Hands down one of Smg4s finest works in a good minute, the concept of having Swag and Chris, Melony and Mario be the main focus while putting Meggy and Smg3 as just quick cameos must have been a risky decision but it was executed (pun intended) brilliantly. Karen and Hal Monitor being the chaotic supporting characters was so fun to see again and they did not for a moment seem to overstay each scene. Overall a fun and silly episode but one that was incredibly funny and well written. Amazing job to the writers and animators on this one.
I agreed with this comment, because let's face it, not having more then 4 main characters and only having 2 supporting characters that really haven't been seen in a while in any significant way really was a risky thing especially with fans, and also adding to the fact that there were only 2 cameos in the entirety of the skit, and also adding the fact that the other two Focuses were literally Chris and Swag, who also haven't been in action for a long ass time, and finally combine with the fact that they made the pairings different (Mario & Chris and Melony and Swag) and of course having two characters who barely if at all ever interacted in the entirely of smg4 up until this point... It's fair to say this is one of the SMG4's finest works with virtually no fan-service due to the 4 main characters only and two of which being characters we haven't seen since like forever.
Also forgot to mention that there were barely any memes at all as well! And they didn't even use the memes as crutches unlike so many from before this, like this is legit just an episode with a plot and the memes that they did use fit well (especially the Karen slash scene) and overall, this has to be one of SMG4's finest works with no fan-service and even added an interaction/teamwork for Melony and Swag, who again never even ever interacted or even talk to each other at all since Melony was even added into SMG4, and the fact that they even added Swag and Chris, my favourite smg4 due of all time and Swag being my dude and homie with no homos of course, is just fucking beautiful and worth not sleeping for school to watch and make these comments.
I cannot believe how fantastic this episode was to me. I really like how you finally brought back Melony and as a manga artist to continue the legacy of Axol after she was underutilized for so long, and her teaming up with Swag was highly unorthodox but led to a lot of hilarious moments, especially from Melony. I’ve never liked Melony much and think her humor has been pretty limited but the fact that Wolfychu voices her makes moments like 5:14 so much more funny. I love how you brought back so many characters I love, them being Swag and Chris, Karen, and Mr. Monitor. Karen especially does her role well, and I really like the moment where she annihilated Swag at 6:15. I love how Mario just doesn’t care that he’s being killed and is instead excited to get a large amount of free food. His order at 6:53 made me burst out laughing, and the fact that Swag has no hope and got alcohol as his last meal is a hilarious contrast. Overall this is probably my favorite episode of the year

One thing I love about the series as a whole is that according to the Lore, Mario is the universe’s avatar. Meaning if he dies, the entire universe collapses in on itself. Which makes all of the attempts to kill him even funnier.
I love seeing Karen being the best mom she can be while not giving a shot about anyone else. I also love Mario defending Melony, and Melony continuing the best boy’s legacy.😢 I miss him
The funniest part of this episode is that Melony could have just activated her god-like powers at any time and chose not to. She wanted to have fun with Swag rather than just brake Mario out easily

Ive been watching your content ever since I was in middle school. Watching the newer episodes and seeing how the animation evolves is amazing to me, since this channel is the main inspiration of me making this one Your the best, SMG4! Keep it up!
Because most of times, when Mario dies, it plays on "rule of funny" and "negative continuity. The only time to worry about Mario dying is when things get real serious such as the incidents involving Zero.
The combo of characters keep piling, and with it, the better side of stories and creativity ways to make and use them! Nice work! Loved seeing Melony remaining somewhat in her kind-hearted, innocent personality, and going along with Swag's plans to bust out Mario and Chris, but still keeping the same iconic characteristics throughout with both!
It's never going to go over my head that the exact script for this one threat, (the navy seals top class graduation) has been repeated almost flawlessly by the voice actors of many, MANY characters over the years. It's almost uncanny how such an old script is still sitting here with us on this giant digital planet known as the internet just for me to find it funny. Good job, SMG4. You are the guy that really continued an internet-wide tradition of characters no matter the show.
I got 2 kudos. Kudos one to Mario for helping his friend. Kudos two to Melony for making manga in axol’s name, saving her friend and not accepting not saving him, and finally making him happy with a buffet. Also for being a great person throughout.
Awesome for Melony to have a major role again, so, we can see how better she’s getting at becoming a manga artist, so, hope they do the same thing with Shroomy, not only a major role, but more character development.
I haven't watched SMG4 in a few years, mainly because of the tone shift and Mario's change in personality, but I'm glad this episode kept that silly charm the older SMG4 videos had, especially because of how serious the situation is in this episode would be under normal circumstances. Mario wasn't even really sad about his imminent execution, just that he didn't get his last meal, which is super in character for the Mario I know. So yeah, this episode definitely made me laugh several times. SwagMaster6969696969 will always be one of my favorite characters. BTW, I don't mind the redesigns (because I understand why they did it) or some of the new characters (haven't seen all of them), like Karen. She's cool (despite the name). Just not Whimpu, never really cared about him.
What an absolute banger episode! Great comedy and definitely tied with Mario steals the constitution for my favourite ep of 2023. The cast felt super fresh with characters like Melony and Hal Monitor showing up as well as the classic Swag and Chris duo, except broken up into two different dynamics with Melony and Mario, both of which were awesome lmao. 10/10

Probably because it probably takes a lot to kill Mario or something, I mean, Mario has “died” a lot so he can’t die by normal means apparently
Because most of times, when Mario dies, it plays on "rule of funny" and "negative continuity. The only time to worry about Mario dying is when things get real serious such as the incidents involving Zero.
The fact that Mario actually gets angry for his friend has something awesome. And I'd read Melony's manga.

It's never going to go over my head that the exact script for this one threat, (the navy seals top class graduation) has been repeated almost flawlessly by the voice actors of many, MANY characters over the years. It's almost uncanny how such an old script is still sitting here with us on this giant digital planet known as the internet just for me to find it funny. Good job, SMG4. You are the guy that really continued an internet-wide tradition of characters no matter the show.
Oh and for these hate replies I'm seeing recently in these comments, it's fine. Most of the world is a democracy. I don't really mind!

Awesome for Melony to have a major role again, so, we can see how better she’s getting at becoming a manga artist, so, hope they do the same thing with Shroomy, not only a major role, but more character development.

I haven't watched SMG4 in a few years, mainly because of the tone shift and Mario's change in personality, but I'm glad this episode kept that silly charm the older SMG4 videos had, especially because of how serious the situation is in this episode would be under normal circumstances. Mario wasn't even really sad about his imminent execution, just that he didn't get his last meal, which is super in character for the Mario I know. So yeah, this episode definitely made me laugh several times. SwagMaster6969696969 will always be one of my favorite characters. BTW, I don't mind the redesigns (because I understand why they did it) or some of the new characters (haven't seen all of them), like Karen. She's cool (despite the name). Just not Whimpu, never really cared about him.
What an absolute banger episode! Great comedy and definitely tied with Mario steals the constitution for my favourite ep of 2023. The cast felt super fresh with characters like Melony and Hal Monitor showing up as well as the classic Swag and Chris duo, except broken up into two different dynamics with Melony and Mario, both of which were awesome lmao.
