As you've stated, you do what you can do. You're making great progress. I was fortunate that my surgeon and his staff, the nutritionist, etc, were all fantastic and supplied me with so much information, support, etc. One thing that I also enjoy and that's going to the monthly support group meetings. The people that attend those are in different points in their journeys and many have not had surgery yet. See if you have a support group for WLS in your area. Call your doc's office for info. I wish you the best...walking is one of the best things you can do....so keep it up. :-) Take care. - Mike
Hi Mike! I agree the support group at our hospital is great. Sometimes they break us out by surgery and other times it is big group, but no matter the format, I always leave with valuable information. I also have a weight loss support buddy. I'm making progress, slow but steady and I'm proud of myself. Thank you for your support and suggestions. Have a great week!
I loved seeing you fired up there for a minute. lol I learned more from this community than I did from my surgeon and their office. I know what to say to them when I go in...but I do me...at my pace too. You've got this under control...and then some! Can't wait for the next video :)
Hey Pepper! I agree. Sometimes, the assistance you get from the WLS community is much better. They have been there and done that. I'm thinking about doing weekly updates for a while, but we'll see. Have a great week.

Happy Monday!!!....glad to see you!!!......How are you???....I am doing good. I go to the gym and walk on the treadmill for an hour!!!...but doing well...
Hi Bluerain, I'm glad to hear you are doing well. I will eventually get up to 30-45 min walking on the treadmill or outside. In the meantime, I have been doing the walk away the pounds every morning. Have a great week!
I'm not sure i agree with your doctor on the getting your heart rate to 170 ... seems high for fat loss, good for cardiovascular health though. Walking on an incline has been my staple exercise and it's worked well for me.
Yeah, the thinking seems to be that now that we have our "tool" we can now make all the "healthy" and"fitness driven" choices we were never able to do in the past, because now we have the motivation, or new motivation. I hope that's the case, and it all comes in time.
Hi ltlvl2! I am making wiser choices with regard to the food I fuel my body with and my work out routine. I just can't do it ALL overnight. Slow but steady wins the race. Have a great week.
Hi Pete! Congrats on the gain. I can't do milk, lactose intolerance and don't have carbmaster in my area. I'm slowly getting my protein intake up. Slow but steady. Have a great week.
Hey Bluerain. I love hummus, but it sits in my system like lead, even when I think it out. I'll have to try again in a few months. I'll try beans in a few months as well. Thanks for the suggestions.
Glad to see you are doing well! I'm 2.5 wks out and right there with ya on getting everything in. I strongly urge you to join bariatricfacts.org and weightlosssurgery.proboards.com for support. It has saved me to be able to talk to 10+ yr DS vets and get food suggestions, fitness ideas - that are reasonable and in line with our surgery! I hope to see you there! :) good luck to DSRobs today!
Hi Antiqueclutter! Thanks for watching. That's really good that you are able to get all your requirements in. I'm very happy for you. I'll check out the websites you suggested. DS Robs will have his surgery on Thursday. Have a great week.
