Karate is more of a defensive martial art. I'm not saying that you don't have to land a hit on your opponent, I'm saying to play careful, Karate is about thinking and how you use your moves to your advantage. Looking at what your opponent is doing, and countering it.. and blocking it. And then there you have a higher chance if landing a hit, you don't always have to be aggressive to win, it's about how you plan it out, that you have that advantage to win.

I am a self trained 13 year old. I have been training my self since i was 10 years old. I am 5.7 125 pounds. 6.3 percent body fat. I am not trying to be mean but there were so many open shots. Its like they are scared to strike. Its combat. These dojos need to teach there students to not be scared of a hit.
