kobe's arc wasn't always low though. mainly they are when making deep contested fadeaways because he needs to release more forward due to fading backwards

Actually low arc shots are difficult because the angle makes the rim look "oval" compared to a rainbow shot that will reach an almost perfectly round-shaped rim. Anyway, I've always been amazed by this Parsons's shot, I wondered if I was the only one, glad to see I wasn't.

Although low arcing shots have significantly lower chance of getting in than high arcing shots, I love seeing them more than the other since they look sharp.

its harder to make low arcing shots because low arcs usually mean you are forcing it forward rather than upward and when the ball is trying to enter at a low slope the ball usually hits the back of the rim and rattles out or ends up coming up too short and hits the front of the rim and bounces out. (watch shawn marion's misses). Whereas if it was released at a higher arc it usually just hits straight bottom. you can make low arc threes but you're gonna need a lot of lift like ray allen had and be accurate and precise every time. I would know because i used to have a really low arc and couldn't shoot threes. Watch stephen a smith's shot. thats what mine looked like lmao

Ok look the balk was clearly not going inside the basket but somehow the ball changes it’s angle in mid air. When he went for the shot the ball was lined up on the box on the back board on the left side directly line up on the white line but it changed its angle
@@tsugihagu8392 the ball curves the futher you are from the hoop. The more soon you have on the ball the less it curves but because the arc is so slow there isn't as much force and as much spin so the curve gets exaggerated.
There is no explanation, ball on strings. The NBA is fixed. end of discussion.

I keep looking up to track the ball but it goes flat and I lose track of it.
I just wanted to point out the trajectory in the thumbnail is "physically" (in terms of physics and trajectory) impossible unless there was a rocket strapped to the ball. A ball can't arc to a point and just fly straight. This has been bothering me for a few days and I just had to put it out there.

I don't know why, but when I saw Parsons's shooting , and I think he had impotence.
For me personally I've never noticed an advantage to shooting a higher arching shot. The better angle of trajectory is offset by the fact you are shooting the ball a far greater distance. With a lower arching shot it is easier to line up and you are shooting a shorter distance shot.
With a low arching shot you have to be more precise, and it’s less room for lucky bounces and that type of stuff
Eventually you need to know how to high arc for contested shots.

even though entering angle is smaller for low arching shots, the ball travels less distance so you actually trade force for accuracy when you should it. you dont have to apply exact amount of power for the arch so i think it kinda makes sense when you shoot the ball straight on from the top of the key. I won't be surprised that Parsons shot will become a weapon someday
