The sport of jumping is small enough, skifly going 300+ taxed the jumpers but also the venues with many sites lacking sufficient length of lake to execute the sport, add in a special boat, modifications to the ramps etc. Just didn't have the momentum.

I'm watching in 2018 and the current world record is 254 ft
ski fly and ski jump are 2 very different thing...thats the ski jump record...ski jump has a 75ft rope and the bout is going slower
