I fought a gorilla in the boxing ring as a wheelchair bound chaplin because a cargonian said he'd get me anything. I asked for a pistol and the madlad actually smuggled me an MK 58 Just to be completely disappointed at not being able to store it in the bible.
This is especially juicy as caustic healing meds aren't always readily available for the first part of the round as either botany needs to be on the ball with aloe or the chemist has to make sig which is a bit involved for a non-cryo medication.
Testimony: One time I accidently broke my vow of silence as a mime through the UI. I went straigh to the chaplain and took a new vow of silence through him, prayer, and a contract stamped by mime and chaplain sent to NT. Either it was through time or God's intervention, I miraculously regained my ability to create invisible walls!
I usually raid the chaplain dobe and have a whole bunch. I did wind up arrested once when one of the hats I distributed later turned up in the CE's room after it was broken in to as it had my DNA on it. Sec refused to release me until I told them who I gave the hat to and I was like "my brother in space christ, DO YOU KNOW HOW MANY HATS I HAVE HANDED OUT, WHICH ONE???" Could not recall the person I gave that particular hat to so ended up riding with sec on evac instead of healing people in med 😩. My Remi that spawned was not impressed with them ahah.
On Delta V they can come in the mail. Kinda disappointing when you can't use them as a heathen though. Maybe give the extra to the chaplain so they can dual wield?
The bible's healing cooldown is only per-bible, so if you happen to acquire 4 bibles as a chaplain, you could heal 60 brute/60 burn per cooldown effectively.

But in 13 his null rod barely deals even 15 damage. That same damage as mop or bat. Any real melee weapons deals much more damage, like sec knifes or chefs hatchet

Some maps (Cog for example) have extra Bibles. You can double up as the Chaplain and have double the healing potential!
