This game easily has one of the best rpg combat system in the market. Imho it even beats the dark souls series in this regard, due to the HUGE variety in classes and skills this game has and due to the fact that combat in this game isn't hard due to pattern learning and fast reflexes, but due to the tactical approach that is required to beat some encounters. Like the fight with the Cyclops at 1:44:28 I think. When you climbed on his back to make him drop his helmet. I’ve never seen that. How did you make him do that?
Correction…1:38:27. The Cyclops just drops his helmet for some reason. I’ve always just tried to shoot all the armor off first or just shot them where they had no armor.
If you climb up the helmeted cyclops and place yourself in between his shoulder blades, he will reach for you but remove his helmet in the process. Then jump off and his head is exposed for you. 1:38:14

After watching this MK vid and many others from the Rift etc. I Got motivated to start a run in hardmode with a completely new save. It's very fun and challenging at the beginning, for me at least. I had to level certain vocations to get useful augments like Grit or Sinew etc. I feel like Bastion and Awareness are overpowered in hardmode. Like a lot. Read that it was more in hardmode but it's weird. Went from 1 shot from goblins to 5-6 shots. Having a blast anyway. Currently level 26, rich and on my way to the Shadow Fort. Thanks for sharing once again Prof!

I just did a hard mode reset as mystic Knight. Got to grigori at lv51. My leveling was 20 lvs as fighter, 15 as sorcerer, and 15 as mystic Knight. As enjoyable as it was i really struggled with dying due to everything 2 hitting me. But that made it so much better when i actually beat him. And all for that stupid coat- 😂 love your videos man.
My god, i was very much impressed with your solo MK run with Holy & Dark powers. Then you had videos educating the masses on the mix max, strength vs magick etc. Now this video is pretty great. Salute the maestro :). Cant wait for DD2 and then your series of videos on it

28:08 I don’t know if this will work on PC but on PlayStation. If you take Madeleine through the woods where the Goblins are, she will not stop to search for gold. Once the fallen tree with the three bunnies comes into view as you start to exit the woods. Start to hug the side of the mountain all the way out till you almost make it to the quest marker. It’s not a 100% that once you start to exit the woods that she will not stop at to search at that point but it is rare and it’s only one time if she does stop. Just a small tip to speedy up this little quest for ya :) I hope it helps
Yeah maybe if you do that quest during the day, but at night time, you’d have goblins interfering along the way, plus wolves come down from the woods, no matter which route you go. Again, that’s just if you try to take her there at night. During the day, it’s much easier.
I have to say how much it tickles me that you just dont bother with small coin pouches even when they are right next to the giant ones. You are indeed special!

The hybrid classes seem the most to handle most enemies and situations the best, however full warrior and full fighter seem very gimped, just based on them having no range option. I was wondering, anyone know how to measure the shield stability of magick shields? Or shields in general? Its a bit complicTed and i still dont understand how it works. I keep perfect blocking but i get staggered.

I just got to Chamber of Confusion as a MK on my first Hard playthrough and felt like I hit a brick wall. WTH was I doing wrong? Came here to see the evil eye really is a 10 minute fight and now I feel much better about going back in.
Man, you play super different from me. Maybe it's cause I haven't even gotten to NG+, but man, I considered naming my character to Full Pockets Charlie, with how much crap I hoard on my person at all times. How my Arisen's knees haven't shattered after one too many 2 feet drops under all the weight of my 1 million Mature Greenwarish, I don't know.
I have probably 500 hrs in this game on multiple play throughs and I never heard that the level up sound is the beholders petrify beam before.. something new every time you play it. 4:12:26

I never played Draongs Dogma and want to start playing it and thinking about maining the Mystic Knight. What did I see here? It looks like you speedrunned to the Addon-Part? This feels a bit cheated on the first playthrough. How long do you think it will take for me to "naturally" become a Mystic Knight and will my stats already be messed up by then? In another guide of yours it said that you should start as Mage and then go straight to Mystic Knight? I would just like to play the way you would probably play if you don't know the game yet. First do all the quests in the starting region etc. and then at some point become a Mystic Knight naturally. But I'm afraid that my stats will all be wrong?!
I've seen enough videos in your channel to know your playstyle is riposte-focused, but I've been playing MK myself recently and noticed something... Is it just me or the elemental buffs from the Magick Shield are way more powerful than those of a sorcerer or a mage? I'm pretty sure my fire-enchanted weapon, for example, gets much stronger when I use a Inferno Invocation on top of it. Same for Holy-enchanted weapons buff with holy.
If you run a only one vocation build [ except for the first 10 level (I think you need to reach lvl 10 to unlock the other vocation) ] will you able to make a strong arisen or you need to do some min-max on every vocation to be able to make a strong arisen?
This video is showing just that. 190 levels as Mystic Knight. Does just fine. Our weapons give us attack values, armor gives us defense. Our innate stats are minimal. I do 190 levels very often and end up just fine

Once you get your main pawn, if you have dark arisen you can return to cassardis wait till night time and go to bitterblack isle which allows you to change to advanced vocations.
I started in Normal mode, with Fighter. After I got the Ring of Perserverence and reached Fighter lv10 with 2000 dcp I switched to Hard mode, switched to MK.
Just re-installed this game. But i can't even type in a character name, nor can i select a Name out of the Name List. Its completely empty. I can start the game, but both my Char and my Pawn are blank named fools... Does anyone know a fix for this? I tested the Steam and the GOG version, both have the same problem on Win10. I know everything worked fine on Win7 and Win 8.1 years ago... because i played this game hundreds of hours without issue.
Trying to find the best party for it. Ranger, mage and sorc was efficient but it causes less attacks so i can use the shield lol (lassitude and grapple spells paired with all the elemental spells were constantly sending the foes flying up or away).
I love this game, but dang it has no direction in it and no compass in game to point you where to go to get to a certain place, and that caused me to go back and forth to the same areas I've already been to in the beginning of the game. I quit playing this game a long time ago because of it. If I could mod the game to have a compass to point me in the right direction so I can progress the game and open up new areas, this game would be amazing, but because of it lacking this crucial quality of life thing, this game goes down a bit on my rating out of 10. I'd say 7.5/10 with the lack of a compass, but like 10/10 if you don't count that, because I love these kind of games where you level up and fight with melee weapons and magic. I like FPS games, but I like these RPG games where you level up and can earn money to get better weapons and armor, and this game has a ton of variety of weapons and armor!
@Nihil0.0 I have noticed in many of your videos as MK that you do not parry Dragon's grab. I just want to tell you that you do not have to run when dragons do the grab animation and you can actually perfect block them. Try blocking close to the beginning of the animation.
Yeah, I don't like blocking the grab because then his right arm is blocking/protecting his heart. I convince his left arm back swing, that produces the best result for riposte minus holy riposte. Holy does quite good with grab, but I usually don't equip holy. Though, it's been awhile since I have blocked the grab maybe I could try different positioning and see if I like it.
@@Nihil0.0 Mmm you have a good point, but you can also use it to "charge" demonswrath. Well I suppose I use to riposte the grab a lot as I carry Holy and Demonswrath :). @@Nihil0.0 I've done some testing perfect blocking the grab on dragons. Actually you perfect block them at the end of the grab animation standing at their left hand side, so you get the perfect block and stand on a great position to do damage as the right arm doesn't block the hearth from that perspective. Is it just me or the elemental buffs from the Magick Shield are way more powerful than those of a sorcerer or a mage? I'm pretty sure my fire-enchanted weapon, for example, gets much stronger when I use a Inferno Invocation on top of it. Same for Holy-enchanted weapons buff with holy.

If you run a only one vocation build [ except for the first 10 level (I think you need to reach lvl 10 to unlock the other vocation) ] will you able to make a strong arisen or you need to do some min-max on every vocation to be able to make a strong arisen?
This video is showing just that. 190 levels as Mystic Knight. Does just fine. Our weapons give us attack values, armor gives us defense. Our innate stats are minimal. I do 190 levels very often and end up just fine
@@Nihil0.0 I see then I'm going to level up my arisen to lvl 200 of purely one vocation first then get the augment from the other vocations much much later, I just recently get back into playing this game after a long time, so my memory and experience to this game got a factory reset which includes all the tips and tricks that I knew last time. Anyway I watch a bunch of your videos already and just recently noticed that I haven't subscribe yet, I'll go subscribe now.

How did you become a mystic knight from the get go?
Once you get your main pawn, if you have dark arisen you can return to cassardis wait till night time and go to bitterblack isle which allows you to change to advanced vocations.
I started in Normal mode, with Fighter. After I got the Ring of Perserverence and reached Fighter lv10 with 2000 dcp I switched to Hard mode, switched to MK.

Can you explain why you go to BLI for awhile at the start. Is it for gold and to do quests for xp or?
Mostly to get the ring of perservence, but also the Almace sword.

Just re-installed this game. But i can't even type in a character name, nor can i select a Name out of the Name List. Its completely empty. I can start the game, but both my Char and my Pawn are blank named fools...
Does anyone know a fix for this? I tested the Steam and the GOG version, both have the same problem on Win10.
I know everything worked fine on Win7 and Win 8.1 years ago... because i played this game hundreds of hours without issue.
I play it on win10 without any issues so i don't know.

Trying to find the best party for it. Ranger, mage and sorc was efficient but it causes less attacks so i can use the shield lol (lassitude and grapple spells paired with all the elemental spells were constantly sending the foes flying up or away).

The arisen seems to have a problem with rabbits
I love this game, but dang it has no direction in it and no compass in game to point you where to go to get to a certain place, and that caused me to go back and forth to the same areas I've already been to in the beginning of the game. I quit playing this game a long time ago because of it. If I could mod the game to have a compass to point me in the right direction so I can progress the game and open up new areas, this game would be amazing, but because of it lacking this crucial quality of life thing, this game goes down a bit on my rating out of 10. I'd say 7.5/10 with the lack of a compass, but like 10/10 if you don't count that, because I love these kind of games where you level up and fight with melee weapons and magic. I like FPS games, but I like these RPG games where you level up and can earn money to get better weapons and armor, and this game has a ton of variety of weapons and armor!
@Nihil0.0 I have noticed in many of your videos as MK that you do not parry Dragon's grab. I just want to tell you that you do not have to run when dragons do the grab animation and you can actually perfect block them. Try blocking close to the beginning of the animation.
Yeah, I don't like blocking the grab because then his right arm is blocking/protecting his heart. I convince his left arm back swing, that produces the best result for riposte minus holy riposte. Holy does quite good with grab, but I usually don't equip holy. Though, it's been awhile since I have blocked the grab maybe I could try different positioning and see if I like it.
@@Nihil0.0 Mmm you have a good point, but you can also use it to "charge" demonswrath. Well I suppose I use to riposte the grab a lot as I carry Holy and Demonswrath :). I love watching and rewatching your videos. I'm still playing this game too hehe. Thanks for your content, it makes me feel as if I am playing with somebody else.
@@Nihil0.0 I've done some testing perfect blocking the grab on dragons. Actually you perfect block them at the end of the grab animation standing at their left hand side, so you get the perfect block and stand on a great position to do damage as the right arm doesn't block the hearth from that perspective. I watched your new video today, starting all over again, that is great news!. Anyway would love to see some more mystic knight content soon. BR.
