Oddly enough that is exactly how they discovered a lot about medical procedures by expermenting. Scary as that seems it has worked all these years. But it’s still spooky.
Donavan's Brain was a great title. Changing it to "The Lady and the Monster" was idiotic. They do remakes all the time using the original titles, so this was completely unnecessary. I just want to comment on Vera Ralston. Herbert Yates who ran Republic Pictures was her protégé and promoted her whenever he could. Critics panned her acting and her accent, but I've watched her over the years and disagree. She was charming and projected emotion well. She also had an asymmetric beauty that was fascinating. I never saw this one before - so thanks.
As I was watching this movie, the name Donovan and the situation with the brain kept nagging at my own brain....pun intended....! I knew there is movie called Donovan's Reef, and I thought that there was another movie called Donovan's Brain, but I wasn't sure until the ending credits said that this movie was based on the novel of the same name, and that this movie was made after the movie Donovan's Brain. I thought this was a good movie.
This may be some kind of a strange movie , but I'd rather be watching the older films than the sicker films of today . 😮 😢
You betcha. Me too. 👍👍
Keep these oldies coming please 😊
Couldn't agree more!

Omg, this was far better than the national news!
Good olden days of hollywood movies never seen again😮
Anybody else see the sheet going up and down on the dead guy ? I love these old classics. I wonder if this inspired the song "I ain't got no body"?
Thanks for sharing!

A Good 🎥 ,Thanks 😀👋

A great (albeit controversial) silent film director, and a famous silent film star, both needing the money.
Lol I just watched a movie yesterday on Tubi called "The brain" and in this one the millionaires name, who died in the plane crash, was Max Holt.
great movie..............

Her acting is horrible..very cardboard
@buckymaxwell3801 I agree and lol, there's another version called "The brain" only the plane crash victims name in this one is Max Holt.😊
Loved the women's dresses back then. Well tailored, very seductive in design.
The last in the cast is Josephine Dillon, was by chance the same first wife of Clark Gable?
Yes, it certainly looks like it. Josephine Dillion was his first wife and was in this film. Good eye for details! 😉
Probably not related to Marshal Dillon.
@@garryferrington811No,I don't think so.
@garryferrington811 Or Bob Dillon. 😉
Watch “The Man With Two Brains” with Steve Martin. Very funny!

I thought this was a good movie.
The brain is the only organ that named itself.
Yes it's a good film. EvS is good, as always. And it's a pretty good story.
Donovan's Brain was released in 1953. This is an earlier adaptation of Curt Siodmak's novel.
@ Hi...ye, I got the dates mixed up, thanks for correcting that.
Then there was "Wild Bill Donovan." en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_J._Donovan
How many names does this movie have lol
Ugh
*yawn*
