world. Other wise they would have tuned in and paid up for the ppv's

That belt meant nothing when it came back in 2002 and handed to triple h. The undisputed championship just came out and it was supposed to be the main belt until the world heavyweight title surpassed it and they made the wwe title the spinner belt. I hate that big stupid belt
