YESS this is what i needed. I danced ballet, jazz, and tap as a child and cheerleading as a teen so i have good enough coordination to learn any dance style BUT i could never seem to wrap my head around samba. I could catch on to the basics of salsa, merengue, cumbia, and many types of Mexican music but i could only ever stare at samba dancers like this 👁️👄👁️
I was searching Samba to get more information on my favorite ballroom dance and came upon your videos here Michele. Thank you for doing this for Howcast. It is great getting informed on Samba and seeing you share your passion for it with us. Samba is the happiest music! Nothing compares to it!
Very clear instructions and good photography of the foot placements. Plenty of time in the going slow phase before speeding up. Thanks for very good beginner instructions.
Hello Angelica! If you already learned to samba, you can put it into practice in a choreography, on my channel you can find choreographies of joyful and lively Brazilian songs that among their steps include samba. In addition, each choreography has its own tutorial so that you can learn it. So you are welcome! Let’s move that pelvis and let’s samba!
I don't think it's very nice that so many people here are making fun of her accent. Think about it, put yourself in her shoes. How would you guys like it if you traveled to another country and the locals made fun of your efforts to speak a foreign language? In Brazilian Portuguese the letter "T" is pronounced much like the "Ch" combo is said in English.
"In Brazilian Portuguese the letter "T" is pronounced much like the "Ch" combo is said in English" Not really. The "T" is very strong. I think she's just trying to enounce correctly.
Only in specific regions is the "t" pronounced similarly to the "ch" sound. For example, in São Paulo and Curitiba, they pronounce the "t" in such a way. In places like João Pessoa, they pronounce the "t" like we would in the U.S.

Alot of latin americans pronounce it that way, it's adorable. Beto, the Colombian founder of Zumba totally embraced it and everyone says it that way now as a cute little tribute to him (and many others with similar accents)
They should teach with their back to the camera. It’s much easier to learn and follow dance steps when the instructor is in front of you with their back to you.
It's adorable that she started dancing and then she started smiling. You can tell that she loves it. I can trust her with my sambas.
