Hello there! Happy Holidays! This season I'm bringing you the ultimate Ace Combat 2 experience, a no damage complete walkthrough that guides through all of the missions and uses all of the game's planes. To my knowledge, this has never been done before (especially in a single video) and my brief searches didn't yield any similar videos. Ace Combat 2 is my first AC title, so I figured it's time to do it some justice. While I did have videos on AC on my channel, this is the first Ace Combat walkthrough that I've created. A lot of care went into it and I would compare it to Resident Evil 3: Nemesis walkthrough in terms of effort. Ace Combat is an underrated franchise, so I'm happy to create more content for it. I hope you'll enjoy it and find it useful! This is wild! I was looking in the PlayStation store and saw that Ace Combat 7 was for sale. I remember I used to play back in the day, but I couldn’t remember which one. I looked online and thought it was AC4, but it didn’t look familiar. All I remembered was a bluish, camo plane and some dope music. When I saw the cover of AC2, I got hyped and looked for gameplay, and this video came up. I watched the first 40 minutes and relived my entire childhood! Thank you so much for putting this up, really wish I knew where this game was. May buy AC7, just to try and chase dopamine.
A month ago, I also played this game on the console. My goal was to unlock the XFA-27, Model Display and Free Mission. It seemed impossible, because all the maps had to be flown lengthwise and crosswise to shoot down all the targets. It was especially difficult to fly around the map for several laps during the One Night Stand mission. But I did it. And I also really appreciate your work 👍✊!
Well, to unlock XFA you'd have to finish the game once and unlock EXTRA mode. Starting that mode will net you XFA no matter what you do. You don't really need to destroy all targets, but it doesn't hurt to have more credits. You can sell old planes and get XFA early. No 100% completion required. Unlocking FREE MISSION still doesn't require 100% completion either, just gathering all the medals, which would mean playing at least twice on two different routes. Congratulations, though!
Nostalgia to the max right now. I remember my dad got me this game for my birthday. We played it in the evenings after work. Making me want to fire the PS up again! 😂
@Dfactor Longplays on Mission Juggernaut (16B on Alphaville) you missed one white ship thats sneakly anchored in one of the lower left islands. Been using your guide to get 100% kills on all missions, but ended up finding this hidden enemy in this one, hopefully it can help other people. :D
Good eye. I tried flying all over the map during each stage to find any hidden units and also cross-checked with available guides. Too bad the regular targets are not marked on the map.
Man, I can't believe the algorithm finally decided to show me one of your videos. I never got to play the PS1 AC games outside of playing a bit of AC3 on my cousin's PS1, so watching these while also enjoying someone finally being thorough with their playthrough will be a blast. Say, do you plan to cover Assault Horizon Legacy eventually? I try to find videos where they show all the dialogues, including the ones spoken by Slash & Edge, but I could never find them lol
It's a long road, for a niche franchise, despite its long legacy. I do want to cover more AC games, currently in the process of going through ACX and that one's easily 3+ 12 hour videos. Maybe one day I'll get to that remake of this game. For now, I do have a rich collection of 4 PS1 videos on 3 AC games that cover absolutely everything (except maybe the multiplayer bit of Air Combat).
@@DfactorLongplays Considering you're doing long plays and ensuring you covered everything in a game, take your time, man. I don't even know if you also cover and showcase DLC stuffs too if they have them but either way, no rush. AC1 has multiplayer? Didn't know that. Thought 6, the PSP games (I'm assuming on this one), and Infinity were the first to do it.
@@MrStrangerthenever Yeah, it has split-screen deathmatch in rather primitive arenas. I guess it wasn't that popular of a mode that they did not include it in later titles. Or, more realistically, they didn't have the processing headroom for 2 viewports, since especially 3 was pushing the PS1.
@@DfactorLongplays Damn, Team ACES pushing the limits even in the very beginning, the mad lads lol Guess that explains why 2 & 3 never got them, but I do wonder why they didn't try again for PS2 trilogy considering it can go online.
@@MrStrangerthenever Too niche of a mode, perhaps. I'd imagine for a 2P mode they would have to reduce level of detail on everything. PS2 titles might not be the biggest boundary pushing titles, but they are pretty-looking and smooth. As for online, that would be catering to a niche within a niche, since the Ethernet adapter and internet usage back then wasn't as popular. Capcom, for example, definitely tried with two Outbreak games, but I have a feeling they weren't as big of a success as Capcom wanted them to be.
hello, I remember a game in which you had to load fuel and you also had to rescue paratroopers who marked the place with a red flare, is it an ace combat or is it another game? Thanks and Merry Christmas!!!
Nothing immediately comes to mind. There's air refueling and rescue missions in AC games, but I'm not sure if it's those. Maybe other viewers here could help? Merry Xmas and Happy Holidays!
