Me and art have a similar testimony. I grew up in a Christian household most my life. I have for the most part always believed in Jesus, but I never fully surrendered because I didn't know what the looked like until a few days ago. Never in my life has there been more peace and understanding. God is good!!

In 2014 I cried out to God to help me because I was being tormented by demonic entities that did not give me rest day and night. I opened a door to them through unforgiveness toward my mother whom I had a turbulent relationship with throughout my life. The poison of unforgiveness was eating at my heart and soul causing me to be bitter, sad, depressed, angry and lost. At that time I did not know much or anything about Jesus. Then one day it got too much for me to handle and I cried out to God to help me. I was desperate.
In the next few months my life began to change. I felt the presence of Jesus in my room asking me to forgive my mom, and to also forgive myself because I too caused much hurt. Coming from a Jewish background, it was almost taboo to speak about Him. During the time of my unforgiveness and bitterness I was being harassed by demonic spirits that I could not see but I could sense. They caused me to have sleep paralysis, be depressed, angry and kept me up at night. One day someone had dropped off a flier at my door and I just took it and put it by my bed, not thinking too much about it. Then in the evening when I was feeling so down, my eyes glanced over this flier and there was a scripture about the love of Jesus. It was a short and to the point scripture verse but the words were so powerful, my soul knew it was the truth. And when I read those words, they penetrated through all the pain and confusion and there was a glimmer of hope beginning to bubble up in me. So during my sleep paralysis, I heard a voice inside my spirit telling me to pray to “Jesus Christ, Yeshua”. I could not move my body or my mouth, but as the words “Help me Jesus, Help me Yeshua '' formulated in my mind, whatever entity was pinning me down to the bed lifted off immediately and I was able to move again. I ran outside and called my husband on the phone crying because I had never experienced anything like this. This began my journey with the Lord. He spoke to me in my spirit and told me to “Arise” out of bed when I was so down and depressed. He showed me that there is hope and His name is powerful. It was a process and a journey of sanctification and as I began reading about Jesus, and his life, the more I fell in love with Him. I knew He is the Messiah our people (the Jewish people) had denied for so long. I still did not have a bible at that time and did not give my life to Him at that point, because I just didn't know what I needed to do to be saved. During this time of being unsaved, the devil tempted me in so many ways and I ended up committing sins that were atrocious and an abomination. BUT GOD ALMIGHTY, JESUS CHRIST did not give up on me. In 2015 I felt His presence even stronger and I began repenting of my past sins and the Lord began closing doors that needed to be closed and opening new doors that needed to be opened in my life. In December of 2016 I felt in my spirit the Lord speaking to me asking me to get baptized and to get a Bible and to start reading His Word. And I obeyed. After I was baptized and received the Holy Spirit, I began to be guided into all truth. Things I was oblivious to previously as being sinful, God was showing me through the Holy Spirit that I was deceived and I needed to let them go so I could serve Him. One example was the participation of Halloween. As a saved believer, I could no longer participate in this demonic occult practice. It was like a sharp sword of conviction in my heart.
I LOVE the Lord so much because He transformed my heart and life completely and in such a gentle loving Fatherly way. I am a completely different person today than I was 10 years ago because of His Love for me. I desire to please Him and to obey Him and to spend one day eternity with Him. He gave His life for me and for many people and He wants to save us from being separated from Him for eternity and from going to the pits of Hell. I just give Him the Glory, Honor, Power and Blessings for the miracles He has done in my life and the miracles He can and wants to do in every person's life. To God be the Glory. Amen

Thank you for sharing. I’m lifted up hearing your story and I’m happy for you as my sister in Christ that you came back. I have an 87 yr old mother who has never forgiven her mother. My mother brought strife, division, rage into our family and created enmity toward her children and in return, invited enmity toward her. Both my sisters won’t forgive her and have chosen my mother’s response to banish her, as she has done to all of us. I remember forgiving my mother and asking my sisters to at least forgive her, not asking them to call or engage her in conversation. They won’t do it and I understand their hostility.
Sometimes I’m not sure if I’ve forgiven her (or my father) because I occasionally experience these dark moments while awake, where I am brought back to my childhood. My mother or father, my abusers, stand in front of me saying or doing what they once did repeatedly, and I shake with rage at them. Minutes later, I’m “back”and I’m embarrassed by my feelings of hate as I know at least my dad repented in his own way and was kind to me in his final years. My mother was also kind for a while during the wonderful time I was trying to bring her to Christ.
I don’t want to go off on a rant but wish to say thank you for your generous post/letter that has woken a spirit of hope in me. I’m fearful my mother (and sisters) will end up in hell for their unforgivable attitude. My mother despite her self - imposed exile from our family, can be reached in a long drive (7 hours). I plan to show her your letter in hopes it will shake her back into reality. I know Jesus can and may eventually give up on someone who has habitually rejected Him, and I fear the Holy Spirit has moved on from her. Your words have also served for self inspection for me so I can make sure I’ve forgiven everyone. God bless you and to God be the glory. Amen.
@@georgiafan6618 I can relate to that feeling of "have I fully forgiven my parents". it's so hard when you have so much past traumas and the memories are not healed. It makes you wonder am I living in true forgiveness! I don't know the answer to this but I pray in Jesus name we will both be healed from those memories and be able to really know we have truly forgiven 🙏. You are probably similar to me in that you don't have bitterness (like my dad and obviously your mum has) but you still have walls up to protect yourself. Abuse is such a hard pill to swallow when it comes to forgiveness because it leaves you wondering why am I forgiving a person that should really be asking me for forgiveness. But when you read the Bible it is clear we have to. I pray your journey with your mother and sisters will be fruitful 😊

I can relate to the _date_ thing. I grew up in the church, pastor's kid, was baptised while still in school, relatively _late_ for our youth group at age 12. Much later, when I was applying for a job at a different church, one of the questions on the application was _when_ were you baptised by the Holy Spirit? I thought right away, how do I know? Is that even a _legal_ question to have on a job application??? Well, along comes 2012 and that's when the visions started, at the end of May. Hyper-detailed, realistic, life-changing, get out of bed at 3AM and drop to the floor in praise and worship kinds of visions. And yeah, one of those was my baptism with the Holy Spirit, which it turns out does not necessarily coincide with a water baptism. But when it happens, yup, every priority in your life gets radically shifted. The Apostle Paul had it right when he said, everything in this world is utter garbage compared to knowing Christ.
True. For, unless one is truly convicted of the holy & eternal Spirit, Word and the Blood of the Lord, one has not even begun one's walk with God. Let alone daring to classify oneself as good! And if one imagined such convictions come as dramatically as Saul's (Acts 9:1 & 4-8 & 11-19) who is since known as apostle Paul, then one only deceives oneself. For instance, note the conviction of the penitent thief at the cross (Lk 23:41-43). Or for that matter, of that of the centurion's (Mk 15:39). Likewise, of the two men on the road to Emmaus (Lk 24:13-35). There are scores and scores such examples in the scriptures, yet for whatever reason everyone aspires to be another Moses or another Paul. This kind of idolization of mere men even among the so-called children of God is the reason why almost all converted M-hammedans whilst having had spent their entire lifetime until then accusing Paul end up feigning a conversion experience like that of Paul's - complete with spectacular visions and what not - in the fond hope that their entitled selves may be allowed to rule the roost/flock right from the word go!

My younger brother only did one exam and that was Maths he got 100%. He is CEO of a company now. My sister didn't pass in her exams at all. CEO ASL club in New Zealand. I own 2 hair salons was the dumbest😔 but a Christian who is the smartest now, as JESUS CHRIST is life. What's school tests got to do with success. Ok now you've actually sown seeds of doubt. What if you are baptized and took all the steps but don't get dreams/ manifestation? What if circumstances have changed your life so much that you can't " outwardly" progress like going to church?

We all need to be born again or snatched from the kingdom of darkness and brought into Jesus own kingdom of love and life. Beautiful testimony! People love "sensational" encounter testimonies. But THIS is how Christian transformation and walk happen in the real world. And the lessons in this video is very important, absolutely, for every believer.
Amen! I will say that there are many ways God will lead us into transformation and it looks different for everyone, I wouldn't go as far as saying "THIS is how it happens in the real world" because there are sensational transformations that we've documented that are completely true and valid. Art's testimony is just one of those testimonies we need to hear more of in the church.
@@delafetestimonies I want to be understood correctly. "Encounters" from God are found in the bible, and I have had my own too, but even then, transformation never or very rarely comes without a real journey and walk (after the sensational moment) that Art's testimony helps illuminate. That's the picture that is sometimes missing in the understanding of the Christian process and influence including soul-winning, discipleship, spiritual growth, and so on. It's the harder, less pretty, less sensational but very real picture of what actual Christian conversion and transformation actually look like, and I believe it remains common to people who have real transformation by God's Spirit. And not all testimonies of encounters are what they seem to be, and they can often paint a picture of transformation that is not pragmatic in reality. But I won't go into further details on that one.

To be fair, I had my 'sensational' encounter with God on the 23rd of July 2000. Literally, in the blink of an eye my life had changed, completely... transformed into a completely different person, one moment to the next. Of course you have to learn and get closer, and abide in Him. But my life literally changed like a leaf on a tree branch. So I understand where you're coming from, but at the same time... these 'sensational' conversions still happen in real life.

I can relate. Grew up calling myself a Christian. But was shown just a year ago how I’ve lived with one foot in the world, and how this compromise and trying to fit in with the the world had caused me heartache over and over. It wasn’t until I was 52, last year, that I realized I had never really repented of anything my whole life. And by the very fact that I had tried to fit in with the world rather than live my life for God, I had missed so many opportunities to be an agent for Truth.
This is how I came to Christ when someone brought it to my attention that I wasn't really a Christian. Then I thought well thats not good then. Let me seek God about that and I then had a transformation by the Holy Spirit 🧡.

@@timthomas1238 There is no specific black and white sinners prayer, I have heard many, this is an example:
"Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior."
The words mean nothing unless there is sincerity of heart. Its deep and personal. This sinners prayer which I provided is a general guide of acknowledging you are a sinner and fallen short, basically repentance, that you believe Christ died for your sins, that you turn away from sin and ask the Lord into your life, something you didn't have before. This doesn't mean you say it once and that's it. We all sin and continue to sin and this certainly goes for Christians too. I always pray for forgiveness and ask for continued fellowship with God.

@@timthomas1238 As I stated before, there is no specific black and white sinners prayer, it is a prayer that varies from person to person experience and the person leading it. The sinners prayer is based on Biblical concepts of understanding of sin, the consequences of sin, repentance, and the person asking God to change them. It can be short, it can be slightly lengthy. However it must be understood that leading a soul to God doesn't end with the coming to God, but its a start, now comes the tough part and that is discipling the person, encouraging them, stay in contract, bring the person to church, etc so the person will grow in the faith.

The reason I've been a faithful servant of God for over a decade now, faithfully obeying (yes, obeying comes first) and ministering the Word of God, just as they are entrusted to me, to all who may give ear and heed. In that respect, I thank God for you for having received my faithful exhortation and remaining in the Lord - Jn 13:20. Now, go on ahead and bear much and lasting fruits - Jn 15:4-5 - there is no time to lose.

Saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.

Everyone’s walk with Christ is different and is what fits them best for their life it’s all part of God’s divine plan some people will have a specific date for some people it will be gradual and their is so many other different ways. One can know all about God/Jesus, know scripture, serve in ministry, regularly attend church services do, do, do religious acts but not know Jesus personally.

Thanks for sharing your testimony. Like you, I grew up in the church and had a special relationship with God as a child. Some of those moments are still so vivid in my memory and like you again, I cannot point either to a date where I received the Lord as my savior. I always felt a bit weird as I never knew what to say when someone asked me when I received the Lord. Indeed my walk with the Lord has been progressive. I've always loved Him even though in my walk sometimes it seemed as if I only loved myself above anything or anyone else. My objective is to set my eyes on Him more and more and bear good fruit that prevails for eternity.

Trust you'll find the following helpful: Unless one is truly convicted of the holy & eternal Spirit, Word and the Blood of the Lord, one has not even begun one's walk with God. Let alone daring to classify oneself as good! And if one imagined such convictions come as dramatically as Saul's (Acts 9:1 & 4-8 & 11-19) who is since known as apostle Paul, then one only deceives oneself. For instance, note the conviction of the penitent thief at the cross (Lk 23:41-43). Or for that matter, of that of the centurion's (Mk 15:39). Likewise, of the two men on the road to Emmaus (Lk 24:13-35). There are scores and scores such examples in the scriptures, yet for whatever reason everyone aspires to be another Moses or another Paul. This kind of idolization of mere men even among the so-called children of God is the reason why almost all converted M-hammedans whilst having had spent their entire lifetime until then accusing Paul end up feigning a conversion experience like that of Paul's - complete with spectacular visions and what not - in the fond hope that their entitled selves may be allowed to rule the roost/flock right from the word go!

I kow what you mean but our hearts are wicked and we have to renew our minds after being born again, so you can´t just go by what's within; you can know it´s true from within because it´s in the bible and you´ve read it at some point. I think that's what he was referring to; his first source of truth wasn't the bible. It can happen easily in 'churchianity' where you forget where you even got an idea from as it´s been there for a long time, whereas it could be a stronghold. That's why we have to keep checking what we believe is written.

Trust the process of God sanctifying us! So many get discouraged (as I did...sometimes I still do), by specific things done in some and not myself! Then I try to do something to please those who say Im not Christian enough or even at all, because of what God did for them! Thats condemnation, and there is none in Christ! Amen 🙏🏼

The enemy really really gets to me thinking since I didn’t have a special come to Jesus moment rather I’ve seen his love through my parents and others around me my whole life I’ve know and accepted him in my life from a young age but the enemy is sneaky and will tell you lies straight from the pit of hell his grace is enough and once you’ve confessed with your mouth and accepted him to be your savior in your heart you are now saved! Great testimony! God is revealing Himself to everyone. A lot of people just say they are Christians until they really encounter God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
I thought I was a Christian, then moved to another state and found a Christian preaching radio station, mind you I never listened to preaching before voluntarily, just music. I would listen on my way and coming from work. For about a week I was listening and i disagreed on many view points because I came from a worldly POV. I thought the pastor was a bigot old school, and I would get angry. And yet I kept listening. Then one day I’m listening on my way back home and the blinders came off, seriously the truth dropped on me and in that moment I knew I was a sinner and needed to ask Jesus for his forgiveness and balled my eyes out. The one instant change that has still lasted today is that I was delivered from listening to secular music. I just wanted to listen to pastors preach all day long. I can listen to secular music still but it just doesn’t have a hold on me. No grip and I don’t listen to it much, the desire isn’t there. It wasn’t something I was asking for, it just happened. Anyways, I say all this because the scales on eyes are real. I thought I was a Christian, even though I didn’t really have a relationship with Jesus and so many people are like that. They say they’re Christian because they grew up in the church or they know of Jesus. It’s a situation I’m very grateful to my Heavenly Father for pulling me out of.
Romans 10:17 So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

It's interesting that having someone say "I don't even know if you're a Christian" caused you to doubt that yourself. Surely by that point, you accepted Jesus as the savior and didn't believe you were good enough without Jesus, because... I've met those people who think they're good enough. They don't discuss it. They don't worry about it. If they know someone who's genuinely bad, worse than them, they're good enough for heaven, in their eyes.
Im so glad that this testimony is here. I have such a similar back round and everyone else has such amazing stories about how they met Jesus that it makes me sometimes wonder if I have ever really known him.

What an Amazing testimony! It's truly incredible how 1 sentence from someone else can completely alter you perception and motivate you to actually self evaluate your Faith. Me too it's been gradual. I didn't have a pivotal moment. It made me question if I was really saved? It still makes me question my salvation sometimes because I didn't have a pivotal moment?! My journey to unite and be with God and his good grace has been a struggle to say the least. I know in my heart that God knows what's best for me and that I have to surrender everything to him. That's hard to do when Iam so used to this world in its sinful ways. Please pray for my struggle to have confidence in my salvation in Jesus 🙏

Nobody becomes a Christian by accident. Nobody becomes a Christian "over time". Repent. Change your mind. You are not God. You will be judged for every act of selfish, sinful lawlessness. Jesus never said "become a Christian", he said to be a disciple. They're different. Jesus came to save us from our sins; all of them. If He's not set you free from that slavery to sin and your sin nature, He hasn't done in you the ONE THING He was intent on doing; making dead men new.
There is a guy *actually in the bible* that ALSO always believed in God, followed the rules, and served with his fellow believers. Jesus told him he needed to be born again; to be born out of water and the spirit.
It seems that this guy, albeit a nice guy, needs to repent, be baptized for forgiveness, and be filled with the holy spirit. It's THERE that you get the experience he's looking for- salvation.

ehmmm......... All words and truths are not in the bible... The bible is a collection of a library of different individuals that has witnessed through there being and they have done writing as documents about the Living Word that Is Jesus through the holy spirit.
The Holy Spirit leads to all truth that is way beyond "collection of libraries that people have collected and call the "bible"". As even the "bible" witness about.

The Lord has also made known to us His surpassing Righteousness which He alone was faithful to fully exemplify, fulfill, reiterate and reinstate. Last but not the least, He sent us His Holy Spirit. Once you begin to understand these, you will also begin to understand that Church is that which in the making and therefore a mystery right now, a mystery which the Lord will reveal only at His Second Coming.

For the life of me I can’t understand why he wouldn’t remember a FEW of the details.
I’ve known quite a few folks that have had (myself included) some of those “Ah, Ha” moments.
To a person- we all had pretty much total recall.
Those are the times that I DIDN’T jot a “note” in the margin. I KNEW I’d never forget that insight.
To me anyway- when the Lord wants someone’s attention, He gets it. And one doesn’t forget it.

He tells the story of “knowing something was true,” only to find it wasn’t in the Bible, and I thought his story was leading up to a full explanation of it.
Then, as soon as the interviewer questions what the debate was about and what he learned wasn’t biblical, he smiles and just “can’t remember.”
He can remember everything else but the most important details? Just seems like there’s something he doesn’t want to share.

I’m 34 years old it was my birthday yesterday Iv been battling drug addiction for many years by the grace of god I have 9 months away from heroin and cocaine. Iv been very interested in spirituality and not sure we’re to put my faith with my religion.. then all the sleep paralysis started the visions the torment waking up at 3am every night nightmares ext.. fully ready to get baptised now in the name of the Holy Spirit Iv been taking to my local priest and im ready now guys 🙏 I can’t do this alone

I can see why that guy said, "I don't think you are a Christian." This guy is all about works and growing in levels of works. The first shall be last and the last can be first. He don't even remember what the debates were about. How can that be when it was such a huge deal in his life? He doesn't seem to know that salvation is not by works at all. He said relationships with others helped him grow. Grow in what? Religion? Just like his friend, I hope he is saved. I hope he is a christian like the thief on the cross who did nothing but call upon his name.
