@@WhimsyPsyche Nah, you actually did quite well for a beginner. You used Dip and Shove early on and in general used your actions and bonus actions quite well.
I like how Shadowheart's initial conversations teach you about the game. A lot of gamers approach dialogue as a game on its own, where you're rewarded for juicing out as much information as possible. The dialogue in this game is more like conversations in real life, where prying and pushing will have repercussions. Not only will Shadowheart not reward you with kisses and truths, she actively disapproves of your blunt force, rude approach. You are not supposed to milk out every dialogue option. You are meant to think of these characters as people. I love that.

@@Dunybrook Welllll, it is the opposite. Wizards do understand magic in a way no other users can, despite the fact that it may come to others naturaly. There's a reason why Mystra favours wizards, and the most powerful wizards are able to shape the reality in a way no other magic users can. Plus considering the fact that Gale was able to summon bunnies when he was a toddler, he may as well be a sorcerer turned wizard? But I agree he is a snob, especially in the beginning. And that dialogue has the biggest 'oh bless you' energy that he says to any magic users lol, I rolled my eyes together with my druid Tav when I first heard it ha.
@@Dunybrookactually not, a wizzard study magic a lot, a socerers was born with it, so the wizzard has more study about magic. A really powerful wizzard will understand way more than someone that don’t study magic just know how to used
@@Dunybrookhe is not a snob wizards are literally smarter and more knowledgable than most sorcerers thats what differentiates the two. Not that sorcerers arent better at other things but a wizard is much more likely to know how to help with this predicament. Where as some sorcerer from the wilds who learned magic to survive wont have any idea that mind flayers exist possibly
It's crazy how different Shadowheart's reactions are to the initial questions depending on when you ask them. There's really so many options of dialogue in this game, it's almost too much.
Keep an eye out for the ability to scroll down during dialogue options. At 1:17:15 you chose what you thought was the last option, but the scroll bar to the right indicates many more.
i did not know this either! Thank you! 20 hours in xD most of that spent on this battle she does in the chapel right here, (Finally noticed the oil and oil barrels on the ground where they were standing... which FINALLY killed most of them.)
I love the elf ears jewelry detail they look amazing! i wont watch becouse spoilers all i wanted to say was i am glad BG3 was well recieved on the channel so you can play this amazing game and share it will like-minded people.
If you do a second playthrough, you might wanna consider a Dark Urge one, even if you're planning on it being a largely good aligned playthrough. The changes are huge, and it works with whatever alignment you're going for. Paladin is also fascinating because of the oath shaping your approach to things. It's also really fun watching someone agonize over level up decisions lol. It's especially relatable with a sorc where there are just so many things you want and you can't heave them all. Also, a homebrew thing in this game: wet opponents take double damage from cold or lightning damage. One of my favorite things about a cleric is rain on demand.
I use Shadowhearts's create water and my witch bolt/ice knife ALL THE TIME, they're basically my go to now 🤣 So useful!! I really wanna try Dark Urges, or playing as one of the origin characters. Sounds so much fun!
Precious tips: you can "Throw" a healing potion; it heals everything in a small area. It's better than Healing Words (to a small cost; since healing potion will be easy to do or buy in the mid-game and later)
I found it to be really unreliable. I don't know if it's bugged or the splash rolls a separate chance for each target, but it rarely heals everyone it shows it's hitting with the splash.
I get really annoyed with people commenting these kinds of things in youtube comments, just let the person play the game and discover stuff themselves! This behavior feels almost exploitive anyway, and is not at all necessary.
@@marmichaud The group hug healing potion throwing shows up in the loading screen...? I haven't seen that, and... find it a little hard to believe? It feels like an unintential use, but... what do I know lol, can you give me the timestamp? I'm curious how the game words it if so. It's also very finicky, which even further makes me think it's unintentional.
Remember: a natural 1 is an automatic failure and a natural 20 is an automatic success. So, if you have a +5 from your bonuses and you need to reach at least 5, there's still a 5% chance you'll fail. Similarly, if there's a crazy high threshold and you have like... -1, there's still a 5% chance to succeed.
@@KrimsonKrackerActually, this is unique to Baldurs Gate. If you roll a 1 on Table Top DnD, you can still pass a DC if you have enough bonuses and proficiencies. She may not know this about BG3.
@@ogbaxstar Oh interesting! Had no clue D&D let you nullify the infamous "Nat 1s" with bonus scores... It certainly makes this game more dynamic knowing you ALWAYS have a chance to fail checks, regardless of bonus (also boosts Halfling usefulness)! 🤔
healing word is great and way better than most think at first (especially to get up downed friends), it uses only a bonus action and has a great range! cure wounds is bad, uses a full action and you need to be close. Also always good to throw healing potions (or potions of speed and such) at party members. Saves spell slots. If they are standing close together throw them at the ground before them and heal several at once. Useful after a fight too to heal up a group. Put a potion on the ground. Stand close. Smash the potion.
and use short rests after fights to heal up the party if badly wounded. Take long rests often too, long rests are even needed to advance the story sometimes and has no penalties and often you can talk to your group in camp for new information.
What I love most of this game is that we all have a different play through, so much replaying. If you have any issues in the future just let Larion know and they will take care of it for you quickly.
So true! I actually tweeted at them about the lack of tutorial for PS5 glitch, and two days later it was patched. Doubtful it was because of me but I find it funny now that you say that 🤣 Maybe I should write them about quality of life updates they could do about party and inventory management, which are by far the most frustrating parts of this game hahaha
the beginning of the game is actually one of the hardest parts, especially with a caster- heavy team. maybe replace gale with laezel for now if you have issues. there are certainly some harder encounters here and there later on, but the lack of good spells and spellslots in general makes the beginning very punishing if you don't know the game or the encounters very well.
I would agree!! I'm still in Act 1, but I barely die anymore. Definitely gets easier once you get the hang of things and have synergies. I was even thinking of switching to tactician!
Glad you are making this a full playthrough on the channel!!! Because it's not very clear I will leave one tip for you, to get sneak attack you need advantage (from being hidden first or somethin else) OR have an ally in melee with the target. Thanks for the great video :)
1:27:00 I don't know if you've already figured it out later in the video, but that shovel could be looted by either shuffling between targets with left and right D-pad buttons or by holding down X to view all nearby intractables. I myself found the hold X option 40 hrs into the game 😅 Certainly would have been useful for looting earlier.
@@lockekappa500 It's actually quite easy. The area looting makes it very simple if there are a lot of corpses/single items in small space. Just hold X and then go through the list that it provides in order. I only wish it had the * indicator for not yet looted corpses, but that would only save a fraction of a second on each already looted corpse. The problem is I don't think the game ever gives a tutorial for it since, AFAIK, it's a controller only feature and they must have missed it in QA so most people don't figure it out until way later into the game if at all. The d-pad looting is fine but can sometimes take 2-3 extra button presses compared to an accurate mouse click and suffers if you've killed 3+ enemies into the same "square". In general I think the controller controls are well done. They're a bit complex but very intuitive once you get used to them. Heavy reliance on radials was a good call, considering how well Diablo 3 plays on controller.
Couple of minor gameplay tips, for less headache in the future ( or ignore the following, I do not remember your backseating rules for this game ^^): -- When in difficult terrain like Grease, jump out, dont move (unless you need your bonus action for something else). Less falling on butt or wasting meters. -- Dont shove just because you can. For example, you had a casterskeleton in Shadowheart's melee range and tried to shove him away. Up close is where you want him, casters and archers either give you an opportunity attack when they try to move away, or are forced to attack with disadvantage. -- Rogues like Astarion have Dash as a bonus action. Often can make good use of that mobility while still attacking (or helping) after in the same turn.
Love it, hope you're gonna continue, and happy that you like this game :) BG3 in excellent in letting you be creative with enviroment, f.e. that first group fight in dungeon, you can pull the lever to open and close the door (it cannot be opened from other side), meaning you can lure enemies one by one and closing the door behind them every time one of them run through. Freedom in these things and especially usable enviroment are one of the best parts of this game :)
Elf Whimsy! Whoop whoop! Those ears look so pretty! 17:15 The decisions you have to make for what spells to take is way too difficult. 29:05 The pouch, the backpack and the keychain are the containers the tutorial mentioned. You can open them and look at what's inside. 01:18:10 Well, that escalated quickly! I just made them run away. 😂 01:22:15 You really don't like Shadowheart, ey? 01:39:10 That happens to me a lot as well when I'm too lazy to split the group and move them individually. 01:47:40 I tried this fight a few times. It's super hard. I mean, I didn't have Gale, but still. I need to go back to them now and destroy them. 😂 02:11:10 Those high percentage chance misses are so infuriating! These are so fun! Excited for more! Have a lovely day, Whimsy!
ProTip: Magic Missile fires multiple missiles as you level up. This means that, rules as written, each missile forces a targeted spellcaster to make a concentration check to maintain their own spells.
Mage armor you just need to cast once and it lasts until a long rest. You can cast it out of combat. And about not wearing armor, mages and sorcerers don't wear armor, they wear cloth. Armor gives penalty to magic. Mage armor is the best way for a mage or a sorcerer to raise AC.
I always forget about my buffs, I need to do that more 😂 I'm just like 'oooh nice scenery, let's explore and-oh who's that?' and then ROLL INITIATIVE 🤣🤣
It's normal to struggle with this things on the beginning. Remember that Shadowheart has bless which is one of the strongest early magics in the game. And don't ignore magic missile, it never misses, it's a garanteed hit in multiple targets (or concentrated in one if you prefere)
In fifth edition, arcane spellcasters can wear armor effectively, if they have the proficiencies. Arcane spell failure of previous editions was removed in the fifth edition.
A tip I didn't see anyone else mention. When you hold X (I think it's X on PlayStation) you can search the area around your character. I find that to be easier than walking to everything that you see (or don't see) when holding R3.
No need to apologize for taking the time to learn the game mechanics! It will pay of ten fold over the course of the game saving a ton of time and making the rest of the adventure go smoothly! 😊
god, watching someone play this game on console makes me blessed to have it on PC. The whole wheel stuff and controls in general look like a nightmare.
You're character looks great, Whimsy! My first playthrough, I made a Drow Half-Elf wizard necromancer, and my character looks hot. Played 20hrs of BG3 and so far, I am really enjoying this game. At the beginning, it was rough for me, I had to reload so much because how tough it is in turn based combat. I switched to explorer difficulty (for Act 1 or I'm keeping it that). It plays fine. Nothing too easy, I would say.
There is so much good moment in this 100h game. Hâte de voir comment tu vas résoudre les quêtes. play along. Even "fail" turns out sometime to be better than expected.
can't wait to see your adventure ! :D I love the way you are in character, voicing over your character and everything ! How often do you think you are going to upload theses ?
Like it how you are getting excited with all the different options and choices. You also can equip your party members with enhanced gear. Astarion, in example, fights quite well with a second dagger (extra attack with bonus action) or another dexterity based weapon for more damage.
Just a quick heads up about the saves. Yeah is best if you save as often as possible. On PC there's a quick save key, don't know if there's one on PS5. And remember you can save almost any time... mid battle and even mid dialogue.
I have 400 hours in the game and you've stumbled upon a couple things I haven't seen before, it's crazy how in depth this game is. Looking forward to more!
The Grease idea in the crypt was good, but instead you could have lured them by hiding inside the small room, and they would have had to walk over the grease to get to you, that´s when you spring the Asmodeus Lineage on them and ignite the grease with a firebolt 😈
Loved the first walkthru!!! Had to find more from you, so I subbed! Thank you! I am playing for the first time on Xbox and I had ZERO tutorials. I come from a Final Fantasy background with a pretty basic understanding of DND so I struggled quite a bit. Your video helped :)
i seriously cant wait to see your playthrough ive already got over 200 hours in the game and have played like 6 different campaings with different styles (druid, monk, cleric, etc) and ive only just got to the very beggening of act 3 on 2 of my campaigns the amount of things you can do in this game is INSANE all ill suggest is try to explore as much of the map as possible cause there are things everywhere im def gonna be watching this for a while and while your playing mass effect i can eventually just binge that so that will be awesome i hope you enjoy this game cause it is seriously such an amazing time and in the future i would so reccomend multiplayer that adds so much fun as well
Haven’t watched all the way through but holding A on my controller helps with interacting with things around you. You can also have more auto save slots in the options menu.
Awesome, thank you for sharing your playthrough ❤️I enjoyed it very much! Hints below, read or not: Just like in D&D, can ask DM if character can use bonus to improve skill check, so every dice roll can look for a Add Bonus option at bottom. Shadowheart has guidance she can cast anytime, adds 1-4 points to every roll, very helpful for lockpicking or conversations. It is possible to take down that first group at current level-it took me several tries before I realized they were stand really close to a barrel of oil that one firebolt can explode with very satisfying results. A well-placed bottle of grease or spell and they have to walk through fire to get to you 😊 Good job taking down the guardians on the first try! 👍 My sorcerer’s favorite spells are twinned Chromatic Orb-can do damage and create ice patch enemies might slip on, or do double electric damage if standing in water and Magic Missile, for when really needed to hit multiple enemies with only a few hit points remaining-doesn’t need line of sight and never misses. Looking forward to next video! 😁
I'm so glad you're doing this playthrough on youtube and not streaming it. While I don't mind streamers, they always seem to get influenced by chat in most cases. Also, it takes you out of the immersion whenever anyone pops in to chat or subs or gift subs or anything that chimes in the game. Not to mention, the streamer is constantly looking at chat instead of playing the game. It really gets annoying sometimes. 1:38:45 - "Are they hostile already??" - After Whimsey steals a lot of their stuff out of the chapel. lol
Youre doing great. Loved watching the first 2 episodes. Im over 100 hours into my campaign, and there is just so so much unique and interesting interactions with the environments and spells and other things. Some quick tips/clarifications of things youve been already exposed to (no spoilers on mechanics you havent tried yet or have encountered) You can prepare spells anytime out of combat. You could have absolutely jumped into that hole outside the crypt where you met those bandits. Just have to be more precise with the trajectory. Birds eye view/top down helps immensely for something like that. Try to be a bit more precise with your character movement during turn based mode. By this, i mean rotating your camera angle would help incredibly so you can see much better and attack much more often. Im sure youve probably discovered that Shadowhrart has sacred flame as a cantrip which has a lot of range for her by now if youre 10 hours into your playthrough, but thought id mention it! Since you have the guidance cantrip on Shadowheart, there is no reason not to use it every single dice check. Ranged combat is important! There isnt many situations that you cant hit anything at range if melee is too far (or move up to close the gap and shoot instead of skipping turn) Throwing a health potion is an action, but can heal downed party members and also has a small radius = AoE healing if your group is close together. Love how much youre exploring and taking your time, enjoy this masterpiece!
Ahhh, I want to watch more of this but I have my own game to finish...I hate hard choices. You've made some interesting choices, gonna be fun to see what you do.
About the tutorials not working. I bought the PS5 version which included early access. Completed the game. Had no idea there were tutorials until you just said it. All I did was look at the controls in the options. You were wondering how people that are unfamiliar with D&D would do with the game. I've never played D&D properly (just a few sessions of AD&D decades ago) but I still really enjoyed the game. I have played and ran lot's of tabletop systems though. I would say that playing other CRPG's was more helpful than anything else.
A word of advice. Generally in turn based games you want to take out the enemy with the lowest health first. In the fight in the crypts you focused on fighting the tanks first instead of sending Astarion and to kill the mages as a result the tank kept dodging attacks and did its job as a tank and the mages got to kill your party members multiple times and you had to use a lot of potions. Always kill the mages first they have low h.p but have high damage best to kill them first.
I snuck up on Astarion, pickpocketed a few items, got caught, fought and killed him, looted him down to his undies, resurrected him with a scroll and yes, he commented on his own death after we talked afterwards 😂😂😂
Ahhh I just found you from your previous Baulders gate video and I just think you’re awesome!! And that little song was too cute!! I know nothing about Baulders gate or DND but I’m excited to watch your gameplay!!
One thing I don’t like about this game is that it effectively requires you to play multiple classes at the same time. I’d really like an auto-level-up option for the other party members. I don’t mind controlling them in combat, but I don’t want to have to deal with picking skills and feats and spells for all of the characters when they are a class I’m less familiar with.
Loving your playthrough, i want to leave you some tips in combat, you may want to be aware of who has dark vision and the light of the sorrounding, also you can see in the caracter portrait who is concentrating in spells (i.e. silence spell) so you can atack that target and interrupt its concentration. Hope you keep playing and having a great time doing it.
Because I can only use it once per rest and I didn't feel like this was the right moment, that's all 😊 Sometimes I make decisions on a whim as well, I can think of other times where I actually used it but I didn't need to in dialogues, so be prepared haha
I had the same problem in those ruins first time through, but I went down through that hole and they kept firebombing me. It's a real pity how many people don't realize how to best utilize Shadowheart because she can turn undead and make the fight in the dank crypt a cakewalk.
This is episode 2, the very beginning of the game. I needed some time to learn all the mechanics! Don't worry, I utilize all of Shadowheart's arsenal down the line 😊 There's a natural progression in learning how to play a new game, you can't expect a first playthrough to play the same way in beginning of Act 1 vs end of the game.
There is important to read everything before making decision. Some conversations are just informative, so you know better what your decision will be. Read minds is usually best informative, but not always. Like now, you just choosen evil conversation option to free Lazael from trap :D
I know this is a very biased view, but I can't help but wonder if you would have an easier time on the PC version. On PC almost ALL of your options are on the screen, while on console they had to divide everything up, and your hunt to find things is noticeable. Even a simple task of reading a book, it was not obvious a 2nd page was there, but on PC it's quite clear. Since you are familiar with D&D, I can see you know what you want to do, just not where to find such option. There's a lot to learn, beyond the controls.
I totally see what you mean. This game is definitely meant to be played on PC, you can feel it when playing on console in my opinion. Not that it's unplayable, but I can notice things that frustrate me that would never be a problem with a keyboard and mouse. The only major advantage I can think of is the more cinematic vibe of playing on console when you're just walking around. Using the controller and having a clean layout is actually really nice, whereas when I watch someone play on PC it kind of annoys me how cluttery it is. But yeah apart from that, pretty sure all the rest must be better on PC!
@@WhimsyPsyche Sadly the PC has the best of both worlds, as you can literally pick up your controller and it will go right into the cinematic third person view, and then go into M&K mode by just clicking your mouse. And it all is seamless without any lag or anything. It's what I've been doing in my playthrough and it's truly the best of both worlds.
@@WhimsyPsyche Even vs wet enemies, Lightning Chromatic Orb and Ice Knife both do more immediate damage + AoE splash damage. Perhaps against a super tanky boss, an upcast Witch Bolt MIGHT be an option, though your caster will likely lose Concentration at some point.
Oh, Chromatic orb and Ice knife sure have their advantages, I agree. But I found Witch bolt to be especially useful against fast moving targets, like the teleporting spiders. Once the connection is made, we're good to go! Concentration could also be helped with the War Caster feat. You did mention on Lvl 1 though so I'm getting ahead of myself here, but yeah I think Witch bolt works well!
@@WhimsyPsychealso when in camp and before sleeping always talk to your team regardless if it doesnt have the exclamation point. It progresses their relationships with your character
@@WhimsyPsyche Well except Shar is kind of the exact opposite. She hates Selune and everything that exists since Selune helped another diety to create the world and its creatures.
Man, playing on console for this game looks aggravating. It's not remotely this big of a learning curve on PC. Having to scroll through so many menus and rotating wheels to sort through all the mechanics. I'm not opposed to item wheels, but when it's all you have to work with in a game of this scope, I feel for you
1:18:00 You looked suprised and confused here lol. You persuaded the tieflings to kill laezel. And laezel of course will defend herself. So ofcourse you now have to choose if youre going to side with the tieflings or laezel. You are the one who persuaded them to attack. Lol
I persuaded them to drop the cage down, and then I thought I would have more choices than just 'kill tieflings' and 'kill lae'zel'. I understand now (after having played over 40 hours of the game) that maybe this would've gone as I thought if that choice would've been a 'Deception' instead of 'Persuasion'. But I didn't know that back then when I had just started the game. That's all!
@WhimsyPsyche It says "[Persuasion] Shoot the trap down. We must kill it before it harms someone." I think you just read the "shoot the trap down" part and didnt continue to "lets kill her before she harms someone" part. Which is okay. J sometimes misread some choices too. I also feel that you chose it because as youve said it that time you have a high persuasion. We tend to pick the choice that most likely to succeed and forgot to mind the action it will do.
Oh yes, that can definitely happen! That's not the case for me here though. I read the whole thing, but I thought I would have more choices after. Like I said, I didn't understand this was a 'final' choice, and I understood it like the game treats 'deception' choices. And then I thought I could do something else after I had convinced them. I just misunderstood the gameplay mechanic basically! Hope it cleared it up for you! 😊
Yes, I understood. I simply did not know I would have only two choices after making them free her, the choices being attacking her or attacking them. I thought I would have more options, unfortunately it wasn't the case.
@@WhimsyPsyche OK. But then I think you still misunderstood. Because you were not encouraging them to free her, but to open the door and kill her. Even if you had a new persuasion check (Like: "Hold on! I have changed my mind! we need her alive!) it was not guaranteed to succeed.
whell, that's Lae'zel for you, always with black and white choices at the start of the campaign also makes for personalized playthrough, which it should be with this game also, the option is "shoot the trap down, we must kill it" xD
I did let Leazeal die. I know this game has character development, but I didn't have the time nor patience to wait for her to develop into someone bearable.

It's crazy how different Shadowheart's reactions are to the initial questions depending on when you ask them. There's really so many options of dialogue in this game, it's almost too much.
Yes, even the order you choose to talk to companions can change how other ones react!
I'm sure Shadowheart thought it was real funny when she was near death watching you drink so many health potions you didn't need.
SO TRUE HAHA she should've left the party right then and there 🤣
Keep an eye out for the ability to scroll down during dialogue options. At 1:17:15 you chose what you thought was the last option, but the scroll bar to the right indicates many more.
Omg I NEVER noticed that and I'm 10 hours in. Oh lord now I'm going to have nightmares on everything I might've missed 🤣 Thank you for telling me!
i did not know this either!
Liiiist thank you so much 🥺 I hope you enjoy your playthrough!
Seeing her just chug three potions made me laugh. Literally this was me 3 weeks ago when I got the game haha. I love this game.
Learning the hard way 🤣
From the way this character was described, I wouldn't expect her to immediately murder two tieflings to save a gith. 🤣
@@j.d.4697 didn't have that problem for now. But maybe with a member with a low affinity?
I get really annoyed with people commenting these kinds of things in youtube comments, just let the person play the game and discover stuff themselves! This behavior feels almost exploitive anyway, and is not at all necessary.
@@nZifnab The tips appeared 12 times in her loading screen....
That's a great thing to remind most players! though I'd assume Whimsy already knew this given her experience with D&D... 🤔
@@ogbaxstarit's not unique to Baldur gate. Auto fail on a 1 and auto success on 20 is basic dnd rules unless you have homebrew rules.
@@lawfulgoodnun1646 Critical successes and failures are only for attack rolls and saving throws. Skills and ability checks do not have critical rules.
healing word is great and way better than most think at first (especially to get up downed friends), it uses only a bonus action and has a great range! cure wounds is bad, uses a full action and you need to be close.
Omg ❤❤ Thank you, thank you, that's my eveningsorted and You have improved my day quite a bit.
Awww Emma that's so sweet! Hope you enjoy
yay more baldurs gate glad the first video did so well too, your channel’s really popping off with every new game whimsy!!:)
Jessicaaa thank you so much 😭
Elf ears you look awesome Whimsy!!!
Thanks Tony!! Finally a perfect occasion to wear them 🤣
What I love most of this game is that we all have a different play through, so much replaying. If you have any issues in the future just let Larion know and they will take care of it for you quickly.
So true!
I actually tweeted at them about the lack of tutorial for PS5 glitch, and two days later it was patched. Doubtful it was because of me but I find it funny now that you say that 🤣
Maybe I should write them about quality of life updates they could do about party and inventory management, which are by far the most frustrating parts of this game hahaha
I've practically played this everyday since it came out on ps5. The amount of restarts I've had due to thinking I wanna be a different race.
It's sooo tempting to just try them all 🤣
the beginning of the game is actually one of the hardest parts, especially with a caster- heavy team. maybe replace gale with laezel for now if you have issues. there are certainly some harder encounters here and there later on, but the lack of good spells and spellslots in general makes the beginning very punishing if you don't know the game or the encounters very well.
Looting seems really rough on controller, I miss my M&K when I watch people play on controller.
This Let's Play is so good. The best one I have found. Great work Whimsy! Gather your party and venture forth!
I started playing this game 2 days ago. Watching you play, and hearing you read the script....top notch. Thank you!
Thank you so much 🥰 I hope you're enjoying the game too! What race and class did you choose?
Couple of minor gameplay tips, for less headache in the future ( or ignore the following, I do not remember your backseating rules for this game ^^):
-- When in difficult terrain like Grease, jump out, dont move (unless you need your bonus action for something else).
Most fun part watching streamers - betting, when they learn about Shadowheart's guidance during dice rolls :)
I looove that too, it's amazing!!
01:22:15 You really don't like Shadowheart, ey?
01:39:10 That happens to me a lot as well when I'm too lazy to split the group and move them individually.
01:47:40 I tried this fight a few times. It's super hard. I mean, I didn't have Gale, but still. I need to go back to them now and destroy them. 😂
02:11:10 Those high percentage chance misses are so infuriating!
Thank you so much for your understanding 🥰 I'm 10 hours in and I'm still learning/figuring stuff out 🤣
god, watching someone play this game on console makes me blessed to have it on PC.
Aaah Slade I'm glad you're enjoying the game too! No shame in turning down the difficulty, the game is quite tough indeed!
There is so much good moment in this 100h game. Hâte de voir comment tu vas résoudre les quêtes. play along. Even "fail" turns out sometime to be better than expected.
I'm so excited! J'espère que tu vas aimer 🥰 And that's such a good mindset to have!
can't wait to see your adventure ! :D I love the way you are in character, voicing over your character and everything ! How often do you think you are going to upload theses ?
Thank you so much! 🥰 It's once a week for now, but as soon as Mass Effect 2 playthrough is done, it's going to be 3 times a week!
It's always disconcerting when you think you're fine, and "Survival Failed" pops up over your head.
I hope you continue uploading your playthroughs of this game. They are so fun to watch. This game is amazing.
Yes I am! New episode is out 🥰
Like it how you are getting excited with all the different options and choices.
You also can equip your party members with enhanced gear.
Astarion, in example, fights quite well with a second dagger (extra attack with bonus action) or another dexterity based weapon for more damage.
Very good "roleplay" in the spirit of D&D. Enjoy the surprises.
Thank you so much 🥰
Just a quick heads up about the saves.
Waaah that's crazy! Now I'm curious, I wonder what are the things you hadn't seen yet? 👀
The Grease idea in the crypt was good, but instead you could have lured them by hiding inside the small room, and they would have had to walk over the grease to get to you, that´s when you spring the Asmodeus Lineage on them and ignite the grease with a firebolt 😈
Omg that's genius, I'm stealing that for next time 🔥
Loved the first walkthru!!! Had to find more from you, so I subbed! Thank you! I am playing for the first time on Xbox and I had ZERO tutorials. I come from a Final Fantasy background with a pretty basic understanding of DND so I struggled quite a bit. Your video helped :)
Aaah that's awesome!! I'm glad if I could be of any help! I also didn't know much what I was doing back then 🤣
i seriously cant wait to see your playthrough ive already got over 200 hours in the game and have played like 6 different campaings with different styles (druid, monk, cleric, etc) and ive only just got to the very beggening of act 3 on 2 of my campaigns the amount of things you can do in this game is INSANE all ill suggest is try to explore as much of the map as possible cause there are things everywhere im def gonna be watching this for a while and while your playing mass effect i can eventually just binge that so that will be awesome i hope you enjoy this game cause it is seriously such an amazing time and in the future i would so reccomend multiplayer that adds so much fun as well
Hey what do you mean my Bard loves that Feathered hat!😂
Haven’t watched all the way through but holding A on my controller helps with interacting with things around you. You can also have more auto save slots in the options menu.
Awesome, thank you for sharing your playthrough ❤️I enjoyed it very much! Hints below, read or not:
Just like in D&D, can ask DM if character can use bonus to improve skill check, so every dice roll can look for a Add Bonus option at bottom.
A well-placed bottle of grease or spell and they have to walk through fire to get to you 😊
Good job taking down the guardians on the first try! 👍
My sorcerer’s favorite spells are twinned Chromatic Orb-can do damage and create ice patch enemies might slip on, or do double electric damage if standing in water
and Magic Missile, for when really needed to hit multiple enemies with only a few hit points remaining-doesn’t need line of sight and never misses.
1:38:45 - "Are they hostile already??" - After Whimsey steals a lot of their stuff out of the chapel. lol
I love your gameplay and the strategies you choose.
You've got a new subscriber 🎉
Youre doing great. Loved watching the first 2 episodes. Im over 100 hours into my campaign, and there is just so so much unique and interesting interactions with the environments and spells and other things. Some quick tips/clarifications of things youve been already exposed to (no spoilers on mechanics you havent tried yet or have encountered)
You can prepare spells anytime out of combat.
There isnt many situations that you cant hit anything at range if melee is too far (or move up to close the gap and shoot instead of skipping turn)
Throwing a health potion is an action, but can heal downed party members and also has a small radius = AoE healing if your group is close together.
Love how much youre exploring and taking your time, enjoy this masterpiece!
Ahhh, I want to watch more of this but I have my own game to finish...I hate hard choices.
You've made some interesting choices, gonna be fun to see what you do.
Samesies
I totally get that!! The videos will always be there, no rush to watch!
I still accidentally drink potions all the time, nice to see i'm not the only one!
THREE TIMES IN A ROW unbelievable 🤣
Ill never get tired of magic missles always hitting lol, (at the lvl up)
1:33:48 .. you can jum in easily .. on PC :D
On controller you need probably tilt the camera to better angle so you can point to the ground below
0:25 yes, many many glorious hours of bg3
I snuck up on Astarion, pickpocketed a few items, got caught, fought and killed him, looted him down to his undies, resurrected him with a scroll and yes, he commented on his own death after we talked afterwards 😂😂😂
No way hahaha that's too funny!
wow thats HILARIOUS i love this!
I have the impresion that your RL Lilith use the minor illusion cantrip like a swiss pocket knife. 😄
Hahaha trying at least 🤣
Loving your playthrough, i want to leave you some tips in combat, you may want to be aware of who has dark vision and the light of the sorrounding, also you can see in the caracter portrait who is concentrating in spells (i.e. silence spell) so you can atack that target and interrupt its concentration.
Hope you keep playing and having a great time doing it.
You really need a Melee Companion in your Party. Lae'zael seems to do the trick ;)
And Gale und Lilith should stand far away from your enemies
Awesome just watched the first one yesterday. Enjoy :)
Let's gooo thank you!!
Glad your having fun, only thing I'd recommend, is to be as creative as you can, there's lots of ways to solve all the situations in BG3
That's what I love most I think. Gotta think outside the box 🧐
2:09:23- Probably should use Tides of Chaos here, given the guaranteed miss otherwise...
Because I can only use it once per rest and I didn't feel like this was the right moment, that's all 😊 Sometimes I make decisions on a whim as well, I can think of other times where I actually used it but I didn't need to in dialogues, so be prepared haha
@@WhimsyPsyche That makes sense. No need to waste it in non-critical battles I suppose.
Pretty sure Lilith has a potion addiction. She will just drink them all and leave her friends hurting.
LMAOOO true true
11:55 inadvertent pun i assume?😂
hahahah i didn't even notice!
Magic missile is the best for guaranteed dmg.
Outstanding job 👌👍🎉
Why thank you so much 🥰
Grease: "hi my name is Grease, I am very effective!"
Hahhah just gotta learn how to use it properly 🤣
Witch Bolt pales in comparison to most Lvl 1 spells like Magic Missile, Chromatic Orb or Ice Knife in nearly all situations.
Disagreed. Combined with a create water spell I found it quite effective. Gotta be creative, this is DnD after all 😊
@@WhimsyPsyche Even vs wet enemies, Lightning Chromatic Orb and Ice Knife both do more immediate damage + AoE splash damage.
Came here for bg3. Good job
Nice! Welcome in!!
@@WhimsyPsychealso when in camp and before sleeping always talk to your team regardless if it doesnt have the exclamation point. It progresses their relationships with your character

This game also causes a lot of power outages for me.
And always when I fail a really important conversation, it's strange... 🤔
😋
Hahaha mmmh convenient 🤣
I wish one day there will be an Alistair from dragon age mod because i want him in there beeing all clueless
Beautiful outfit, like a moon elf or something. Maybe you should be a Selunite.
Thank you so much 🥰 Haven't seen any Selûne worshippers yet, closest would be our dear fellow Shadowheart with Shar, now I'm curious 🤩
@@WhimsyPsyche
Well except Shar is kind of the exact opposite.
She hates Selune and everything that exists since Selune helped another diety to create the world and its creatures.
Man, playing on console for this game looks aggravating. It's not remotely this big of a learning curve on PC. Having to scroll through so many menus and rotating wheels to sort through all the mechanics. I'm not opposed to item wheels, but when it's all you have to work with in a game of this scope, I feel for you
1:18:00
You looked suprised and confused here lol.
That's all!
@WhimsyPsyche
It says
"[Persuasion] Shoot the trap down. We must kill it before it harms someone."
I think you just read the "shoot the trap down" part and didnt continue to "lets kill her before she harms someone" part.

WE UNDERSTAND! 😅🤣
You must be new here 🤣 Get ready, it's a running gag at this point hahaha
@@WhimsyPsyche 🤣
You did mot understand you drove those Tieflings into battle by persuading them to attack Lae'zel ?
Yes, I understood. I simply did not know I would have only two choices after making them free her, the choices being attacking her or attacking them. I thought I would have more options, unfortunately it wasn't the case.
@@WhimsyPsyche
OK.
But then I think you still misunderstood.
Because you were not encouraging them to free her, but to open the door and kill her.
Even if you had a new persuasion check (Like: "Hold on! I have changed my mind! we need her alive!) it was not guaranteed to succeed.
whell, that's Lae'zel for you, always with black and white choices at the start of the campaign
also makes for personalized playthrough, which it should be with this game
also, the option is "shoot the trap down, we must kill it" xD
I did let Leazeal die.
I know this game has character development, but I didn't have the time nor patience to wait for her to develop into someone bearable.
Dang we got a song and all.
Awesome videos

@@WhimsyPsyche Awesome thank you I did look I think I missed it
Watching her not save the game is giving me anxiety 😭
Literally 20 minutes and moved 3 feet. It's going take this gal 3 years to beat this game.
Yup
I need to know if you saved the brain with your other character. That little guy was weirdly cute 😂
Yes I did!! He was part of the party and was fighting with us! Haha
@@WhimsyPsyche I'm glad that you experienced that little dude. Their running animation cracks me up.
Little brain guy is also definitely the friendliest companion, at least in the beginning!
The game is a little hard at start, but later your party will be scaling really good, so I recommend to play on Tactician
I might switch it up later! Still thinking about it
Love the outfit 👍
Thank you~
Is there a reason why you play on PS? It looks more complicated than on a PC.
It's always nice to a fellow connoisseur of the CRPG art form. *tips fedora*
I welcome thee, dear fellow 🥸
