I finally got around to installing my lift and Bilsteins after buying them on Black Friday 2022. Took around 5 hours and I wish I would have installed them sooner! Love your videos!
Great offerings, nicely presented. I looked for pricing on your website and came across the Springtime 'The Weekender' and 'The Hudson' - looking forward to seeing what they bring to small form van layout ideas. Especially the 136 wheelbase Promaster... The Mercedes Sprinter 170 has me worried we'll lose you to the dark side. 😛
2 pucks for the rear springs? Also, have you seen any kind of premature wear to ball joints or cv shafts up front with the lift plus sumo coil helpers?? Thanks for the longer term advice!
Hi Ben, you did the base camper build in late 2020 on my Promaster 2500 I have the 1.5 van compass lift in the front and rear ..want to add the Sumos front and rear I definitely want the yellow sumos correct?
Are you still happy with the front lift/suspension upgrade? I own a 2022 Travato and thinking about this upgrade after my warranty expires. Have you noticed a difference in gas mileage with the front of the vehicle being level with the rear? Some people prefer the front rake and claim the vehicle handles better. Thoughts???
I just upgraded to the rear SumoSprings, they didn’t come with instructions. A couple people mentioned there should be about 1/4 inch clearance so the spring isn’t continuously compressed. I’m not sure if this is best but my rig build runs heavy and I wanted to help alleviate the burden off my leaf springs, I have seen ProMaster’s with broken leaf springs.
Any concerns with the longevity of the drivetrain with the front lift? There seems to be some debate whether or not this affects the angle of the constant velocity joints, and therefore some degree of wear in the transmission. Do you have any opinions or thoughts on that?
Can you show how to lower with airbags or somthing i want to add a wheel chair ramp and van its too high i want to be able to lower and raise up for the wheelchair thanks
Nice video, I too installed the Sumo springs and put larger wheels and tires, 245/75R16 Michelins. It made a big difference on my 136 high roof 2500. Stock it would drift and feel like driving on ice on washboards. You brought up a point I’ve been debating on and that is weight distribution. The Sumos did raise the front a bit making it sit more level but front traction is not good, too light. Did the 1 and a half lift affect your front end traction that you’ve noticed? I’m going to add a big heavy bumper and winch combo to see if that helps since I drive in a lot of snow and sand. Thanks
I’ve got the 3500 ProMaster extended length and I run stock diameter tires. I also don’t like the look of the lower front end. I’d like to improve the suspension and lift the front enough for it to be somewhat level, but I think I would like to avoid any unnecessary lift. Any recommendations? I’m having a hard time finding a video that just focuses on leveling but you kind of alluded to that. Thx
I reside in the South . It gets cold and hot and humid. The sliding door cannot remain open during these seasons. Is there an option for an additional door that can be installed and used while the sliding door is open?
I really really love your Vans. They are so awesome. I would really like to see a MWB Sprinter (4x4) or an 139 Promaster with a full Shower, Fixed Bed, Kitchen and an option to sit across each other. If you can Master that, that would be so awesome :) Why? Because MWB are a lot better for parking when travelling the world especially in Europe. In MWB you can use the normal parkinh lots. When you go with 6m it is not possible anymore. And you pay less on ships. Stil love your Promaster !
@@ReadySetVan Thats very cool. I am eager to see it. I am very interested in how you will make a Shower and a Sittingarea work. Keep up your awesome work and stay healthy!
I love your wheels and tires. Can you let us all know what you are using? (sorry, I know this video is 2 years old, but I'm building my second Promaster camper conversion and this one is the REAL one, if you know what I mean. ) Cheers, Rob
Order one for the 3500 extended. It's thicker than the 3500 short, my 2500 had no sway bar. I hang a motorcycle on the back and it made a big difference
Do you have any opinion on the Off Highway Van Promaster lift kit? I believe it adds about 2.5 inches of clearance to the rear. Is that something you could install?
I have a 3" OHV lift on my Winnebago Pocket on the Promaster Chassis, also with sumo springs and all terrain tires. Now have 9" of clearance at the lowest point and I like the ride. I go on a lot of roads like the one he was driving in this video, except with some grades. I recommend the lift if you want to get off pavement and explore.
@@sk-wx1cf That is great to hear, I plan on doing the OHV lift when my van is up-fitted. Can I ask how long you have had the lift installed? Did you also go with the 3'' lift in the front?
Thanks for a detailed video! I wonder what are the largest wheels and tires that can be fit on 2.2L Promasters if you were to do some cutting mods to wheel arches? Also, is it possible to do any mod to achieve a smaller turning radius on Promasters?
Nice! Have you ever done a Kona suspension upgrade? It seems for the promaster we only have two options, Bilstein or Kona but have yet to see anyone actually install the kona upgrade. Just looking to know which is best. Great video!
I wish they made two different types of videos for products, one for the uniformed, and one for the rest of us just show us the technology and results.
I’m currently stranded with my 2022 PM 3500! The lift kit, by Off Highway Vans of Utah has caused complete and hazardous failure of my steering. At 25,000 miles it began to wobble to the point that it is too dangerous to drive! NO SHOP in the entire Waco and San Antonio areas will even look at this un drivable thing. But I LIVE full time in it!!! Off Highway Van doesn’t return calls to at least offer some guidance as to where I can go for repairs!!! I want this lift kit OFF MY VAN!!! Save yourself!! Never use a lift kit from anyone including Off Highway Vans of Utah
Very clear, concise, straightforward explanations; so, easily understood-what a relief! Thanks!

Great Job! Excellent Information! A MUST addition for Off-Road Adventure, for sure.
Clear, easy to follow and very educational. Thank you
Glad it was helpful!
Okay I'm sold. I want everything on that table. Your knowledge is great!
Excellent video, very informative. Greatly appreciate your knowledge and educating us.
Happy you enjoyed the video!

Thanks!! Don't worry about loosing us to the dark side 🤣small vans are the best vans (unless you roll with 2-3 kids!).

Any response to the premature wear to the ball joints and axle? I did a lift and 3 months later had issues with both
Suspension questions answered! I am planning on a suspension upgrade on my 2016 extended length Pro master. Thanks so much!

Nice Van and video presentation. Thank you
Thanks for watching!
I did the sumo springs and it fixed my bumpy ride
What size tires are you running?
Some promaster's have a generator under the van. I am guessing this would help lift that out of the way?
I just upgraded to the rear SumoSprings, they didn’t come with instructions.

What’s the cost for all you just shown. Including the rims and tires?
Did you do the front Bilsteins or just the Sumo and the lift spacer?
Very helpful, thank you

Any response to this question
What tires are you running with the suspension upgrade?
Did you give a price? Can we buy directly from you for everything?
Can this be done to the 2015 Promaster City?
Can you show how to lower with airbags or somthing i want to add a wheel chair ramp and van its too high i want to be able to lower and raise up for the wheelchair thanks
my Ram Promaster 3500 is too bouncy on the road, I have Sumos, I think Bilstein rears are next.
Where can we buy this suspension?

Did the heavy bumper improve traction?
Nice vid. All VC components featured?
What do you charge to install all these parts on a promaster?
Chrome what is going n in Canada? It looks serious
What’s the price for front and back lift kit and shocks?
Great video by the way 🤙
Where do I get a van like yours and where can I get all the upgrades

There are screen door kits.
Do you also build on the Ford Transit 3500?
As of now, just Promaster and Sprinter. No Transit is in the plans, but who knows what the future holds?
You did both the Van compass suspension kit and the sumo springs?
The upgrade includes Sumo Springs, Bilstein Shocks, and Van Compass 1 1/2" Lift Kit

Just replied to your email! For anyone else seeing this - Ultra Toil wheels in black, BFG KO2 tires.
Is it reasonable to also shift up to a heavier anti-sway bar in the front?

The front I left alone.
very helpful
Thanks for watching!
On your van with everything including the front sumo spring helpers, is it fairly level at this point? Or is the front a touch higher?
The van normally sits about 1 1/2" lower in the front of the van. The 1 1/2" Van Compass lift kit levels out the van really well.
Did you go with both or just one puck for the rear sumosprings?
Amazing. Thank you for your informative videos. Vanlife is still a dream for us, but I am learning so much from you.
